Exactly what you'd hope to find in a store that specializes in running gear. Everyone was friendly and helpful. My experience felt tailored.I was nervous they wouldn't have anything in my size (15M) but there were multiple pairs to choose from. The shoes I got are a huge improvement and I wouldn't have been able to pick them out on my own.

Editing to reply to store response:I understand that you did not consider them defective, that was clear during our visit. The bottom line for me as a customer, if Hoka processed a full credit, not sure why an authorized dealer would not be able to do the same. This is not meant as a defamation of Ad Astra, it is simply one review out of many. This is my viewpoint as a customer and I hope that can be respected.——————————————————————-I purchased a pair of Hoka’s for my daughter in September. She really liked the shoes; however, within 5 months both heels were worn with plastic poking out and rubbing both heels, to the point she couldn’t wear them. I was very disappointed as the shoes were $180 and they could not be worn. I had googled Hoka’s return policy regarding manufacturing defects and understood they had a 1 year warranty if purchased from an authorized dealer. I took the shoes back to Ad Astra and was told they could not “defect” them out and told me after sizing my daughter again that they believed they were too small. I am not sure why anyone would pay $180 for shoes that are too small and then wear them for 5 months. Ad Astra offered me 25% off another pair and then after further discussion, increased to 50% off. I am not a customer that complains and expects to return shoes after normal wear and tear for a full refund but I was genuinely disappointed in these shoes as my daughter could not wear them after 5 months. So, I declined their offer and then decided to work directly with Hoka. I am very happy to say, Hoka gave us a full credit (and quickly) and we have a replacement pair being shipped already. Very happy with Hoka, but won’t be returning to Ad Astra in the future.

Thanks and major kudos to Grant and the folks at Ad Astra Running. They provided epic customer service in fitting me for new trail shoes. If you need new running or trail shoes, Ad Astra is THE place to go in the greater KCMO area!

My wife needed new shoes for her Jazzercise class. We stopped in and Erin was very helpful getting a number of options for her to try. Very good selection, well stocked and a knowledgeable staff.

Wanted to support local so after weeks of thinking about stopping by, I finally managed to visit the store. Just got out of the store with a disgusting experience. I see so many 4/5 star reviews so I guess it’s my luck I got the rude salesgirl today (wearing KU t-shirt).I walked in and asked about Brooks trail shoes. The girl said they don’t have it in stock and recommended Nike. I liked the color combination (blue/pink) and was checking out the shoe while the sales girl went in to get my size. She came back saying they don’t have the color and bought the color they had. I wanted to take a picture of the color I liked and the alternate colored offered to send a text and ask my sister. She grabbed the shoes from my hand and said we they don’t allow photos. As I sat down to try the other color, she asked me are you gonna buy or just looking around. Huh?!?! I said never mind and left. My family and I will stick with Zappos.

I visited Ad Astra a week ago looking for a pair of new running shoes. There were a couple models I was interested in but they didn’t have my size and can’t place custom orders.They told me there was a return policy if I didn’t wear them outdoors. So I decided to purchase a pair that fit well but I wasn’t really sure about to give them a try on the treadmill. I went back to return them since they didn’t work for me and was informed that their store policy is exchange or store credit only.It’s incredibly frustrating as I would not have purchased the shoes to begin with if they had been transparent about that. I now have a $142 gift card I can’t use because the 2 pairs of shoes I was really interested in aren’t stocked in my size and they can’t order them. I guess I’ll try to sell it on Facebook market.

The process are what you expect and the selection is great, but the service was stellar! Olivia was friendly and knowledgeable and we were in and out with a great pair of shoes in short order! Totally recommend!

It’s been 10 Years at least since I purchased a pair of anything similar to sneakers or running shoes. In fact the last pair I bought, were called sneakers. In any event, I did not know what I was doing. The woman who helped me at the store was exceptionally helpful. She guided me through selections, fit, and style. I recommend this store highly. Also, when I got home I checked prices on the Internet. The store match those prices before I checked on the Internet.Great deal. Great store. Great help. Thank you.
