I went there for help in 2020 because I was homeless. I was there 2 weeks and they kicked me out because they said I left my kids alone and I came in every night past curfew and I didn't do my chores and said I didn't turn my medicine in after I came in from a job I had. #1 my kids are grown adults. I came alone. #2 I always came in 20-30 minutes before curfew. #3 I always did my chores before I went anywhere. When I first came in I told them I couldn't climb on a top bunk but Mrs Mary put me in a top bunk anyway. Not allowed to have anything but your clothing with you. The staff are very rude. They are really rude to the ones they want to pick on. They kicked me out on the streets. I went to them for help getting off the streets. And here I am 4 years later still on the streets cause no one wants to help the homeless. Wonder why so many commit suicide.

The way they talk and treat the homeless here is beyond terrible. But given this organization’s reputation I am not surprised. They should really be investigated by the city.

I am allowed to say NO! ITS NOT A FORM OF HARASSMENT TO UNDERSTAND I AM IN A POSITION where I have to focus on my work, GETTING a home, off the street. I was in college and Mary and the state social worker put me out for having a chore to complete yet I could not help with the dishes! The staff their does not do their work they rely on the Caucasian women that seem to be on METH and the other staff is African American. She does all the work. When she asked me I said I am studying I have a job for the week. She ran to the office . I went to tje office she said just no. The addict's their run the building and start fights, and win. They smoke smoke and smoke but no food is given, Mary is hordering the food! You will loose weight and a lady HAD GAINED 18 kidney Stones because of Gatorade and water only. Nothing else is allowed in PERIOD. As homeless. YOU have no WATER! THEY DON'T PROVIDE OR GIVE SHOES EVEN SO YOU CAN'T EAT. THEY SAY. THEY LET PEOPLE SIT IN THE DAY ROOM ALL DAY AND NOT ALLOWED IN THE ROOM WITH OUT CONFLICT AS IF ITS THEIR DAYROOM. IM TRYING TO STUDY. NOT FIGHT OR PAY ATTENTION TOO YOU. IM IN A HOMELESS SHELTER FOR MY SELF I NOT TO FOCUS ON ANYONE!
THE SOCIAL WORKER CASE MANAGERS DO NOT HELP OR DO THEIR JOB ACTALLY HIDE FROM ME IN REPORTING and made me really uncomfortable and it's not a safe place or ok. Salvation Army helped my mother threw hard times as we were children. They supplied our Christmas presents to 4 girls. BEFORE my mother passed she started ringing the bell with me and my daughter and niece at wal mart, and to be out OUT OF A PLACE IM RUNNING AND SCARED FEAR WAS REALLY STRESSFUL AND I DON'T BELIEVE THIS PLACE SHOULD' HURT THE HURT " STARVE THE HUNGRY" YELL AT THE BROKEN AND MAKE THE SICK MORE SICK. WE ARENT OK. WE NEED HELP THAT IIS WHY I WAS THEIR.

I ain’t trying be negative & all that but I sign my kids up for the Christmas program & I requested a Walmart gift card & a koala gift card & only got Walmart cards will I didn’t even get a gift for all my 3 kids I only got one with $10 & one with $25 on it what is that suppose to bye some candy that’s yet ?

Very controlling and condescending. If you volunteer to work here but feel like it’s a waste of time just don’t do it. People going through hard times don’t need added stress of dealing with workers bad attitudes when they reach out trusting to be helped

This is a very great place to find help the staff are amazing ? and very helpful especially those of ethnic background they understand situations and life problems on another level I salute every staff member there they deal with a lot but still manage to help others and keep them safe and out of harms way shout out to ms.mary and Ms.T Ms.franchesca Tiffany and many many more I came there from another state with 2 kids a car and 200$ to my name ? they provided me a place to sleep and find work they watched with out knowing how much they were also helping and healing me from trauma I was going through I could cry writing this review right now but y'all deserve a great reward for your services and honest care for others

My experience with the Salvation Army shelter was on the rating of them one star experience as far as the staff members working with shelter Department not all other staff members are rude and nasty like reported in other reviews but you will be belittled by staff because they feel like they are in control and you have no say but my hats go off to the case managers especially Miss Sherry Ms Jamie even miss Mary with the over Far and Beyond that you all put up with in there oh and don't forget Miss Francesca thank you all for caring for the other extended staff they need to get it together because belittle and people in their need in crisis circumstances is not acceptable thank you for the time and patience and shelter that you did give me as far as my extended family and grandchildren through my daughter and meeting her needs Mrs T I love you boom boom boom LOL thank you for the employment my hats off for being a bell ringer God bless you and keep you always Merry Christmas

Pretty shocking what Kevin the director says about the lgbtq community in a sermon no less! Kevin has politicized a social services agency and this is sad! Jesus would not have turned people away because they were LGBTQ why is Kevin?Are he and his wife politicians or servants of God?
