I filed an online change of address form and got confirmation yet this post office ignores the request. They don’t even check if someone else’s mail is in the mail they put it my mailbox which is almost weekly!STOP PUTTING OTHER PEOPLES PRIVATE MAIL IN MY MAILBOX AND FORWARD MY MAIL like it says to! USPS makes you pay to change your address but hasn’t followed through on the forwarding.

Jackie is the only clerk working at Poplar Grove and I’m sure it’ can be overwhelming. The question is why is there only one person working there. I think she does an amazing job. She refers people to Belvedere where the Supervisors are. They have access to the sites to assist customers. That’s what they get paid to do. She’s doing her job!

Jackie is a hard worker, she is willing to help out with anything. She goes above and beyond what you need and works alone. Very happy with the service she provides there.

I called this morning to check on a parcel they claim was attempted to be delivered the woman who answered the phone was extremely rude and claims she nor the beleivdre post office could not help me track the package. The tracking online says it is at there location and she said no carriers have been there for over 10 years. I will be reaching out to someone in managment to try to get this to stop.

“jacky†doesn't want to help anyone with anyone thing and is quick to tell you to contact belvidere if you have any questions, for that reason I ask what is the point in jacky having a job if she is no good to anyone or anything? The drivers from here are garbage as well scanning packages as delivered when they haven't been so they can end there route early and not get dinged.... my suggestion is get a PO Box in belvidere and don't allow packages to be handled through this miserable place.

Funky smell when you walk thru the door. Produce and meat are not fresh. Would rather drive further to Walmart or Meijer where you don't have to examine under a microscope to ensure the product isn't expired before I even buy it. I would LOVE to shop here and if the owner/management reads this... PLEASE clean it up so we all can shop there or sell to a chain who have their stuff together. Maybe if you invest in employees who care, or staff enough workers, the product can be tended to. I don't know what the problem is, but your reputation is REALLY not good... like REALLY not good. Again, super disappointed we can't shop there. Hope you get it together. Thanks!

Absolutely terrible. A significant amount of my wedding invitations & thank you cards never made it to their destination (or back to me), I am always getting someone elses mail. I mean always. There is mail often that I am waiting on, and either never recieve unless the sender resends it, or it comes 3 weeks later than it should've. Bills that have never shown up. Not even the same name, street name, or house number. I have went down there multiple times about this issue, it is still happening. This is absolutely outrageous.

I'd like to like this place. Because it's close to myhouse. But it's really bad. I really go out of my way to not go here. I ended up shopping here last minute today. Everything I picked up was expiring in a day. Who wants to buy product that expires in a day? I went to the deli and instead of giving me the big juicy broasted chicken out front they gave me the obviously nasty tiny pieces In the back. They look like they've been sitting there for a week. This place needs new management or something. Cuz it could be a really nice place to shop. No one is going to pay for overpriced expired groceries, when you can go into Rockford for cheaper fresher groceries.

I only give this place 2 stars because it exists out here, otherwise it would be a zero. You would think being in a small town, you would be able to walk in to a place specially the post office and be greeted with a smile and decent/great/reasonable customer service. Not here. Lesley, the attendant working gave us an attitude like i have never seen. Extremely rude, Unbelievable.

A place we absolutely cherish being Poplar Grove residents. I remember living here when there was no grocery store and am so thankful to have Pacemaker. Yes, their prices are typically higher than other larger chain grocery stores, but that is not necessarily always the case. Also, those other grocery stores are all about 10 miles from Poplar Grove, which is basically an hour trip with travel even for just a few items. Not to mention how great it is to be able to support a local, family owned establishment. Their meat department has a great selection, and prices are usually well below Rockford's. Their grocery selection is absolutely sufficient. They do not have a huge selection but rarely do they not have the things we're looking for. Their deli area does not disappoint either. We occasionally get their fresh made hot food. They have a small walk in cooler and a pretty decent wine a liquor selection that is attached to their gas station. Hey have also recently added a little coffee shop with pastries that also has an area for eating and a room with slots. My wife has had a lot of luck winning money to pay for our groceries. She also likes how welcoming the gambling room staff has been. They offer complementary soft drinks, coffee, and snacks. Now to areas that need improvement. The produce section is sometimes the worst I've seen. We've had to go somewhere else to buy produce because they didn't have anything fresh. I understand that it's probably hard for them to afford to order and waste as much as the bigger stores do. It is just a little frustrating for our family as we eat so many fresh fruits and veggies. Their seafood section is almost nonexistent. They only offer frozen seafood and the selection is extremely small. And lastly I would personally like if they improved their craft beer selection. None of the local places have a very good selection in this regard and I think they would really benefit from designating an entire section to new, popular craft beers. In closing, we are huge supporters of this local, family owned grocery store and will continue to support them. If you are a critic of them, just understand that places like this can't afford to lower their prices to match places like Walmart and survive.

If you show up to use the self service machine right after they close the counter, be ready to help people for 10 minutes before you can use it.
