September 2024 by Carolyn Schneider
I brought my car in on July 19th, 2024, for a transmission slipping on my 2017 Hyundai Tuscon that only had 69,700 miles. I spoke with the shop manager Brian whom I have had great success before. My car was left for an entire week without being looked at because my appointment was for the next Friday which I completely understand. Once it was confirmed that it was a transmission, and it was covered under my powertrain warrant the transmission was ordered on July 29th, 2024. All of this was great service and communication up to this point. I was told by the service manager that a transmission was only about 3 hours' worth of work, and it should be completed by the next week. I called of course the next Friday (no communication from dealership throughout the week) and not only was my car not repaired it hadn't even been pulled into the shop. I was told on the phone again that should be mid next week so again I texted Brian on Wednesday August 7th, 2024, and still not completed or even started. I was told that they only have 1 guy that does that kind of work, and he is backed up with like 7 cars before mine. Hopefully it should be done by August 16th, 2024. I showed up on the 16th to get some items out of the car and spoke with Brian in person. My car had been pulled into the shop but was just sitting out of the way in a corner spot. I checked for my things that weren't in the car and then left. I was told that they still had no loaner cars, and they had to share with the dodge dealership, so their list was long. Being a manager myself I can see immediately that the ownership of this dealership is way out of touch with its customer service. This shop doesn't have the staffing or tools they need to get the job done. Hell at one point I was told "We don't make the cars Mr. Schneider we just service them. So please be patient." I have bought 3 brand new cars from this place 2 of them (including the one being serviced now) were bought when it was BALES, and my experience was great. The current Sante Fe I just bought will be the last car I buy from this dealership as my experience much like most of the folks I see on here has been brutal. I am sure that the owner of BACHMAN has no clue what is going on in his service department or he just simply doesn't care about his customers anymore. This place needs to be dismantled and start over when it comes to its service and customer service department.

My car has been sitting in the service department for 3 weeks now. Every single time I call either no one answers, or they tell me that their system is down so they haven’t gotten to work on my car yet. They also have no loner cars so I have been without transportation the entire time.

It is almost impossible to get ahold of anyone here. Your appointment isn't your actual scheduled car maintenance time which is really inconvenient for those who are working since they don't provide a courtesy car. I just got my car serviced a few weeks ago and my car is already saying it needs to be serviced again so I'm going to have to go through this whole process again.

We test drove two cars with Adam. He was very respectful and humble. Would definitely go back.

I found the dealership and the salesman, Steve, to be top-notch.
I was with my daughter when she bought her 1st car .
Steve went up and beyond in helping her get her car registered since the dealership in IN, and we are in KY. He listened to her concerns and questions fully before giving answers.
They all treated her the way you would want one of their own family members to he treated.
I then thought I wanted to buy a car. Steve worked hard to help me find what I thought I wanted. When the car came in and it ended up not being the right car for me, he was very understanding.
I could not have asked for any better service or help to what Steve gave me.

We had an 11am appointment to take care of a recall. They told us it'd be done by 2-4pm. Which is insane already. 4pm rolls around and they only JUST began work on it and added in an oil change. "Any minute" over and over. Highly unprofessional. Shout out to the shuttle guy who was able to get us home and back to the shop though since we were told previously that it would be a quick job that didn't require having a ride arranged.

You can’t get a hold of the service department. They won’t answer the dang phone!

I took my car in for a factory recall and was told it would be a 2-day repair. I started calling at 4pm on the 2nd day to get a status or update on it and all I keep getting is transferred to a service advisor who has no voicemail and never answers his phone. Neith cCalls nor texts seemed to work. When you call the main number all they can do is transfer you and still no one ever answers. I think this place would benefit from a better system of communication

Keith Linton and the entire team at Bachman Hyundai made my wife and me feel comfortable during the purchasing process. I highly recommend the Bachman auto group!

I would give the sales team a 4 but the service department a 2 so averaged out to 3.
Gavin was my salesman. He is young but EXTREMELY nice. He was asking great questions, tried to get to know me personally, not pushy, very accommodating. He is young and so I do think he could learn more about if a customer has some concerns on a car to not try to dismiss those concerns by trying to seem knowledgeable. A better sales person should say we can double check just to make sure if youre comfortable before buying.
The service department is not good. First the truck I bought said tires had been inspected. It wasnt an “as is” truck and when I first test drove it, the tire showed at a 19. I brought that up as a concern. Sales guy brushed it off said oh we can just air it up if you buy it probably cold weather. As driving, the steering wheel “Chevy” symbol didnt align straight as it was more to the left and so I asked because typically that means an alignment is needed. The sales guy said “trucks have looser steering columns” and being this was my first truck and I saw the sticker where tires were checked from service, I let it slide. I did end up purchasing the truck, they were open to a little negotiation on my trade in which I was happy about and the price was definitely priced well. I heard several times the truck went through rigorous inspections.
Next morning, front tires are extremely low almost flat. I grab some fix a flat and take to Big O because its close and I was panicked. Big O said I needed 3 tires and an alignment. The front tire was very little tread on the inside as it was not aligned and a little dry rotted. Then they said the back tire had a side plug which was illegal and shouldnt have left the lot. It was super concerning to hear. I then wrote the sales guy and let him know and asked if they were going to help me with this. I got a call from the sales manager Josh and at first he was a little skeptical and came off a little accusatory but after explaining to him and bringing the truck up there for him to see the side plug, he apologized and finally agreed to reimburse me for the expense. The service department should 100% make sure the cars/trucks they say are being “inspected” are and not just sign a box. Its dangerous and putting people at risk esp from a reputable car business. Id make sure to have a separate inspection if you do buy a used car from here. Not sales fault but definitely need to improve their service dept. I also saw one of their service depts techs being a little rude to another lady. He was an older gentleman she said thank you to him he turned around, ignored her and backhanded her keys and it just wasnt a warm interaction. He didnt say a thing to her. The receptionist is a bit cold as well.
Am i happy with my truck, absolutely. Happy with them honoring to fix a correction as well but makes me weary about buying from them just bc of the service dept.
