I had to make an unexpected trip to Iowa to visit a friend who had just entered hospice care in Waterloo. The airport was somehow out of cars, so I had to rent from this location in West Des Moines. Xavior Williams called me two days before my reservation to confirm all my information. Due to my friend’s rapidly declining condition, I had to modify my reservation to go a day early. Xavior accommodated my request to change my reservation despite it being clear that there seemed to be a shortage of available cars in the city. He was on site the following day to check me in and give me a car, and demonstrated great sensitivity towards my situation. It was definitely one of the best rental car experiences I’ve ever had.

Did a great job of getting us in and out. Even picked us up. The guy who picked us up was very friendly and the person who handled everything else made everything else easy for us to get on the road. Only reason it didn't get a 5th star is that the car was do for a detail. I get it, it's a rental but the inside needed a little TLC.

I'm typically not one to leave negative reviews. I'm an understanding person and realize things can't always go the way we want them to. However, Enterprise prides themselves in their punctuality and being the people to "get you there", and my latest experience with this branch in West Des Moines, Iowa did everything but that.I reserved a car just after lunch time the day prior to me picking the vehicle up. The next day, not long before my reservation, I received a call saying that they actually didn't have cars available and that I would need to go on a wait list. My reservations were time sensitive as I needed to get on the road just after my reservation. They proceeded to tell me that they would keep me updated in case a car was returned, I needed to modify, or check with another place. The employee also told me that someone should have contacted me the day I made my reservation to let me know that there were no cars available, which would have been greatly appreciated and I would have avoided the scramble the day of my reservation.As time progressed and it became clear that they would not keep me updated, I decided to call them back. Unfortunately I was continuously put on hold and hung up on each time I called.Now, one might say that I should have just tried a different establishment immediately. And to that I would say I have been a loyal customer to Enterprise throughout my travel endeavors. Never have I experienced such neglectful customer service. Which leads me to believe that this type of service is unique to this branch.Again, things can't always go the way we want them to. And when they don't, it's fair to expect halfway decent customer service. If you are renting a car in West Des Moines, Iowa and want to experience the largest headache imaginable, please, rent from these folks. For some reason, they believe it is acceptable to say that cars are available online when in fact they are not. Only to then neglect their loyal customers.

I had to get a rental car due to someone hitting me and totaling mine. I had to get it extended due to not having a car yet. I called the insurance group they said they extended it. I have tried to call and email enterprise to confirm it went through and I was okay to continue to drive it. They have not answered either calls or emails. When I do call I get a call center and they say they will have to escalate it and they will call me. It’s been almost 2 days with no call from anyone at enterprise. They don’t know how to communicate and have terrible customer service.

These guys in Iowa post misleading prices in their website then all of sudden they’re sold out! There is need to be more organized and efficient in their operations..Can’t recommend.

Madysen, Zach, and team were FANTASTIC. They were extremely helpful and prompt. The vehicle was well maintained and they were very flexible on our specific requests/needs. When returning the vehicle, Madysen noticed me parking and came right out - I never waited in line to pick up or drop off (talk about customer service!!). Very glad to have this location and team in West Des Moines. 5 stars!

The man I talk to seem to not like black people. Online it has all the information you need to rent a car. Pulled up to them and they ask for bills and mail information. Suspect?! Then when I gave him mail they can’t accept mail that not a bill lmao these white trash of a people. Then he claimed everything is online I told him that’s correct and no where it said I have to provide proof of living.. I just need a car for two days while mine was at the shop smh … immma show y’all what is required online then imma take my step to sue this company for discrimination

Not enough staff on a Saturday. I was scheduled for a Saturday 9 Am pickup. Guy waited on 2 other people before me. He was very rude about it. Office looked dirty and phone rang non stop the complete time we were there not making our wait any less aggravating.
