The employees generally left me alone (thank God, y'all are way too pushy here) but I came in to buy a singular lipstick because I didn't wanna spend 35$ for free shipping on colourpop. Its like you can't even check out with them asking every personal question on the planet and tryna get you to sign up for their card. I understand id fill this information out anyway when making an online order but omg just to swoop in and buy some lip gloss? Y'all really are forcing people to shop online

Experience manager was very rude. I would recommend asking for any one else to help you check out or do any return. Sad to see she is a manager of any sort, I’m sure there are a lot better employees very capable of filling her position.

I came in to exchange a foundation that I bought and wanted to switch for another brand. I was approached by G and she was such a sweetheart. She recommended beautiful Lancôme products, that match my skin tone perfectly! I ended up buying 6 products because her recommendations and absolutely love every single thing she suggested. I really appreciated her insight! 10/10 experience.

Today, around 10AM, I made the mistake of stopping by Ulta after 5 below. I have tried to shop online but it is very overwhelming for me. So I figured I would try out the store and look at products and compare. I was greeted at the door and turned down help because honestly there was alot I wanted to look at and needed. I just turned 30 so ya know needed to vamp up that skin care routine. I didn't get dressed up, I didn't do my hair or makeup. I came in while wearing a baggy tshirt and comfy spandex shorts and my favorite slides that are 5 years old and need to be tossed. But I was comfy. That was my biggest mistake. The girl that greeted me at the door was extremely judgemental and followed me throughout the entire store just knowing I was going to steal something. Gave very rude looks was never welcoming in the slightest bit. She decided I didn't need to be there the second I walked in. I ended up making a quick selection and wishing I would have just purchased online. Was a horrible first time experience for Ulta and definitely makes me reconsider ever shopping there again. I'm sorry I didn't dress up on a early Saturday morning to be accepted in your store. I promise it was never my intention to steal anything from you. Sincerely, a tired travel nurse.

Went to this store with a friend to look at some makeup. I usually carry a big MK bag because I’m busy, when I was zipping it closed with one hand and holding products in the other. I was approached by what seemed to be Security from what she was wearing (older white lady with greyish hair) and asked me if I wanted a basket. It suddenly felt…like she had been watching me without me being aware and I didn’t need one so I said no. I then went around the store to look at products and she followed me around for 10-15 minutes. I have never had this happen before even in Topeka, I always strive to present myself well but this felt racially charged and from the reviews - I’m not the first nor will I be the last one if things don’t change in this store regarding staff because it’s all been BIPOC customers that have had this happen.

I’ve had a horrible experience the past couple times coming into this particular Ulta. I feel as though I’m followed every single time I go in there which makes for a very uncomfortable shopping experience and frankly I feel very racially profiled. I had one employee today stand next to me a young girl I didn’t catch her name because they never introduce themselves just think you’re stealing. She stareed at me then went and got another employee to tell me I couldn’t test the makeup myself but she could do It for me so you can open the bottle and put your hands all over It but I can’t test the make up myself. I was told I couldn’t test certain products, but saw other customers doing the exact same thing testing out make up and nothing was said to them. I also feel very uncomfortable being called “babe” from the certain employees in the store. Not happy with my shopping experience at this Ulta and would not recommend this one at all!

If you know exactly what you want then this store is fine. I like shopping here to grab my normal products and browsing the new stuff. However, I tried to get shade matched for a foundation and they did a bad job, then gaslit me into buying a shade that was orange on me. I went to an Ulta in Olathe and they matched me correctly. If you are looking for more of a service experience, I think it's worth it to skip Topeka and make a trip to Kansas City.

Keely & her manager, I can't recall her name unfortunately but believe it started with an M, they were both awesome at helping me resolve an issue with the app. They were very patient & kind. I appreciate them working with me so I could get my double points for my birthday ? Thank you for the help!
