At first we were very pleased with our purchase of a 2013 Toyota Tacoma, it was pretty much everything we were looking for. Purchased in April th A/C quit putting our cold air in June, thought it just needed a charge but my mechanic said the moment he added the refrigerant it sprayed out. He put the truck up on the hoist and found that the unit had been worked on recently, so, because of this, I believe at least the service dept. knew there was a problem but let the truck be sold anyway. Love the truck but disappointed in the after service.

We had a great experience at Autohaus buying our daughter her first car. Mike Carnegie was great. He was easy to work with and made sure our daughter was familiar with all the cars safety features. Everyone was very friendly and bonus they were doing an event with puppies for adoption that day so she got a car and puppy cuddles.

Unfortunately, our experience at this dealership was not pleasant. What was planned to be a short visit just to test drive a model in which we were interested, turned into a long master class study of why people hate going to car dealerships. After test driving a car we found ourselves trapped in the car dealership game of being stranded in the salesman’s office while he has to take every question to the sales manager. Each trip he made was 15+ minutes and he must have made 7 or 8 trips - it was tedious. At one point my wife put her head in her hands and asked “why does this have to be so painful - can’t we just sit in a room together and discuss this like adults?”

I’ll start my review by saying we normally try to deal private party and avoid dealerships. However, my experience with Autohaus of Peoria has made me trust dealerships again. From the initial contact I made about a vehicle I saw on Autotrader, though the moment I drove my vehicle off the lot, I could not have asked for a better experience. Malyk and Justin were super responsive to all of my questions, and their negotiations were fair and transparent. I was driving 5 hours to buy this vehicle, and they were very patient with my questions and requests for additional pictures and information.
Once we arrived at the dealership, Justin was welcoming and organized. We test drove the vehicle and there was a minor issue with the rear view mirror. It was addressed within 20 minutes. Paperwork was well organized in spite of a computer network issue. The dealership itself was welcoming and comfortable, with friendly staff.
But the driving-off experience really topped the day. The paperwork was signed that we were buying our 3-year-old vehicle with no implied warranty. Justin went out with us to put on the temp tag, and the auto lift gate wouldn’t work. At that point he could have wished us well and sent us on our way, but he didn’t. With their service department closed for the day, Justin literally printed out an IOU for us to have the lift gate repaired at our local dealership at home, with Autohaus or Peoria paying for it. I was so impressed with that gesture. Luckily for everyone, the lift gate was just toggled to “manual” on an obsure button in the console, so no repairs were needed. But Justin was going to do the right thing and pay for the repair. Oh, and they also had a full tank of gas in the vehicle for us, and it had been detailed and was spotless inside and out. Such great customer service!
I was very well satisfied with my experience with Justin and Autohaus of Peoria.
