Beautiful hidden gem we found on the internet while shopping for Christmas. Outstanding customer service who went beyond the norm to ensure mom recieved her beautiful earrings. They are stunning in person and reading the back story on the corn used to print the jewlery made it such a unique gift this holiday. Thank you so much for going that extra step. Customer service is beyond 5 stars.

Love the farm to table concept - food is excellent! Foodies will enjoy all the menu options here. Atmosphere is also very nice - a beautifully maintained house converted to serve several tables - felt cozy and charming but not crowded (although every table was full.) Bring a bottle of your favorite wine to enjoy with the tasty dishes!

Dinner tonight on the porch. A peaceful, lovely setting. Chef Katy stopped by our table to chat. It was the best meal. The asparagus gallete was delicious as well as every other single thing. The experience was so nice.

My wife and I attended for their Thursday night dinners. We had been on the wait list for a while and got a table when another person could not attend. The food, atmosphere, and waitress were amazing. The hostess, Carla, was absolutely spectacular and friendly. If you have not attended the Thursday night dinners at Wallace, you may want to take a peak. It’s worth it!

Attended the tea luncheon held once a month on Friday. It was three courses of delicious food. The hostess read articles from the Wallace Farmer and a great way to reunite with friends. A great time

Sweet way to spend an afternoon with Teas and little treats. There are readings at several intervals, from Mrs Wallace's journal column, that are fun and interesting.

We love to come here for the Farm to Table Thursday dinners, cooked by Chef Katie. Definitely recommend reservations, and if you have dietary restrictions you'll have the best experience if you call ahead to discuss. This is a BYOB establishment, no corkage fee.

Love both the Farm to Table experience in Sherman Hill and the Pizza on the Prairie event on Fridays in summer. The food is always delicious and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly. Both are hidden gem experiences in Central Iowa that make a great date night or get together with friends!

What seems like the makings to a perfect date night was unfortunately bland and underwhelming. I love the concept and feel of this place but the food was not good. The vegetable and cheese plate mainly consisted on radishes and while the presentation was beautiful it lacked flavor and variety. The sliders were good not great and the salad seemed to be pulled out of the garbage disposal and covered in a unpleasant dressing. I hope the next time the menu is more appealing

December 2019 by Sarah N.
I just finished my first Farm to Table Thursday meal of the year here and unfortunately it's the last meal of the year as they close until March now. I reminded myself exactly how much I love it and how I've missed out! I want to make an effort to come more next year. We almost missed out because even though we called 3 weeks in advance the reservations were full. Luckily we were able to get through on a cancellation yesterday. We started out with the Honeysquash soup and the lamb meatballs, which are still my favorite. The soup was a bit thinner than I expected but still tasted great. Our main course came and I finally got to try their short ribs! (If you only knew the saga we went through in 2018 to try and fail to get to taste their short ribs you would understand.) They were every bit as yummy as I imagined. They came with a side of their crispy potato cake - which was more like scalloped potatoes but I loved them. It also came with roasted parsnips and radishes. I haven't had parsnips in years but trust me when I say I'll have to try to get them more now. They were roasted with I believe just a little oil, salt and pepper so the vegetables shown through. Exactly how I like them! The eggnog ice cream was tasty but the ginger molasses cookies were the star! The service was friendly, especially considering that my dinning partner was left alone for the first 20 minutes due to a ride/work snafu on my part. The place was decked out for the holidays and it would be worth a visit just to see that. I will for sure be back, I only wish I had someone to go to their February Valentine's Day event with so I could eat more of their food soon! ---- A side note is their CSA program was cancelled in 2019. I hope they will bring it back as I definitely miss getting all the fresh produce!
