Thank goodness for them. I still wouldn’t be sleeping at night if I couldn’t have taken this tiny Tennessee Warbler to them on a Saturday afternoon. Thank you. Thank you!

This may be inappropriate here but i have been looking for a resourceful investment to make and after so many failed trials, i have been able to secure a proper investment which i am benefiting $10,500 weekly just from investing $1000, and it would be wrong to keep it to myself while others can benefit as well, i have been able to secure a lot for myself in few months now, with the help of Mrs Kelly Robert she is a stock and forex broker, most of you might think it’s a joke but this is how people miss wonderful opportunities. If you want to know more about this, Contact her. You can reach her via WhatsApp: +1(323) 628-7351 Email:

Excellent care of the birds they take in. GCCBS is constantly trying to find the right forever homes for the birds that come through. A great group of people that really care.

These people are saints. I was treated with care and respect. Thank heaven that there are people and organizations like this. The care and concern I saw for the birds was amazing . Donations are accepted here. They .need them too. All volunteers at this organization.

What an amazing place! Clean, bright, organized by bird breed. Staff( I'm sure mostly volunteer run;) were hard working, super knowledgeable about each bird breed, chopping fresh veggies & fruit, super friendly & hands on w/ the birds. Birds are completely vetted before being adopted! You will NEVER get that at a pet store! After a long adoption process (4 visits) we are taking our girls home today, iggy & Stardust! Thanks so much!!

Absolutely positive experience. Looking for a Cockatoo fell in love with a couple, 1 already had an application on her and the other wasn't super friendly but both really beautiful. There was a nice selection and could have chosen another species but just going to wait until the right one comes into the facility. This is a really great group of people who work and or volunteer here. They were very patient and knowledgeable. We thought about purchasing from a pet store or breeder but Leslie explained the benefits of bird adoption and it made good sense. Birds can live a loooonnnngggg life our bird was 29 when he died 2 years ago. So we're going to be patient in the hopes on our next visit we'll find our new family member.

I would have to say, if you are true bird lover, this is the best place to go! You will be thoroughly vetted, so don't think you can just drop by and pick up a bird; that's not the way it works. First of all, imagine an important job interview: Give a lengthy explanation of why you would be a perfect caregiver for a bird. Send video of your home inside & out, emphasizing exactly where in your home your bird will have his cage/home. Are you providing a clean a safe environment...can we do welfare checks to see that the bird is happy and not mistreated.... how many hours a day will it be without companionship. After much soul searching, I decided my tiny high-rise apartment might not be the best and happiest environment for a cockatiel.

Horrible workers!! Me and my family came to look at a bird that we made an appointment for and we were told that we can touch and feed the bird, a lady approached us and disrespectfully asked us if we’ve signed a waiver to do so.

I am very disappointed with this facility. I am trying to adopt a bird from there. I submitted my application at end of Feb and have been visited three times trying to build relationship with the bird I like. At the first visit, I am interested in two birds and I emailed the adoption committee same day per their website instructions but I didn’t receive any response in the whole week. So I followed up with the volunteer at end of my second visit, and the volunteer told me that it is more efficient to communicate with adoption committee on Facebook. So I messaged the facility on Facebook and they told me one of my interested bird is approved to be adopted by another family and they will put one available bird on my application. They told me that the review of adoption application will take weeks. So I visited the facility third time at middle of March and I felt the bird really liked me and I even gave the bird head scratching. My friend took video and recorded the moment and I sent this video to them on Facebook to show the progress between me and the bird but they denied my application right away and stated the bird doesn’t like me. I don’t understand how they determined but I felt I am not been treated fairly. On their Facebook introduction of the bird, it is clear says this bird is shy and won’t go out of the cage but now the committee said because I cannot invite the bird out of cage which is the proof of the bird disliking me. I felt the committee is not helping the bird to be adopted but keep the birds as much as they can for some reasons I don’t understand. I have 8 years bird pet and I want to expend my bird family by adopting instead of purchasing. But this facility is not the right place. I won’t recommend this place to anyone.

I had a very frustrated experience with this facility. I gave credit to all the volunteers that had worked there, but I have to give bad review on the adoption committee. First of all, I emailed in my application and informed the adoption committee through email with the bird I would like to adopt on 2/25, no reply at all after that. During our second visit on March 12th, I communicated with the volunteer said I still haven’t heard anything, then she suggested I should communicate through Facebook. Fine, I start chatting with someone on Facebook starting March 13th (by the way no introduction from that person who I had communicated with) By then, they just put down our name with the bird I want, and finally today 3/24, I have been told the bird does not like me because it won’t come on my hands. First of all, what a huge time waste on the communications. Second, the criteria of adoption is based on their feelings, and REALLY vague. Let me tell you this, the volunteer and another older lady tried two different times in front of us, and they cannot even get the bird out of the cage, so the bird does not like them either? I have visit 3 times so far and finally can give this bird head scratches, and planning to visit again, just try to bound with this bird even more, if this efforts means nothing to you, I don’t know what to say. At last, I don’t recommend this facility to anyone!!

Looking at their website and facebook page I struggle to understand. There is clearly no effort to adopt birds out while being at full capacity. I looked at their adoption form and it is horribly intrusive. How long your spouse has been at their job is a credit application, not a qualification for a rescuer of damaged pets. I have no idea what function they are trying to fill but it isn't for rescuing or adopting birds as they suggest. If the owners respond to tell me I'm full of bird droppings, I would love to know how many birds were rescued AND placed in the last 12 months. Would I need more than one hand to count them? If their success isn't based on rescuing and placing birds, what is it based on? Revenue?

This is a wonderful organization. I have volunteered several times here and can attest that they treat the many parrots sheltered and bording at the site very well. They also seriously consider whether an adoption is in the best interest of the birds. As others have said, please donate or adopt if you can. It's also quite an experience to volunteer here if you love or want to learn more about parrots of all colors and sizes.
