Hands down, Monkees is one of my favorite boutiques to shop at in Lexington. The variety of outfits, especially dresses, available with fun prints and colors is something I like most about Monkees! The staff is inviting and friendly! They are eager to help you and offer suggestions! I have been shopping here for years, and it is my go-to for finding an outfit for formal events, a night out with my friends, or a fun piece for my work wardrobe. Monkees is a hidden gem in the Chevy Chase in Lexington.

monkeys has a good selection of designer clothes however, the prices have escalated beyond inflation and their 10 day exchange/Return policy seems insufficient. You can find similar clothes at several other boutiques nearby with better return policies. As a follow up, the owners reply states that I was trying to return an item more than a month after purchase which is not true. It was purchased on May 18, 20 days ago. I did not speak to the owner and informed the employee whom I spoke to that it had been purchased within the past 30 days and that I had the receipt and was open to a store credit, which they were not willing to offer. I live about 40 minutes from the store so it's not easy to get back to do a return in 10 days. However, I have been a customer for many years. I don't shop there all the time, two or three times a year for special occasions . I had hoped this locally owned boutique would be flexible with their local repeat customers. Live and learn.

Scam alert. I purchased a top online. When I tried to return it they said it was final sale but nothing online said it was final sale before I purchased. Avoid this place.

I am in town for the weekend and a friend recommended I come and look for a fascinator here for Keeneland so I did. When I asked the sales rep Eleanor if they had any she said they were in the back & she would have to go get them she asked did I still want them.. I told her yes,I did. She acted aggravated that I asked her to go get them. She also told me that I didn’t have to wear one for Keeneland.. I told her I knew this but I wanted to wear one. She acted extremely irritated the entire time my friend and I were in the store. The customer service she portrayed towards us made me feel like she thought we were “less than”. We were wearing sweat pants and sweat shirts because we were getting spray tans after.. but she clearly was judging us on our appearance. My family owns a business and thrives on custom service and this would be Unacceptable!! I will NOT be shopping here again and will NOT be recommending it to anyone! One bad apple can spoil the bunch.

A quaint store but it lacks in elegance. The owner prefers high price over high quality. Clothes are recycled from prior seasons, inventory soars with little traffic, and the return policy changes every week. I do not support this poorly managed urban closet attempting to disguise itself as a small business giving back to the Lexington community.

I love clothes. It's my thing and always will be. This store is literally heaven on earth. Hands down the best shop I've been to. I prefer to be left unbothered while browsing and the sales lady was friendly but not pushy. I'm determined to become a southern lady one of these days and this shop is what my dreams are made of!!! Extra points for selling Celia B dresses!!!

I had a fun shopping experience here. I liked the brands they carry...they have a few of my favorites. But when I got home and looked up the pants I bought, I paid $30 over suggested retail price. Found the same ones online at the manufacturer's website as well as *several* others, and nowhere else were they priced as high as at Monkee's. Lost my future business...

I love Monkee’s! It’s like shopping with a bunch of girlfriends. The shop girls make the store, they choose special items for me and always make me feel like a VIP! It’s such a wonderfully positive experience and you can tell that each item is hand chosen and of high quality!

Such a fun selection! I am not a shopper but the staff was so helpful and picked the perfect green silk top for my event. I’ve actually ended up wearing it for several occasions, and that’s a real win!

When I come to Lexington to visit my daughter, Monkees is a must for shopping. The boutique is filled with beautiful brightly colored clothing, jewelry and accessories! Monkees carries the most beautiful and unique coats, wraps, capes that I can not find in San Diego. They have a fantastic selection of tops and dresses, also and all of the staff is extremely helpful without being pushy. I can't wait for my next visit to this wonderful store!
