After a late night at work I pulled in for gas so that I might be able to make it back to work the next day, with a coworker I was giving a ride home in tow. I waited to get out for the gas as I didn't wanna interrupt any of the clusters of people that left me feeling a little nervous for whatever reason. Something felt off as I explained to coworker when he asked how come I tuned vehicle off but didn't get out. After responding some even sketchier guy on a bike stops on the passenger side of my parents vehicle apparently familiar w coworker. I didn't want to be introduced and headed in to leave them to talk privately. Came back outside to find the work vehicle my parents had loaned me surrounded by every kind of cop u could imagine. Guns drawn and pointed at the vehicle I was headed to pump ⛽ I had just prepaid in. I had no idea what it was I must have missed but the guy who was at the window appeared to be being apprehended. Eventually he was as well as the coworker. I was super thankful for the Illinois state Police officer who was quite friendly when I asked what the issue was and explained that I had been driving the car. I was fortunate he was there, as idk that I would have been helped as much with anyone else. A city guy was the opposite of friendly w me, which I tried not to take personally figuring he was just trying to ensure I was being honest. After a min tho he seemed to make clear he just thought suspiciously of me, even accusing me of lying about how I knew my coworker. There was a lot of commotion that evening, tho I didn't cause it or have a clue what it all pretained to. Again thank God for the kindness of state trooper for helping fill me in on why the attention had turned to the car I drove up & believing me. There were tons of officers, one even in a gilly suit! I thought a shooting had occurred. Thankfully that wasn't the case and they were able to apprend some guy who had been carrying a stolen gun before anyone was hurt. Hopefully that remains the scariest trip I ever have here. This stop had me feeling like the one in Metropolis wasn't as bad as I had thought. Be safe at your gas stations they're getting too real

While not an updated 5-star amenities laden convenience store, the crew here welcomed & treated me like family, not a stranger. They reinforced my notion of local establishments over national chains in spite of the technology void & associated marketing blitz of their competitors.Thanks Huck's!

I’d give zero stars if I could. I regularly go to this gas station for my car and work van. Slowly this gas station has gone down hill. The credit card readers have been falling apart and not working. They never have printer paper in the machines which is important as a business owner. Today I prepaid $20 it took 10 min to fill $16.30 of gas and then the pump shut off and would no longer pump. Two pumps were out of order and the one other person that was filling up said she prepaid $25 and it took forever just to get to $2.20. My partner also just got a notice that there is a pending $100 transaction on his credit card from there after he was there a couple days ago. That was not his transaction. He had spent $40 in gas. I highly recommend to stay away from this gas station. This was our favorite place to stop and it’s sad that it has gone down hill.

Wow things have really changed at that stores over the years, staff is friendly but alot of sketchy characters hanging around. wouldn't such this place for your gma late at night for sure.
