DO NOT BUY HERE
I purchased a vehicle on 5/15 Not the vehicle I inquired about, but This vehicle fit all of my expectations and seemed like a great deal. Warren was easy to work with, I was pre-qualified so I went in for a test drive. He was pushy, but all salesmen are. During the test drive we noticed some knocking but couldn’t pinpoint it. We asked Warren - he sells cars but clearly has zero knowledge of how they actually work.
I felt pressured to buy since I was pre-approved and really wanted to leave with a vehicle that day and not take another hit to my credit for more inquiries. I asked before signing anything if there was any chance to purchase an extended warranty. Warren left for a minute, came back with paperwork for the extended warranty and against my better judgment, I went with it.
Fast forward to 5/27 - little over a week after my purchase. I took the car on the interstate for the first time. As soon as I left the on ramp, the check engine light came on and the car started shaking really badly. This was late Saturday night so I waited until Monday morning and texted Warren telling him what happened. He told me they were closed Monday but to call back first thing Tuesday morning. Monday, my husband hooked the car up to a scanner and the scanner came up with a misfire in cylinder 5. I took a picture of this, along with the check engine light on. I called first thing Tuesday morning like Warren said, took about an hour to get through to someone and then I was told they were without power and someone would call me back. Wednesday I finally got a call back, I let them know what the scanner was showing and was told I’d have to make an appointment to bring it in but they wouldn’t have any loaner cars available for at least a week. I sold my other car 1 day before the issues with this one started so I absolutely needed a loaner, I accepted an appointment for 6/6.
The light went off on its own.
On 6/4, we had to take another short trip on the interstate and the light came back on again once we came off the ramp. On 6/5 I topped off with gas and the light went off.
On 6/6 I took the car in for the appointment. On 6/7 towards the end of the day I called for an update. My car hadn’t been looked at yet. Shortly later they called back to let me know that they did look at it, they found the misfire I was talking about but they needed to remove the engine to look at another cylinder but needed my permission. Now this is where it gets interesting…they needed my permission because they found a mouse nest in the engine bay and I was told this may void my extended warranty. Mind you, I’d only had this vehicle a little over a week when the issue started, I don’t have a garage, and I had driven it daily so the possibility of it NOT already being in there when I bought the car seems little to none. I was told this car didn’t come from their lot and they don’t have any records of it. I asked where it came from because I specifically asked Warren how long HE had had it and he told me 2 days. I expressed this, let them know AGAIN.
Heard nothing Monday, most of Tuesday I finally called and asked for an update. They told me it was at another one of their dealerships and they’d have to call me back. About an hour goes by and I finally get a call. This time to tell me again, they found the misfire, but there’s a bulletin out with GM right now stating this is an issue and they recommend a fuel clean out. They want you to do this “at least twice” and if the problem persist, they’ll look “more into it”. The fuel clean out is $200 each time.
I inquired about any sort of 30 day policy as I was not informed of any sort of “bulletin” and the failure to explain to customers is just astounding. As far as I’m concerned I was a quick way to get rid of a busted car and they ran with it. I’m supposed to get a call from the “sales manager” but I’ve yet to hear anything. I have zero hope that Expressway Jeep Mt. Vernon, IN nor Warren Howard will take any steps to make this right.

Expressway in Mt Vernon did a phenomenal job both on the sales side as well as the service side. They have supported my vehicles for service over the years, while also providing me with a great truck when mine got totaled. Customer service is top notch, and Rachel and her service team are the best in town. Quick turnaround times and great communication
