Very disappointed with service and how John treated a miscommunication from employee. I have been a regular customer for years. I stopped in last weekend and was looking at a Japanese maple trees. It did not have a price on the tree. So I asked the employee standing there how much the tree was. He stated 249.00. I went back in a couple days to buy the tree and once up at the counter they told me it was 549.00. So I asked for a manager. John handled the situation poorly. I told him it was a younger person, tall. with light hair. He basically said he had no one that worked there that looked like that. He completely dismissed that I had talked to village green employee and never apologized. I understand that mistakes are made, but it was not handled correctly. I decided to drive to Platt hill nursery on Randall rd in carpentersville. I now have my Japanese maple and several other plants. The pricing was substantial lower and selection was amazing. It is a little bit of a drive but definitely worth it.

Great selection of both garden and outdoor living items. However, where I prefer to support local businesses over big box stores, the prices are getting too high for my bank account. I will likely return for spring plants and a patio set, however, soil amendments and the alike I will have to seek out elsewhere.

This establishment is easy to find, and parking is very convenient and free. There are multiple entrances that are all very accessible even with adaptive devices.
The whole place is decorated beautifully and surprisingly clean for a garden center.
They have about anything you would need to plant or decorate any outdoor space from the dirt to hanging plants and everything in between. The prices seemed on point for everything we purchased. I can not speak to how well the little garden plants we purchased will produce as this is the first time we have purchased plants here, so I will update in the fall.

While people think Village Green is high priced I've done some comparison shopping with plants and find thier pricing to be equal to other places I've looked and in some cases it has been lower. Not going to say you won't find some things higher but for the most part very competitive for plants they grow. I like being able to go in and ask questions as their plant people are very knowledgeable. With the patio and interior furniture - you get what you pay for. Want something that will give you a few good years buy cheap stuff. Want furniture that will last - you're going to pay more for the better quality. Do you expect the same things from a Buick that you do an Audi? I love local business
