“All of the staff here are friendly except for one lady by the name of Mary I believe, who apparently looks down on anyone who carries a backpack, treating them as if they are going to steal anything that isn't bolted down in the store. After being asked to leave my backpack at the front, which I had no problem doing, I was informed that I had to leave it on the customer side of the counter. I insisted that I would be much more comfortable putting it behind the counter and was allowed to do so, very grudgingly, and when I tried to retrieve it with my hands full after making my purchases I was told in a very nasty tone that I wasn't allowed behind the counter and had a cabinet door slammed near my face. Miss Mary, by far, is one of the most rude people I have ever had the chance to meet. So, backpackers beware.”

“Nice place, my first visit. Stopped for a quick snack. Decided on 2 pizza rolls. Fresh made. They were excellent! However, it is hard for the cashier to ring up. Took forever to ring up 2 pizza rolls and $20 in gas. I was told technical issues. But after watching the cashier for over 5 minutes while he tried to key in 2 pizza rolls, it was a show itself but I really felt bad for the guy bc he wasn't trained right and they leave him alone. I just waited without saying anything,he had enough trouble as it was. Finally, he did get it together and had me on my way. Hopefully, they will do a better job training their employees. Overall, it was a nice place to stop.”

We were able to jump it and bring it over, and it was changed immediately. I highly recommend Shipley's, very personable and didn't feel like a chain where they don't care about the individual people they help.”
