Jewel-Osco at 177 E Roosevelt Rd in West Chicago offers a range of grocery services with friendly staff ready to assist shoppers. Customers can enjoy convenient options like Grocery Delivery and DriveUp & Go™ for easy pickup. The store features a bakery with birthday cakes, custom cakes, cupcakes, and more, along with a deli that provides party trays, platters, and an Order Ahead service for quick preparation. The butcher block offers a variety of meats, seafood, and sushi trays, while the produce department is well-stocked. However, the store faces some challenges. It is considered small and in need of an update, with limited space and narrow aisles. Some customers have expressed dissatisfaction with the store's cleanliness and product availability, noting that shelves are often not stocked or items are not fresh. There have been concerns about the store’s cleanliness, particularly the floors, and the condition of clearance items. Additionally, there have been reports of theft and safety issues related to alcohol theft, which impact the shopping experience. Customers appreciate the deli staff for being nice and accommodating, and they value the sales and easy-to-find items. Nonetheless, there have been serious safety concerns regarding food quality, with multiple reports of buying spoiled or expired food, including canned goods with punctures and moldy or bacteria-contaminated products. Some shoppers feel that the store needs more thorough shelf checks and better food safety procedures to ensure quality and safety for all customers.
I’ve given 3 stars because it’s a short distance from home but food can be expired or molded so watch out!! And if you get the cooked grilled/fried chicken from here be careful because my breast weren’t fully cooked- I tossed them in the air fryer considering I’ve been working more so being tired is an understatement😔

Older jewel osco, needs updating. Honestly, this store is small and works. Would be nice to increase size and give more room for wider aisles.
