About Elkader JailHouse Inn
The Elkader JailHouse Inn is a fun, unique, and amazing place to stay. The building is stunning inside and out, with a beautiful restoration that makes walking in like stepping back through time. It is a great spot for a group, accommodating families or multiple couples with five rooms and four original jail cells with bunks. There are multiple spacious areas to hang out, including a large and beautiful dining room, a massive and well-equipped modern kitchen, a bar and game area in the old cell block common area, and a gazebo. The property is always clean and welcoming, with plenty of room for different activities and plenty of parking. Guests note the wonderful rooms, fantastic shower pressure, and a gorgeous outside view of the town. The historic jail cells provide a neat and interesting tour. Some guests found the beds not terribly comfortable, and note the original front steps have a larger rise. The rooms have individual locks for security, and the location is very safe with great walkability to anywhere in town. It is a highly recommended stay where guests can just bring themselves and create good memories.

Great spot to have a group! 5 rooms for couples (one can fit 2 couples, so 6 couples if 2 are ok w sharing). 4 jailcells w 5 bunks for singles.4 areas to hang out- Kitchen, Dining room, bar in the jail common area, and gazebo. ALL area plenty spacious.

Very very cool place to stay!! Coming back to sleep in a jail cell overnight.

Great place to stay with a full kitchen if you want to cook your own food!
