“This 5 star review is for the service department. And when it comes to service, sadly, all Ford dealerships are NOT the same. My husband and I were traveling through Iowa, on our way to British Columbia. After a recent engine replacement, our truck started leaking antifreeze. Even though Steve Link Ford didn’t do the engine replacement, the service department still went above and beyond to help us. The service tech (husband thinks his name was Mark; might have been Brad who we spoke to on the phone), quickly identified the problem. And even though he wasn’t able to bring the truck in and do the repair (short staffed on a Friday afternoon), he located the part in a nearby warehouse and gave my husband the phone number to some different dealerships along our route, that might be able to squeeze us in for an emergency repair and get our truck fixed and get us back on the road the same day instead of us being stranded for several days. He also gave my husband the part number, told him how much the part would cost and told him approximately how long it should take to do the work. The original dealership who did the engine replacement “passed the buck” and said the antifreeze leak wasn’t from anything they did (even though the truck wasn’t leaking antifreeze before) and weren’t willing to stand behind their work. Another dealership “fixed” the antifreeze leak for a costly $800 but wouldn’t return our phone calls when we called to tell them that the truck was still leaking antifreeze. Steve Link Ford was willing to help us even though they didn’t have to. They could have just told us that they didn’t have the time, that they were short staffed or told us to take it back to the original dealership that did the repair. Instead, and in spite of the fact that they were indeed short staffed, the tech still came out to the truck, was willing to climb up under it and work with my husband to identify the problem. He then did what he could to help us get back on the road. He didn’t have to do any of that and his kindness is very much appreciated.”
