During my initial visit I spoke with the clerk and he mention that they were adding a few things that the previous owner did not have. Very friendly guy which I spoke to prior to grabbing snacks before work, which is why I dropped in in the first place.”

“I wish they were back to 24/7 and when they had competitive gas prices. I used to drive out of the way to come here for the cheaper gas, but now they're the same as everywhere else. They still have the $4 car wash that includes free vacuuming, and the vacuums are incredibly strong (too strong, honestly).”

They have hot sandwiches usually and roller grill items, plus Wisconsin cheese curds/sticks, Lotto vending machine inside, plenty of pumps outside. “Driving on a snowy Chicago day while 9months pregnant and I stopped off at this well lit gas station when I had to pull off the highway and order a tow truck, then wait for a Lyft. The gentleman working (I couldn't read his name tag but name began with an S) was so kind and I wonderful to me. He pulled out a folding chair from the back and let me sit inside to stay warm, asked me if I needed anything, and at no point seemed bothered/annoyed by my presence. He was chatty and friendly with all the customers that came in and I just felt like he went above and beyond to be a kind human. It's so nice to be met with such kindness, especially on a night full of unexpected car troubles. Thank you sir!”

“Not a car wash review but a personnel review. My car died on Skokie blvd just outside of the carwash - completely dead. An employee came over within minutes and offered to jump the car with a portable starter pack. After a couple of tries we got the car started and out of the way. My kids and I are completely grateful for his help. We didn’t get his name and I didn’t get to thank him as he went back to work right after I moved my car. I truly appreciate his help and Im sure Waterway is lucky to have a kind helpful employee like him.”

“I have actually been a regular at this Mobil gas station for sometime now. There ain't nothing special about it, but it is convenient to me because it is near where I work. I only come when I'm desperately in need for gas or rarely when I would like to grab a snack while headed to work. Despite the outer look of this gas station, I get that feeling of being in a cluttered room when I enter the inside due to the way its set up. Another thing that baffles me about this location is the fact that they have a bullet proof window inside of the gas station which makes me wonder because it is Skokie for crying out loud. Skokie is no where near as bad as certain places in Chicago, so I'm wondering what the purpose is of that?”

“We thought it was cheaper gas. But you needed to have a car wash for that certain price point which was $5.85. But we wanted to finish our shopping due to more groceries in the trunk. Getting the car washed wasn't on our To Do List??? My sister ended up paying $6.00 due to her Jewel-Osco for U points. Which took off 5 cents per gallon. Unsure how many points she used. And we shop at Jewel's a lot.”

“My truck started overheating and I ended up pulling into this gas station with my hood up. A mechanic from this shop saw my car walked over to me and took a look at it saying if it was something he could help me with to get me back on the road that he was more than happy to do it free of charge. Personally I have never had work done at this shop before, but based on that gesture I feel like this is a high character establishment. Just leaving this review because I thought it was very respectable.”

“I like this convenience store quite a lot.Most of the 7-Eleven‘s and other convenience stores around here are staffed by Middle Eastern people, who - bless their hearts - tend to range from not friendly to actually quite rude.This station is staffed by Latina women who are, in my experience, overall quite charming. I speak only a little Spanish, but Latino people tend to be extremely forgiving of bad Spanish - and grateful that you attempt to talk to them in their language. This is quite different from the way we Americans treat Latino people whose English is not, by our standards, up to par.The station is only a couple of blocks from the Best Buy store on Howard. I recently purchased the Best Buy Total Tech Protection plan, which is - in my humble opinion – one helluva good deal for an entrepreneur/free-lance writer who needs tech support.I have spent most of last year and a half roaming through the Western North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains - and then rural Tennessee, Kentucky and Indiana - where Best Buy stores are as rare as hen’s teeth. As long as I stay in Chicago, I intend to make big use of that Tech Support package and walk into the store for face-to-face support as often as I can.Whenever possible, I intend to patronize this store for my $1.09 coffee and my gas.”

“My young son and I were driving to the Shedd Aquarium from Waukesha, WI when my check oil light came on. I will admit that I am completely ignorant when it comes to just about anything with cars, so I had no idea what kind of damage I could be doing to the car to continue driving, and I was a good 2 hours from home. I happened to find Kris Touhy Auto because I searched for a BP gas station close to me along my route -- and sure enough attached to the BP was this auto shop. I was shaken, I was embarrassed, I was rushed -- and the two men in the shop (an older gentleman and a younger man) immediately stopped what they were doing and both came out to check my oil level and fill it up -- for like pennies! They even showed my son (and me) how to do it. I can't say enough good things about these men and this shop. It seems like a simple, easy thing for most, but they saved the day for me, and it had a huge impact on my day. If I lived closer, you'd be my go-to! Thanks, gentlemen.”
