It was a great spot for one night. They need to upgrade the look. Just feels a little dated but otherwise it was a comfy bed and nice atmosphere. ?

The amenity spaces were in good condition, but our room and the stairwell we used had broken things.
We also couldn't use the luggage carts when we left because there were only 2 and the 2 attendants had no idea where they were.
Also the halls were kind of dark because the overhead lights are spaced too afr apart.
Lastly there was no Continental Breakfast.
We won't be staying here again.

There was a towel hanging on the back of the bathroom door when we checked in, but otherwise there's really nothing to complain about. One hundred percent would stay here again.
Rooms: Our room was great! We were traveling with dogs, so I'm not sure if these are all dog friendly rooms or general rooms, we had a 2 room king suite. One bedroom, with two queen beds, plus the living room with a fold out sofa. The room also had a tiny balcony overlooking the courtyard. Really nothing to complain about we were very pleased.
Walkability: There are a number of restaurants and options within walking distance. For me, walking distance is an easy half mile, I'll walk more without complaint. But I wouldn't describe it as walking distance to others ;)

Courtyard by Marriott in Clive
The facilities are clean and well lit inside and out.
Parking included handicap parking. The main bathrooms and front doors are handicap accessible.
The inside front has been remodeled to the nice bistro area.
The staff is kind and helpful , however not really up on feathers and down.
My room was mostly feather free- accept the down comforter! Causing the need to strip the bed and place blankets on it.
I still had a slight reaction to the feather and down residue but my allergy medicine did minimize it.
There certainly is a need to highlight American with Disabilities Act as well as storing feather free bedding in a separate safe area that is clearly marked so staff is not guessing at what they have.
The hallways and rooms look ready for an update.

Stopped here on the way to NJ from Boulder, CO. Polite staff and clean rooms.

Unfortunately the bistro was closed when I arrived and closed when I left but the woman was kind enough to make me an espresso! Pool was nice.

The staff and service is great here. Very friendly and helpful, definitely went above and beyond when we checked in. The rooms are a nice size and clean, but the big con is that the bed is not at all comfortable. They definitely haven't rotated this mattress in a REALLY long time. You can feel the indentations where people have slept. But thus far, that's my only complaint. May update this review later.
Rooms: Clean, but extremely uncomfortable bed. Need to rotate the mattress!

The room itself was fine, but I stayed for five days and not once did they come in to change trash or change towels. Multiple of the outlets did not charge my computer on my desk and my laptop was dead in the morning for work. My main issues were the fridge did not work and I had to move the desk to plug in the microwave in the room. I wouldn’t have had had much issue with it if it wasn’t for the lawn service putting a leaf blower next my room in the middle of a work meeting.

I originally booked at the Courtyard by Marriott Des Moines West Clive because I was looking for a nice hotel with a bar and restaurant. The Marriott website and Expedia both advertise a bar and restaurant with statements such as this:
“Stop by in the evening for delicious dinner options and handcrafted cocktails.”
There is a bar and restaurant only it is not open and no one is working there. The room was nice enough but there are a number of places I could have booked that actually have a bar and restaurant.
Oh and can you hear the Highway...Yes you can.

Not only did I hear about BED BUGS. This hotel Assistant manager stole money from my family. We are a family of 5 and had an emergency, it was personal but they would not refund even though I could not go on this trip. I had to tell them about my persnoal situation with my father having a heart attack and hoped they would give me my money. They do not care. This hotel will steal your money even if you cannot make it to the hotel. Then they will tell you all about how it's the policy and no exceptions. I wouldn't think a multi billior dollar hotel chain would need the money more than a family of 5 in a struggling economy. I had to work 7 hours of my life to pay for that hotel and they just stole 7 hours of my life that I had to work to pay for that. I wish we could of went on this trip but glad we didn't stay there due to the BED BUGS. However I wish I could have that 7 hours of my life back so I could use that money to buy food for my 3 children. MATT HOOD is the assistant manager. STAY CLEAR OF THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!!! RUN AWAY!!!
UPDATE:
I have tried calling to leave a voice mail for the General Manager, I was able to but forgot to say my phone number on his personal voicemail. I have tried calling back numerous time and Matt Hood and his front desk clerk are just picking up and hanging up. I would like my money back and ignoring me is how they are currently dealing with the situation.

Place was nice. The reservation was all messed up in computer system. Staff was nice and helpful, although it wasn't her fault. TV didn't work. Kassandra came up quickly to fix it.
Breakfast is worthless and no coffee.

Front desk had no idea what they were doing, how many times does the manager have to be called to check someone in.But that’s typical of all hotels, the least qualified are forced to run the hotel in the evenings.$127.00 for a room and no free breakfast. But you can buy breakfast from the bistro/cafe. But they’ll most likely be closed.Noteworthy details: Fridges are off in the rooms, so don’t expect it to keep anything cold. It takes time to get cold and will turn off in 8hrs automatically.
