Went in around 5 in the morning with my husband to grab a coffee and a sandwich. The guy at the register was high as a kite. We couldn't understand what he was saying cause his sentences were broken up. He was slurring. The card reader wasn't doing anything so my husband said something and the guy just blankly stared at us then said there were signs on the door saying it was cash only..then acted rude and like we were idiots. We triple checked before we left...there were absolutely NO signs anywhere that said they were cash only. Will not be back here. Get new employees and for God sakes drug test them

I regularly go to this store and yesterday was a horrific experience with the ASSISTANT manager Austin Nelson, I prepaid for $20 in gas inside and when pump was not working I walked back inside to see what issue was, the ASSISTANT AUSTIN smiled and said he put on wrong pump but its fixed now, I go back out and I start to pump and it stopped at $4.01 and I then go back in and ask him why it stopped? He replied with an attitude that he again put on wrong pump and I got someones gas for free and we had to redo transaction. I was like why? I asked if he was sure it did not go on my card? He was like yeah and was starting to raise his voice at me and denied it when I asked him why he was so upset. I then told him firmly to not talk to me in that tone and he told me I got free gas and to stop complaining. I then got upset and told him off. Then he told me to leave the store but as I left he decided to tell me he understood why I no longer worked for speedway as he knew my personal job history and was in no way correct but he did break Speedways number rule about gossiping. I am not the only one who does not like going in there when he works, other customers from neighborhood says he is EXTREMELY SMUG AND STANDOFFISH! He is mainly like this with women. I will be following up with Speedway corporation regarding his unprofessional demeanor.

The only reason I am giving any stars at all is because the employees at this gas station are not the problem. My issue is with corporate.
I come to this gas station frequently throughout the week for gas. I’ve been having to drive rideshare since my cancer treatments. I have brain issues from the chemo. So I’ve been unable to resume my previous career. I take very good care of my vehicle and all of my belongings. One day I decided to save time and use the Carwash at the gas station instead of going in the other direction to the carwash I have a monthly pass for. And the roller brush came close enough to my vehicle that the force caused my driver door mirror to break at the joint of the mounting brackets. The store clerks were quick to make calls to their manager. One even told me that they always have issues with that bay at the car wash. I was given the information I needed to contact corporate regarding this. The person at corporate that I had to speak with on the matter said he would have to review the security cameras. After which, I was declined and told Speedway is claiming no responsibility. I am beyond disgusted. As I already have my own hardships. I have always thought that Speedway Company was a dependable quality organization. But I have changed my opinion and will no longer be stopping at any Speedways for anything. If they cannot take care of a regular customer for a $250-300 repair caused by their faulty equipment, why would I allow them to profit from my hard earned income! This repair has set me back from making money during my hardship. And now it will also cost me out of pocket at a time in my life when there is nothing extra.

This SHOREWOOD establishment doesn’t deserve 1 star. I was there today purchasing a sandwich. We will identify the short rude employee as “Indian Cashier” asked me three times to to purchase 5 donuts for 1/2 price. He stared my debit card knowing I’m going to purchase sandwich only. Over and over asked me to purchase other things. NO NO NO WALKED OUT. I recommend Murphys up the road. Gas is 30 cents lower.

The card readers at the pump are nearly never working correctly. Maybe you get lucky. Some pumps have a card reader not working sign permanently there. I'd argue that most of them should. No effort has been put in for years to fix these. Do yourself a favor and go across the street to the other speedway. A gas station that you not conveniently pump gas is a joke.

The employees are always nice. The store is maintained nicely and usually pretty stocked with products. They do usually have a problem with the pumps not taking cards and or not printing receipts. This is a very busy gas station so over all better than all the others!
