“When your in the mood for tacos, this place is the BEST around!! They keep changing the prices, now it's $2.50 each but it's well worth it. The portion size of the taco is loaded, since it's not a resturant. There are no tables & you order your tacos at the back of the store where they sell the meat. Love ? coming to this place for some Mexican tacos.”

I believe the other ladies follow her behavior, blindly to keep her content. However, the food is worth a few minutes of terrible service.”

“I wanted to personally thank Jonathan in the Deli department / counter. He was working all by himself on Sunday, September 3rd. I had a fairly large lunchmeat order that he was helping me with. There was a rude, ignorant woman who was being nasty and asking Johnathan why he was the only one working the counter. Jonathan kept his professional demeanor while he finished serving me even though this woman kept making impolite comments.I want to make sure that Jonathan receives the praise that he deserves because he was really wonderful. “Tian Lai is a little grocery store but they pack in all the basic necessities anyone cooking Asian cuisine could generally want. The store is well kept and prices are fair for the area. They have pantry items, sauces, baked goods, snacks, fresh vegetables, and frozen items just to name a few of their selections. Some examples of items I saw when shopping:- Baby bok choy- Dark and light soy sauce- Star anise- Black cardamom- Mei fun noodlesService was speedy and prompt. If you're in the area Asian grocery stores can be limited so this is a decent option for supplies.”

“While Jewel consistently has a wide selection of items and solid deals, especially if you pay attention and use the app, what really stands out to me, and makes a shopping experience memorable and pleasant, is the staff. The staff at a store are the face of the store, and the variable that stand out many customers the most. Whether I bought toothpaste, cereal, soup, or produce, it is the people helping me find items, greeting me, helping me check out, making friendly small talk, etc are what I remember most about my shopping trips.That said, I would like to give a special shout out to a consistently positive and outstanding member of this staff, and someone that the store, and the members of the community that shop here should be thankful to have as part of the Palatine Jewel team, Keith. In the 4 years that I've been coming here, Keith has consistently been a positive staple of my shopping experiences here at Jewel. His positive and calm demeanor always puts myself and other regular customers at ease, and there have been many times that I have seen him keep his cool, act professionally and tactfully in the face of adversity. Whether it be a rude customer, the POS systems going down, getting pulled in many directions from customers, fellow staff, etc., Keith always seems to be one step ahead of the game and is able to prioritize and effectively address any problems or impending tasks at hand. Not only have I seen him work with extreme proficiency, but he always seems able to do so with a smile on his face and a positive attitude that clearly has a contagiously positive effect on those around him, including employees and customers alike. I am always happy going into this Jewel and seeing Keith working because whether I've had a bad day, good day or need help with something, I know that Keith is consistent in that he will be a positive note in my experience. An additional shout-out to Mike, Pat, Heike, Jan, Billy, John, Dan & Andi for always being positive and helpful as well. You can easily find all things you are looking for because their store is organized, clean, well-sorted, and bright. They have signs and labels in their different store sections, so that all of their customers can see where they can get all the things and stuff they need so quickly. Their place is convenient, easy to find, and they are near also to other well-known place in the city. They also have parking lots for you to easily park and take your time doing shopping inside. “We love this location. Devlyn and Rose waited on us and they were both so pleasantly kind and accommodating. My daughter loves the brownies and they warmed one up for her and gave her a water cup. It felt like family was waiting on us. We were the only customers and they were very nice to my 9 year old daughter and had a conversation with her. They really made her day and took this picture with her! We will be back again when we are in the area for sure A+ service. So clean and located in the Mariano's.”
