This past weekend we camped at the chain o lakes campground, where Gills is located.
I would like to thank Rob (I believe that's the owners name) for the great advice as well as going above and beyond helping us.
I wanted to rent a boat to do some fishing which Gills has. After speaking with Rob on renting one of his boats, he suggested using a friend's rentals instead. He knew were were looking to enjoy the water as well as fish. He currently has fishing boats with trolling motors vs gas. With trolling motors you are limited on ride time and distance.
He looked out for me and my family by suggesting another rental while losing the money renting his. This was a class act on his part. Putting profit aside to help us have a better experience on the chain. True customer first attitude. You truly never see this anymore. Great man with a good heart.

Great people and very helpful staff. A big variety of options when it comes to fishing. Paddle boats and row boats are available for renting. Fishing licenses are available to purchase at the location. Always stocked with fire wood and ice and bait. A lot of options to choose from and the prices are very reasonable. You cant beat the price compared to other places. The food was great form the pizza to nachos to fries to the cheese burger it was fresh and delicious. A great option to have near by the camp grounds or just visiting to fish or launch your boat.

Very nice staff. We were able to rent 2 canoes without a reservation. The river is very calm and peaceful. Perfect afternoon activity. I will definitely use them again.

A simple concession store filled with the necessities. The owners were so caring and wanted the best experience for my dog and me. They got us into the boat that would work for the two of us. They took my driver's license but didn't have me pay until after to ensure that my dog would take to it okay and it wouldn't be a waste of money for me. I really appreciate them go above and beyond for customer satisfaction rather than just wanting to make a buck.
