Erin Young Designs was great to work with! They provided alterations for my rehearsal dinner skirt and my wedding dress, as well as custom-made/designed my reception dress. The alterations were a perfect fit and felt very comfortable all night long. I absolutely loved the custom-made dress they created for my reception. It was exactly what I had in mind, but better. Erin was dedicated to making me feel comfortable and beautiful in all of my bridal dresses. Highly recommend Erin’s services!

Erin is truly incredible! I am an out of state bride and she was really accommodating to my schedule as to when I was in town. I also broke my leg before my wedding and she was so knowledgable as to how to help and work around my medical equipment! 100% would recommend her for your wedding gown or anything other alteration needs! Erin altered my wedding dress to perfection and has done alterations/redesigned numerous dresses for me. I would trust her with ANY item and always know that when she's done with it I will feel more comfortable and confident than when I bought it off the rack. Most recently she altered a bridesmaid dress for me for my sister's wedding. I bought the dress when I was 5 months pregnant and wore it three months after I had my son. Erin was willing to make changes to the dress all the way up until the weekend before the wedding, given my fluctuating figure. She also put cups in the dress for me for more coverage. She handles every project with professionalism, expertise, and skill.

Do not trust Erin Young Designs with your special occasion! I hired Erin to custom make my mother of the bride dress and was left scrambling the week of my daughter’s wedding. The seams, buttons and hem were all uneven, the straps were different widths, the bodice was not straight, and the fabric was stained. Erin lacks professional integrity, is dishonest and never on time. Save yourself the stress and heart break and take your business elsewhere.* After reading Erin’s reply to my review, I feel inclined to once again note her dishonesty. My dress was picked up unfinished the Saturday before my daughter’s wedding. I was upfront with Erin at pickup and told her I was taking it to be completed elsewhere. She stated “the seamstress may find more things that need fixed.” Final payment was made and canceled immediately once I was made aware of all of the issues with the dress.

Cannot speak to her dress making skills, but incredibly unacceptable alteration work. Twice, she took my sisters wedding dress in dramatically (after 4 fittings). The last fitting, my sister asked if she took it and she said "no, are you on your period?" When in fact, the dress was taken in by her assistant. She fixed it, as we waited. And then was to pack her dress for her wedding in Ireland. When we picked up the packed wedding dress it was ready to bring overseas. 3 days before her wedding, she unpacked it and tried it on... the waist was taken in, yet again, and the chest was taken out at least two cup sizes... when this had already been fixed once before. My sister could not even fit it on, unwearable. With only a few days left to spare, my sister was forced to find someone in Ireland to completely re-do the disastrous work that took Erin months and hundreds of dollars to do. The emotional train wreck that put her through was unacceptable. Luckily, she did receive her money back which is probably the only appropriate thing about this situation. My MOH dress was also altered, and I paid more for it then I did the actual dress. The dress did fit nicely on me but when I looked at the dress closely it was done in sloppy fashion... didn't even sew in a straight line. I also asked to keep minimal train and all of the train was removed, however too late to make a big deal out of it. She could make wonderful dresses, but if she doesn't do the alterations herself she needs to hire different assistants - because it's her name on the line.

I do not recommend this business. My dress was here for over five months and was not near completion. What was done was not done correctly. Padding was never added to the bodice despite picking out which padding I wanted with the owner. The hem was cut but was still far too long. The bodice was taken in far too tight (she insisted multiple times it was supposed to be that tight).She could not keep appointments straight. I walked in to my second appointment and she insisted it was at noon, despite us making all three of my appointments for 11. I had to leave and come back an hour later. I’m not sure if she double-booked or was just busy, but I am certain she was wrong. Then she insisted we never made a third appointment and only spent about a minute looking through her schedule for it. I had to go through my planner and email her that we did, indeed, already have a third appointment scheduled. She could never remember my wedding date, asked a thousand times if I wanted a bustle (I told her no at least half a dozen times), etc. She was extremely disorganized.I finally got fed up five weeks out from my wedding and pulled the dress to take it somewhere else. My husband picked it up for me and he said she was very unwelcoming and nasty toward him. She never bothered to ask why I pulled my dress early, which I believe is very telling of how she does business and that she doesn’t want to take responsibility for any issues.The other alterations business had to let out my dress almost two inches, which is a LOT considering I’m a 00. They had to take several more inches off the hem (which Erin said was the correct length), add the padding, etc. They did it all in four weeks on top of doing daily express alterations and other gowns. I have no clue how Erin can claim her work is good when another business had to fix everything she did. Her timelines are not up to snuff at all. She had more than ample time to complete my dress. I also found it extremely bizarre that her changing rooms only had see-through sheer fabric curtains to cover the room. She was NOT friendly.All in all, it was a horrible experience every time I stepped into this business and I knew my dress was not in good hands. It truly felt like she could not remember what I wanted done to the dress and like she did not know what she was doing. I felt awful after each appointment and it really spoiled the bridal joy I should have felt. Please entrust your wedding dress alterations with a different business.

I can’t speak to Erin’s abilities in dressmaking and design, but DO NOT take a wedding dress to her for even simple alterations. We basically needed the hem raised, straps adjusted and a bustle and she had the dress for almost 3 months - hem never finished at the right length (any reputable tailor would know where to hem the dress for optimal wear) after several fittings. Bustle and bodice adjustment due to added padding were unprofessionally completed. Too much fabric was taken off of the front panel, so when the lace needed to be reattached, the mesh fabric wasn’t long enough to attach in several places. Owner rescheduled final fitting just before leaving town for her son’s wedding, so we had no confidence the dress would be finished properly without her supervision in time for the wedding. We picked up the dress and took to another tailor. They were appalled at the sloppy work “amateur” and “Mickey Mouse” work to use their words. Needless to say, this put a huge damper on the magic of my daughter’s special day. Very disappointed. Erin maintains that the work would havebeen completed if we left the dress there, but at that point we had no confidence that the dress would have been finished in time for a final try-on. My daughter was in tears after every fitting as Erin just didn’t seem to know what she was doing. We were friendly and courteous at every meeting, so it wasnt a “bridezilla” or “momzilla” situation. I also had her hem my MOB dress and the overlay beaded mesh was cut crookedly and the actual hem was sloppy and uneven. The whole experience was unbelievable. I took pictures at every fitting which back up my statements. Honestly, I’m only doing this review to keep another bride from going through this. Luckily, the wonderful women at Alex’s Tailor Shop made her happiness a priority and did an amazing job - having to redo everything that Erin had done. Got the dress back the day before the wedding…..ended up with a happy bride and a beautiful wedding day, but will always have this unfortunate experience in the back of our minds.

Erin helped make my dream dress for our special day. Erin completed alterations on the bodice and hem of my dress and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. She is as talented as she is kind and pays close attention to detail. When you’re working with her, she makes you feel like your project is all that matters - A great listener to help make the dress fitting process as easy as possible and makes you feel beautiful from the get-go! We love her + couldn’t recommend her enough. So thankful for her time and talent to make this day so perfect!She also helped my mom decide on a Mother of the Bride dress. My mom had picked several, brought it to Erin, and helped my mom feel confident and beautiful that day.Thank you, Erin, for all your love and support before, during and after the wedding day!

As a fashion challenged Mother of the Bride who dislikes shopping and is clueless about fabrics, styles and design……I highly recommend Erin and her team.She was kind, knowledgeable, professional and helped me put two MOB looks together. She created a custom jumpsuit which fit perfectly, was comfortable and very trendy for the rehearsal dinner & cocktail party. She also expertly altered my dress for the wedding. Erin is passionate about what she does and it shows in the quality of her work and the amazing experience of working with her❤️

I wish there were 10 stars for Erin! She is so very kind, creative and professional. Her own code of ethics is perfection and her work is absolutely exquisite. She has been a real life example of an angel during covid times with a long distance bride (my daughter). She has been in the industry for years, carries beautiful fabrics, offers kind, thoughtful suggestions and comes through every single time. Anyone who is in need of beautiful design work, veils, dresses or alterations etc.....believe and trust that you are in very qualified caring hands when working with Erin Young. A sheer pleasure.
