Kevin is the best ever pharmacist. I had a procedure at Northwestern and was prescribed a medication. I called Osco sand spoke with Kevin. He researched my question and suggested I wait and talk to my Doctor . Through his research it was determined that 1 of my drugs was not compatible.Northwestern Pharmacy confirmed Kevin’s research snd told me to stop immediately! Thank you Kevin. You were a trueLifesaver. Kevin is a true blessing to Park Ridge Osco patients,Anna. Pharmacy tech is so kind snd helpful. She always looks out for me knowing I cannot shop for too long without severe pain so my prescription is always ready. She is a wonder! Thanks to Anna for going that extra a mile.you are an angel.

I called to ask if they needed any help to support efforts in protecting their staff and shoppers as I noticed that the baggers were not wearing gloves or masks. The answer was very defensive and I was told they have all the supplies they need and the employees have the option to wear these protective articles. In the crisis we are in, I believe these should be mandatory to protect the employees who are doing an amazing job and the shoppers. Additional comment- Why are the stockers wearing gloves and masks but the people coming into contact with our community, including our elderly community, are not wearing masks or gloves? This includes the cashiers and baggers.

The staff is not always nice or helpful and the store does not carry the same merchandise selection as other Jewels.

I have lived in Park Ridge for 12 years. I will never go to this store again. Without fail every time I went in the past at least one item I went to purchase was expired - in more than one case (canned vegetables) it was by YEARS. I tried to point this out when I could - dairy was a very risky gamble here if you weren't diligent about checking. Had one checker fight with me over the fact that I couldn't tell him exactly what items were expired - I scooped up all the ones that were expired by a few weeks but there were many more in that same case. How about someone check this - isn't this a main job with the dairy department? My last purchase at Jewel was where I ended up not being able to get what I came for - once again, expired. All of the item I was getting were expired (dates btw, which take months to expire. They expired in January and I was shopping in May). Brought them to the manager. He gave a curt "thank you" but not one other word and immediately turned away when I mentioned I was tired of this happening. He could not have cared less. Goodbye Jewel!! You have many competitors in the area - I'll buy groceries at Walgreens before I come back here.

Jewel pays their employees crap, so no wonder they're miserable. There are a few cheerful ones but on the whole, the rest seem in need of some anti-depressants and a significant raise. One person in the meat section said he got minimum wage and then had to pony up for union dues, so actually was earning below minimum. It seems they are trying to keep up with Marianos but really doing a 1/2 a** job. I go there bc it's convenient but for good meat and produce I go to either Happy Foods, Whole Foods or Marianos.

Shopped here today for the last time! Went to the butcher area where once again, the one person working it was in front of the fish section working on re-icing the fish section. He asked if I needed something and did not look happy when I said yes. There was a sign in front of the bacon that I ordered that said buy one, get one free. There was also a sign on the chicken next to the bacon that said the same thing; and yet another sign in front of a third item further down. I asked about getting the "free one" and the guy said it didn't apply to the bacon. The meat manager came from the back and was the obviously upset that he had to waste his time with a customer. He actually said that anyone would know that the three signs were all for the chicken and not the three items. He was very belligerent! He asked how could I possibly think the bacon was bogo - buy one get one? I said because you have a sign in front of it. He said the sign was for the chicken. The store manager came over and was very apologetic and said the sign was misleading and offered to give the bogo deal. I thanked him but said the was his meat employee and manager acted was unacceptable! I went to Mariano's, got fresher and cheaper food and will continue to go to Mariano's thanks to the rudeness and ignorance of the Jewel employees!

The store itself is ok, but the outside is disgustingly FILTHY. There is always garbage everywhere along the Busse Hwy side, around the edges of the parking lot, and behind the store on the north side. In addition to garbage there are cigarette butts EVERYWHERE around the store. Has to be 10,000 of them. They are in every crack in every sidewalk leading up to the store. Very gross.

Most of the employees are awesome and always make my experiences pleasant! Its the cashiers that act like they hate everyone, their jobs and their own lives that made me give this place 2 stars(the older ladies). Saying Hi and trying to be pleasant doesn't even work.

The deli people mix their salads WITHOUT gloves on with their hands not utensils. Gross! I witnessed this and reported it. I have had to call corp headquarters because the managers these days at thIs Jewel have no respect for the locals and think we're snobs. ( heard these comments from them) All the long- time workers that are still there are fantastic but there is such a big turn-over in managment that it is clear this Jewel store needs some appropriate planning is many respects.

This is a smaller Jewel location located on Greenwood in Park Ridge. It is usually pretty crowded on weekends, but has a pretty large parking lot to accommodate the crowds. The main drawback here is the narrow aisles which can be hard to navigate if another customer is nearby. The back aisle is filled with pallets of promo items further complicating the shopping experience. The assortment in this store is somewhat limited compared to other Jewel locations. They made some renovations a few years ago, but it is still kind of a bare bones location in my opinion. The produce section isn't that great and I would much prefer shopping at the nearby Mariano's. Also, it seems like they have a disproportionate amount of floor space dedicated to general merchandise - the Osco side of the store is always a ghost town. Lines here get very long and stretch halfway down the aisles. It is confusing if you are coming from the back of the store and quite difficult to move lanes if you get stuck in a slow one. This location serves its purpose, but if I need to shop at Jewel I would rather drive to one of the Niles locations.

I do not normally speak up... but I will no longer put up with rude customer service! The one gentlemen in the frozen area is miserable. I had two encounters with him; once a few months ago and never said anything until now. I had him double check a price for me and he couldn't have been more rude and appalled that I had the audacity to ask HIM for assistance. I just visited tonight and he was there; mumbling under his breath. I said hello to him and looked at him THREE times and he still continued to ignore me! Not a smirk, smile; nothing! Please train your employees that they represent a brand. Love the sales and will continue to shop local if need be; or take my business elsewhere. Cheer up; it's 2018!

The lines are very long and I've seen people packing their own bags. What's up with that?
