I used to love going here but since the recent ownership change it does not have that little family neighborhood store like it did before. The staff was there before the new ownership were so friendly and they knew their customers. New owners and their staff always on their phones when I have been in there. To be honest, the people, staff and the owner are very welcoming as well as friendly in this store. The service is quick and convenient as you can get a lot of items with great deals.

Good deal on the beverage. Monster is 2 for $5 and got deal on pepsi and coke stuffs as well. It’s a good convenience store to buy stuffs with good friendly employees and manager.

When we moved to Topeka ( almost 3 years ago) John's was the most convenient place, close to home. They had great prices and awesome deals on drinks and cigarettes. If you were missing an ingredient for your meal... John's HAD it. We miss the Original OWNER...This past year John retired and sold his place. Things have gone downhill at an astounding rate. They are closing early ( earlier than posted), the new clerks are not friendly ( rude to be exact), the prices for off brands are higher than name brand, items are outdated on the shelf, they don't have much produce any longer, and what they have.... Is not fresh. They now offer hot food, that isn't hot, it's not fresh, and it's over priced. It's becoming more of a 'gas station" and less like a neighborhood market. It's sad that what used to be a friendly neighborhood store that was a ONE STOP SHOP, has turned into another CASH COW MARKET. I thought they originally cared about the community but have since proven otherwise. Suggestions are no longer welcomed, in fact they become offended or insulted when asked about certain things. I miss the old days at John's..... Where I could go in and get what I needed and have fun friendly clerks that loved their job and customers. THE FEW THAT ARE STILL THERE ARE AMAZING LADIES!!!!! I miss visiting with them. In a big city it was nice to have that " SMALL TOWN CHARM" and it's sad how it has disappeared...... I wish more people would get on here and give HONEST, UPDATED REVIEWS.... Maybe if they see how the community truly views the changes, it might improve the place... Here's to hoping!!!!!!!!

? I normally wouldn't bother rating if I feel like a business deserves a low rating, however, I feel it's necessary for John's! Notice who the majority of others who've posted reviews - suspicious at best! My family and friends used to shop here until they've ruined the convenience of making this a one stop kind of place! I feel sorry for the kind, friendly and decent employees that still work there. I've seen them get embarrassed at the things customers have been saying, because it's not their fault and they can't do anything about it!? First Experience: I have a medical condition that requires me to stay super hydrated and I used to buy my Powerades here. However, after the new owner took over, prices changed, even on the spot! I grabbed 2 for the "2 for" deal. The owner said, "No, that's not the deal!" and increased the price, at the register. He also took the signs down, right in front of me.? Second Experience: I used to buy my cigarettes here because they always had good prices and deals. Since, they have raised the prices and don't do deals anymore. I went back, recently, to see if they have realized that the deals kept people coming back. NOPE! All the deals, I remember, are all gone and prices have increased!!!I'm willing to change my rating, if and only if, they fix their mistakes and do right by the customers. We don't need a cash cow serving our community! ?♂️My family, and friends, have chosen to go elsewhere and to never go back, unless absolutely necessary!? I encourage ALL who have shopped here to post a honest review, as to your experience, since the store has sold!

The new owner has made unprecedented price increases above and beyond the competition. Example: Tweekers an energy shot has a price of 0.99 printed on it's label which they now charge 1.99.

I went in to get my son a lunchable. They didn't have anything but snack food. They use to carry a lot more. They didn't even have a diary section anymore. If you want snacks, gas, beer and cigarettes they have you covered.

If I could give it a 6 star, I would. Not only is it a one stop shop from gas to groceries, but you also leave there with a smile on your face. From the owners to the coworkers, you will always get courteous, and professional help in finding what you need. The store is clean and accommodating. All around great place.

This is a handy place to get a cup of coffee or a soda drink. It has a little of everything for the traveler or person who cannot make it to Walmart ..Restroom is adequate, it works and I am grateful it is available.
