I’ve been coming to ICS a long time.
Most recent bike purchase was a Green Surly Disc Trucker. It was summer of 2020 and I couldn’t go into the store, but the employee rolled it out so I bought a great investment that day.
What keeps me coming back? The customer service is unparalleled. Today, I was helped by two (new to me) folks by the names of Clay and Nick. They were fantastic, fixed my initial wheel issue at no cost, then I spent 80 on accessories because I was having a great time ?
Seriously, though: Indy Cycle Specialist is the top review/recommendation, local vintage biz’s aside, I’ll ever post. And there is not a single bike shop in the greater Indianapolis area that stands close to ICS
. The owners are both very hands-on, there all the time, and very friendly.
If you haven’t been, do yourself a big favor.

On a whim, and in greater interest of buying a motorcycle, I popped into ICS to possibly acquaint myself with 2 wheeled transportation. I am a complete novice with near zero knowledge of bicycling. The first day in Ben was extremely helpful, answered all my questions, and gave me answers to questions I didn't know I needed to ask. I also was guided to test ride 2 bikes. The experience left such a good taste in my mouth that I returned the next day, test rode 4 more bikes with the help of Nick and others, and left with my first Surly Preamble bike. This is about as good as customer service gets. If at all interested in bicycling, visit this place ASAP.

Scott and the team and Indy Cycle specialist helped turned me from a new rider that knew nothing about bikes to someone whose profession and life revolves around them. They've always met me where I was skill wise, been patient as I struggled with terminology and understanding, and helped me level up every step of the way. The free basic service for a year helped me focus on riding. Whether I need some service done, or I've absolutely bodged a repair I've attempted myself, they've been willing to take on my work and charged very reasonable rates. We've now bought a total of 4 bikes from them...something we would have not anticipated when we started. Great place. :)

Traveling cross country and noticed a tick coming from the rear wheel. Brought it to the guys at Indy Cycle Specialist and they diagnosed and fixed the problem within the hour. Spectacular service! Highly recommend this shop.

I recently bought a bike here, all the employees are all very friendly and welcoming to new riders. Also they have a pretty good sized BMX bike section and BMX parts, if i’m not mistaken they have the largest BMX section in indy! (Here is a few photos of my bike when I got it)

Where do I begin -- Our experience with ICS was beyond amazing. I have worked in various bike shops for the past 5 years, only recently leaving the career field to pursue something new. With that being said, I know my bikes. I often refrain from sharing this during bike shopping, so as to not come off as a know-it-all, and to see if the salesman tries to upsell me or sell me on upgrades I don't really need. This was certainly NOT the case with Ron at Indy Cycle Specialists.
I came in looking for a new recreational mountain bike for my fiance. Ron talked thru the options with me and gave me an assortment of different models and options. He was willing to put a bike on hold for me for a few days, no deposit required. When I came back in the next day with my fiance, Ron talked her through the bike (it has been over a decade since she's ridden one), and taught her all about the differences between a modern mountain bike and a bike she may have ridden 10 years ago. We selected a few upgrades to go along with the bike, which the mechanics installed on the spot. We were in and out within an hour, with my fiance having a whole new confidence for riding to go along with her new mtb.
As someone who has been on both sides of the industry, both as a salesman/mechanic and a customer, I can say that ICS may be the best bike shop I've ever stepped foot in. These guys are awesome and have certainly earned my business here in Indy. I was never pressured to spend more money, upgrade the bike I was buying, or make a quick purchase. Thank you guys so much (Ron especially), for helping someone new enter the world of cycling with enthusiasm and excitement!

Had a number of bike issues and Jacob was amazing. He knew his bikes and was extremely helpful. Had to cut my handlebars a tad, helped me adjust front front and rear shocks and my seat. While I waited I found everything else I wanted to add to my bike and he was on it. Even helpede reload my bike on to my van! This place rocks!

I had a really great time going to Indy Cycle Specialist about a week and a half ago! Scott, who's the owner is a really great, kind, amazing, nice guy, who's got a great staff! Usually, some sort of bike is getting worked on or fixed, which is always cool to see! Scott's a really down to earth guy, who from my knowledge, primarily mountain bikes; it's always a pleasure to talk to him and see him?! They were cool enough to let me use their bathroom when I went to pick up a parktool hex wrench multi-tool for my track bike! Customer service was great, like I said, everybody's really friendly and really helpful as well! If you're in the market for a new bike, wether it's a road bike, mountain bike, or whatever, Scott's got a HUGE, vast selection of them.
While he doesn't have my favorite brand, TREK, he's got SALSA, GIANT (which is really similar to trek), and SANTA CRUZ, which are all phenomenal brands! A lot of bikes I looked at were aluminum body with a carbon fiber fork, and pretty standard ball park price of around $2,000, across the board. He's got a lot of great carbon bikes as well, tons of PARKTOOL, tools and bike garage accessories, for you fanatics out there, like me! He's got a great tire collection including continental brand, with gatorskins, and ultra sport 3s, he's even got BROOKS saddles, so there's a ton of top of the line stuff there. Definitely worth checking out! You might be able to find some things he has in store cheaper on Amazon, but he might price match! Back of the store is huge, I can only imagine what he has back there. If you're ever in a pinch and you need something, though, he's absolutely the first guy I'd come and visit. Maybe even before BGI ??.

Absolutely fantastic service. My wife and I presented here with minimal bike knowledge and the need for a new bike and the sales associate walked us through multiple models around our price point. He took time to describe all the specific features and pros and cons of both. We ended up trial riding two separate bikes and they were very accommodating. After choosing a bike they got us set up with only necessary recommended bike add-ons based on our preferences. We had a fabulous experience and will come here again for bike needs in the future.

I brought my 12 year old Trek in to have a tune up, new tires, peddles etc and they did a fantastic job! My old bike feels brand new and I am quite pleased with both the price and the work I had done. This was my first experience with Indy Cycle Specialist and I will definitely be back!

This is the only place in Indy to buy a bike as far as I’m concerned. They carry the right sizes for everyone and have all the add ons you would ever need at 10% off when you buy a bike. Also between Ron and Steve I think you could ask any question about biking and they’d have the answer. Overall you leave with not only a bike but with an experience and knowledge about your purchase. I will always support local business and these guys are as local as you can get. If you’re on the fence about a bike come to Indy Cycle Specialist and they’ll give you the confidence to go for it.
