This review is long and very long overdue. On a Friday, I was in search of a particular part for my dad's lawnmower. He wasn't able to go himself, so he sent me. I called to confirm the part and the staff was very accommodating. It was 20 mins to closing at the time and I was all the way in Orland. I asked if they could possibly stick around for 15 mins after closing because my dad really needed the part and I wouldn't be able to make it at opening the next day at 7am. They agreed!
Traffic took a bit longer, and I arrived 30 mins after closing. When I pulled up to the parking lot, there were 2 cars there and a guy (Taylor, I think?) walking towards 1. I drove up to him and asked if everyone was gone, then explained my situation.
He SO KINDLY said sure, let's get that part for you, and REOPENED THE STORE just so I could buy it ?
We walked in to the store, lights off, alarm on, and I was able to get the part.
That kind of kindness doesn't go unnoticed. It may be just a part, but the actions and willingness to help will make me a forever patron at Ace in Dyer. It speaks volumes of the guy who helped, management, and the owners. Thank you all sooooo much for your above and beyond assistance that day! I'm very grateful ☺️

Great place with awesome staff! Always well stocked, organized and tidy. This location will cut copies of car keys, even the PATS and smart keys. And they will repair window screens, as well as sharpen knives. Prices are on par and very reasonable. I appreciate the ample screw and bolt section. Why go to a huge box store if you can avoid it?

I'm mainly leaving this review for my main man Lucas. I've only met him twice, but he was one of the best employees I've come across. He went above and beyond to help me with installing my license plate. Weeks later, he even remembered me and asked about it! Gus is lucky to have workers like Lucas.

Bought a pair of Thorogood boots in August, 2023. The ankle support on the left boot began to tear, rip, and completely separate from the boot. I called Thorogood and was told to return them to original place of purchase as they were defective. I did so in March 2024 with the original receipt. I also got a 2nd receipt for the exchange. No questions asked. I asked the MOD at the time if it happened again can i exhange them for a different brand. I was told yes. Again, no questions asked. Just bring back the exchange receipt. In May of 2024 the exact same thing happened again. I attempted to return them because I was told before that I could, only this time I was refused. Was told by the acting MOD they did me a, "favor," last time and that an exchange couldn't be made. Even though I had 2 forms of proof and was told before
it wouldn't be a problem. The whole store seemed very indifferent about my situation. Would not recommend and will choose a different Ace next time. Which, I know you guys really don't care and believe I'm a Karen. And that's fine. I'm just not a fan of lies and a bait and switch.

Nice hardware store but staffed with rude, inconsiderate people. The older man that answers the phone says hello instead of answering the phone with the hardware stores name. I.asked a simple question about a service and he abruptly said WE DON'T DO THAT and he hung up the telephonm I'm glad that new competition has come to Lowell. No more Gus Bocks hardware for me. Tractor supply here I come
