Worst car rental experience in my life and I have rented from many different car rental companies. When returning car we were told by Cliff that we were good to go, and miraculously less than 15 minutes of leaving we were called and told the car was “dirty inside and had pet hair inside” and were going to be charged a 250.00 deep cleaning fee. Went back to store and spoke with Cliff who treated myself and my son as if we were incompetant! I asked to be shown what he was taking about and he showed me gravel and dirt on the floor on passenger side of car carpet and some pet hair on seats (mind you when we received this car it was right after a major snow storm) and the car had floor mats in the entire car except for passenger side and we live in Iowa and hard to keep floors clean in the middle of winter! Needless to say I took the car and vacuumed it out to ensure we did not have to pay for deep cleaning which took me less than 15 minutes to complete. Moral of story I don’t know anyone who makes 250.00 for 15 minutes of work, guess I’m in the wrong business but one thing is for sure I will NEVER rent another car from Hertz again!

Went to go pick up reservation, with reservation confirmation. Said don't have any cars when I arrived. Called to dubble check and watched them pick up the phone and transfer me to automated call.

They didn't have a rental for 2 days but the car dealership got us a loaner for the 2 weeks that we needed.

Worst costumer service ever, called to get a car while mine was worked on was told they will have a car for me on Wednesday when I called to see if they had anything earlier by any chance, they said the reservation wasn’t till Thursday. The manager I spoke to had a poor attitude and didn’t care about my concern or that his employee had given me wrong day for pick up or that I needed the car ASAP he just said “go to Enterprise” I guess they don’t value the costumer at Hertz, and don’t care if they rent cars or not.

Bizarre experience- paid our bill and then later got a note demanding additional payment. When we inquired as to what it was for- they said you didn't pay! I read the credit card charge and date and amount to them. It wasn't resolved and then got a note that we can't rent from Herrz ever again- ah.... Okay?

This Hertz is the worst. We rented a van weeks in advance. My husband called to verify the day before pickup that we would have a van (we have a disabled child and a van is necessary for long distances). They did not but assured us that they would get one from a nearby location and have it for pick up the next day. They did not do this. They claimed we did not arrive early enough and they gave the van away. We are gold members. Been renting for over 15 years. We even called in advance with our situation. The same person my husband spoke with on the phone, dealt with us in person. He said he tried calling to verify that we’d be coming for the van but yet he never left a voicemail. This person knew we were coming for this van. I don’t believe they ever had one to begin with. Horrible experience.

Absolutely garbage company with garbage policies. 4 whole days after the reservation was made and there’s supposedly no car to give me?? Heading to enterprise, thanks for wasting my time this morning hertz.

The car that I rented was in a bad condition. Multiple dents, breaks and pretty filthy with oil smudges all over. Also, the car was marked as full gas even though it was compltely empty. I would not rent from this location or hertz if I had the option. On the other hand, the service was friendly and fast (manager not very helpful though)

If I could give them a zero I would, but I can't so they get a 1.Absolutely horrible experience. My car was being worked on and the dealership was paying for the rental car. I was charged over $200.00 that I should not have been. Hertz customer service is of no help in this instance. I was told that nothing could be done because they had not charged me despite the bank statements I have that say otherwise. In the time I had the car(s) (3 of them to be exact), each and every one of them had some type of issue (punctured tires that would not hold air, broken seats, dirty, not comparable to my car that was being worked on, etc.) I was told I could return one of the rentals for a new one due to issues and when I arrived to pick up the new car they did not have one and told me they tried to call me but could not reach me, then rattled off a completely incorrect number, despite having contacted me previously.The people at the location were rude, spoke down to me, and acted as if I was incompetent, which I can't help but wonder if that had to do with me being a woman, considering when my boyfriend went in with me they were completely different.All in all, I have not been contracted with them for a week now and still have yet to be reimbursed, in fact, today they charged me more money for "not refilling the gas tank before returning the car" However, I refilled the car before returning it. This charge is supposed to be wiped clean from my account, but with the way things have been going, I highly doubt that.Moral of the story-do NOT rent with Hertz.
