My momma is currently at this facility and she loves it!! She has improved tremendously as when she arrived couldn't move her legs or feed herself. She now can put weight on 1 almost both legs. And has gained 15-20 lbs. They truly care about their residents.. I had an issue about money. And did their best to try and figure things out with us i recommend this place for any loved one.

This is a very unorganized nursing facility. They rent equipment from companies and then do not return it and refuse to pay their outstanding bill.I contacted even their corporate office and no response from them. All other attempts to reach the administrator and accounts payable person all went unanswered. I was given excuse after excuse after excuse. Our equipment was never returned and the bill was never paid.I would definitely not recommend this facility it is very obvious that their main concern is making/keeping their money, not the care provided to the residents that reside there.

This place is horrible! My husband was brought there and within a few hours we walked out. Very sketchy, facility was absolutely filthy, food was terrible. This place should be shut down. The pics on the website look nothing like it. Do not bring your loved one here.

Zero stars! Mother was placed here for rehabilitation barely got any. They didn’t take good care of her at all. Do not send someone you care about here!! I’ve never seen bed sores so bad. One month and one week there. 3 weeks were supposed to be rehab. And now she’s dead!

I’ve had the opportunity to work with the Executive Director there and I love his passion for taking care of people. I can tell he truly cares and that makes all the difference to me.

My sister was here for quite a while. It is a hole in the wall. Paint coming off the walls, sketchy elevator, no food choices, my sister wasn't bathed often enough, not enough workers, cigarettes were distributed among the residents for a social activity. Unbelievable.

I’ve lived here for close to 4 months. Some of the staff is nice and respectful. I’ve also had issues with therapy, they’ve dropped me because in there eyes I haven’t gained any progress. Well I was the way I was when I walked in. If that’s how they treat people. Then there in the wrong business. Go to Younkers Rehab. They’ll make you better fast, if you’re will to work hard. Des Moines Rehabilitation Center of Iowa says they care about there patients. Although, I was kicked off there program. They don’t even know me anymore. They care about there patients, ok if that’s caring. Well last night another incident happened at this same facility. I asked for a bed pan and since I’ve asked earlier & no need to use it. Well I did need it & called for one & I couldn’t wait. So the aide picked my feces up & did not change. Y sheets. Nor did they give me a new pad underneath me. Totally unsanitary. Then they brought my meal, as you can see my urine bottle was right next to my food. It’s still not been emptied. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS TO ANYONE.

Current resident ( long term ) , don't get me started on all the problems with this facility ! They have potential to be a great place if they merge with another owner of the facility . It is the way they do things that is the worst . The facility does need an overhaul of how they operate . I have great ideas , but will anyone listen ? The facility needs to hire some painters as well , get rid of the mold in the shower rooms , and alleviate some of the noise . They also need to get more food choices and train people how to cook . I don't want to hurt anyone , and I am looking into my options to move into a better facility .Their is a laundry list of issues that are never addressed !This is a very frustrating place to be , and residents do have a tendency to get irritated , but it should be expected . Staff backtalk residents , and cuss and swear at them .The food is lousy , because we are not offered anything but what is decided by the individuals who deliver the food to the facility to cook . Not a dietitian , not the dietary manager , not a nurse , not anyone associated with the facility . We get the same food spread out a few weeks apart , same vegetables , same potatoes , etc . We have no input ! We decide nothing that is cooked at the facility .90% of the staff ( currently ) is agency . No one wants to work here ! People quit left and right . Five directors of nursing in the last 2.5 years I been here !I could go on and on for a year , but I'm pretty sure I would begin to bore you .

My mom stayed here for rehab and if we would’ve known how horrible this place was, she never would’ve gone. In fact, we removed her and took her home because they ran out of her meds. The final straw. The pictures they show are a complete joke. This place hasn’t been updated since probably the 70’s. The best way to describe this staff - neglectful. They ignore the call lights, their cleanliness is lacking in all aspects from common areas to the rooms, also leaving commodes with feces in them for days, and even staff INGORING the visitors. All this shows they have zero shame in not doing their job or caring about your loved one even when you’re there. They are all on their phones all the time. I honestly feel bad for any person staying here and I think this place needs to be evaluated by some kind of government agency and shut down.

The nursing director was so evil she lied for her staff allowed my mother in law to be neglected so much she had repeated UTIS, they they actually sent her to the urologist with dried p*** on her and the urologist left the room an called DHS. my mother in law was a total care patient as long as family is there they are sweet as can be. After you leave it's hell. The rooms were so out dated an not cleaned properly. The director of nursing was dating the maintenance man .Employeesthere were employees stealing p

Remember to not just read the reviews but visit the place before you send your loved one there. Some staff are excellent but they could use more of them. The place could use some TLC which would benefit those needing care. Paint and lighting as well as new dining room furniture would go along way. The rehab room is lovely but the rest of the place needs help. Thankful it was only for a short time we were there.

I learned so many things working at this facility, I was given opportunities to grow and learn that I would not have received anywhere else. I made lifetime friends and I can honestly say it was the hardest job to leave but as it goes in life I hadd to better myself, I owe my current success to RCD ànd how they prepared me for my new challenges.

This is a great place to work. Staff and residents treat eachother like family, they are positive and i am always greeted with smiles and hellos. management takes the time to listen to any concerns or opinions and they are quick to find a solution and they also let the staff know how much they are appreciated on a regular basis.
