Service in this place absolutely sucks. Being Christmas time you would think they would have some extra salespeople to help you out. Their person in the camping section told me on the phone that the items I wanted to purchase will be brought down to the "will call" room. It was near closing time and I knew I wouldn't make it to the store that night. Next day I went to the store right after it opened and the greeter asked if he could help me. So I told him that I had a few items at the "will call". So off he went to get the stuff. 15 minutes later he came back and said he couldn't find my stuff but there was another area that he could look at. Another 10-15 minutes later he came back and said it wasn't there either. So I went upstairs to the camping area and waited for a salesperson to come over. The second floor was deserted - no one to help me. So I yelled out HELP ME, HELP, ANYONE HELP. Finally I saw a kid by the shoe department and I frantically started waving my hands in the air. He came over and told me he worked in shoes but didn't know too much about the items I wanted to purchase. I said that's ok, I know what I want but it's way too heavy for me to carry. So he went back to the shoe department and found another kid to carry the stuff down to the register. Hooray...I paid for the items and had to wait again for someone to carry the stuff (in the shopping cart) to my car and load it in. What should have taken all of 20 minutes took over an hour. I hate this store!

Dylan helped me with my purchase in the shoe dept. He was informative making sure I was aware of current sales and all the color options available for the shoe I wanted. Great service overall.

The good: the store is spacious with many products.The bad: staff. 80% of employees need to be fired and the remaining 20 - retrained.People are rude, not helpful, not looking to resolve any issues, concerns etc. inventory doesn’t match the reality, managers are nowhere to be found, and are upfront rude, and this is on repeat for months - as is obvious by numerous other comments hereRecent experience was so bad and caused stress to my parents, that I had to actually call corporate and speak about this store.Beyond horrible, now driving extra time to other locations or shopping elsewhere, as this is unacceptable. 0 customer service here.Also, Leslie working here and her male manager need both to learn how to manage client relationships, when to shut mouths and apologize looking for a solution and not causing even more problems

Ordered 2 kayaks for curbside pick up. Checked in on the app. I waited 15min with no staff coming with my order. I called 3 times only to have the phone ring for 3mins and then disconnect the call. I walked into the store and 5 staff members were just standing around the registers hanging out with no customers in sight. Asked about my order and was told to go to the other side of the store to the other entrance. The other registers had one cashier with a line of 10 people. Now going on 35mims for curbside pickup with no help. Fine spoke to someone and they told me they didn't see any curd side pick ups I showed the check in on my phone and was told someone must have acknowledged the curbside request and then didn't do it due to the fact that they were kayaks and I needed to go rear of the store to the loading dock. Mind you I was all set with my straps and everything so I could put them on my roof rack quickly due to the fact it was raining pretty good. So I had to pull all my straps off and take my car to the rear of the store. 10min went by and finally some came out to the dock and had no clue what I was picking up. Told them what I was there for and they just got it finally handed me both 10ft kayaks and didn't help me get them on to my roof, also where not the nicest when retrieving my order. Had to spend another 10min getting the kayaks on my roof rack by myself. Moral of the story is none of the staff seem to care about any of the customers. They were all just doing their own thing. Curbside pickup took close to an hour and that isn't ok.

Love coming to Dicks in Schaumburg because most of the time they have what I need since it a bigger location. My boys play sports and for each season they receive 20% off coupons and never before had we had issues using them. I spend a lot of money every month at this store but the new staff and girl manger you have at the register have really poor customer service and respect towards customers and treat us like we are trash and if you use a coupon they look at you like if you are broke. Then if you buy a brand like ON or Nike etc without scanning the coupon bar code they tell you it doesn't work on these brands and decline to scan the coupon. The young guy that use to work in the baseball section knew a lot about that section and always did a great job breaking the gloves in. He was a great employee I remember he was into running track. The people in that section are okay. Then if you need to try something on in the fitting room you have to find a worker somewhere in the store and they get mad. I understand it sucks because there is rude customers but we are not all the same. Then I buy a couple pairs of shoes every week and I use the kiosk because it hard sometimes to get a hold of the shoes employee and some are great and some are disrespectful and instead of giving you the box they just throw it up on a table when they could of just handed the box to me in my extended hand that was waiting to receive the box. Sometimes the kiosk doesn't work properly and skips your shoe you are waiting on. Another thing I hate about shoes when you order a shoe and you already checked to see they have a couple pairs in stock and they try to give you the display one that is all dirty from the bottom and has scuffs. The only section that is nice and respectful is the fishing section older two guys. They have great customer service and are more than happy to help anyone. Some of The younger employees especially the girl who says she the manger at the register need to drop there cockiness and ego a couple tones down. Another thing why would you charge to use the mini batting cage. It's not like it has a pitching machine and not enough room. I understand it gets a mess and people mess things up because they don't follow rules but lock it up when not in use and when someone needs it put a timer and have an employee give them a time limit and then have them leave. Overall I still come here and deal with it just because it near by. The value of most of the things is overpriced but it the only sport near by.

Generally I like Dicks for most of my sporting needs. It's just the one time when I left two racquets for restringing that they really fell hard as they ignored my request for over three weeks where I finally took the racquets elsewhere.
