Dr Anwar diagnosed me with kidney cancer. Upon presenting me the treatment options available he did, in my opinion, misrepresent the facts. He, again in my opinion, overstated the complexity and possible consequences of one option while understating the same for another. Had I been given what I feel is an honest and unbiased description of both options I would have chosen differently. I believe I was subjected to unnecessary pain and suffering all due to, what is in my opinion, a misrepresentation of facts. I could not in good conscience recommend this particular practitioner. Again, this is all my personal experience and is all my own opinion.

On February 21, 2024, I was scheduled to go to Urological Associates, PC in Davenport Iowa for a fertility test that was ordered by my primary care doctor. As I arrived the lady at the front desk told me that they do not bill insurance companies for this test as it is not covered by insurance companies and I needed to pay the $200.00 out of pocket for it. I mentioned to her that the VA is not an insurance company and this is the second time in the last month that they have tried to get me to pay out of pocket for something that the VA is covering as I was sent here by my primary care doctor. She informed me that I needed to pay the $200.00 now to provide the sample for the fertility test or I can reschedule it for a different day and pay the $200.00 then. I ultimately paid the $200.00 to provide the sample just to get it over with.On February 22, 2024, I spoke with the lady that is in charge of all of the insurance issues. She informed me that she has a family member in the VA and that she isn't a veteran herself and she knows how the VA works as she was informing me that the VA is an insurance company. She also stated that I do not know what I am talking about and that this is my problem and not hers on me getting reimbursed for something I shouldn't have had to pay out of pocket for. I informed the Community Care team in Iowa City about this and they called this place and the same lady informed the community care team the same thing that she informed me of and was very disrespectful to them.I cannot express how discouraging it is that they treat their Veterans like this. The both times that I have been there it has not been a very pleasant atmosphere.

Jenny Kolwey, ARNP was very friendly and professional! She was very easy to talk to and answered all of my questions! She explained things so they are easy to understand and she gave me tips to try, which worked very well! I would definitely recommend her!!?

Doctors are knowledgeable and competent; I especially like Dr. Rohlf. He takes his time and is very thorough. The nurse practitioners need to work on their bedside manor. They seem impatient with questions, even though sometimes it is necessary to ask if something isn't completely clear and understood by the (paying) patient.
