“This is an updated review, from my previous 1-star, negative review. I am happy to say that the other individuals from both East Chicago locations, have now retired!! Now, we have new younger staff. Forgive me if that’s a horrible comparison, but then generation we will in today encourages proper communication. These new people carry on a conversation, they are friendly, and they are definitely there to help you; they are not upset or bitter (yet)! I hope these individuals continue being the familiar faces for the years to come, even if I don’t go to the post office that many times in a year. Thank you, upper management, for taking the time to see who was already working for you, and hopefully see this position as a promotion… customer service, is not easy!! Thanks again — PS, thank you for taking the extra time for finding the black envelope that my dad said was to be returned to sender! -FC”
“My mail carrier, Jon, rocks! He’s so friendly and personable. Ashea is also friendly and helpful and friendly. When my mail carrier goes on vacation, that’s another story. My packages go missing...9 in one week disappeared with his sub. It seems some of the postal workers are incompetent, but some do care about the customers and their packages.”

“Nice little low visibility US post office at the north end of strip mall off Ridge Road near Calumet Avenue. Has all the usual offerings you would expect, and it was a nice clean facility. When we dropped in there were two operators working the counter, and they were efficient and very friendly.I had made a passport appt. - which the system did not show, but they processed me anyway. Some reluctance to accept my military ID (which post office main web site says they accept). Many post office locations get bad reviews, but this one was very nice.”
“I’ve been shipping so many packages from back to college shopping, since I was not able to send them directly to my college, and the staff here has been so helpful and accommodating! Prices are also very reasonable.”

“I went to this post office and was greeted at the door by a man in a Batman costume. He was nice and gave me a half eaten sandwich. Delicious mustardy. I even found free gum on the underside of the counter! How Nice! I even found 13 cents and a Tootsie Role on the floor! Amazing!!!”
“I find the staff helpful. I love how they decorate for the holidays, even ones that I don't celebrate. Now I rarely have issues with the packages I mail out. There were some problems mailing out packages during the beginning and height of the pandemic, but no more delivery problems now. I trust this post office. Regarding the frequent uncleanliness, I spoke to the P.O. manager. They share a custodian with at least 1 other post office. So that is the reason that it often looks messy. I even offered to vacuum for them, but they didn't have a working vacuum cleaner. These are hard times for businesses, please remember, it takes a village.”

“We are so fortunate to have this Post Office staff in our community! Our carrier Sue is phenomenal. I think our dogs like her more than us. The deliveries are on time, and we often get a call to make sure a delivery that is time sensitive was made from the local Postmaster. If I could rate them higher than Google's five stars, I would.”
“Supervisor Quinton is so nice. I LOVE how he loves his job and he is so quick to communicate with ALL his customers about anything. I use to live in Highland for 9 years, moved out in December. Our mail guy was such a friendly man too. I am very surprised about the bad reviews. Maybe these people are just having a bad day. On St.Patrick's day my baby is turning 1. I ordered a few items that were getting delivered to my old address. I was able to call the post office and request for them to hold for me as I need for the party tomorrow. Eventhough someone had already helped me, Quinton reached out to me personally to let me know he has the package and their closing time. Now this guy Quinton deserves his position and needs a promotion if you ask me. I LOVE THIS! This man saved the party! Thank you to whomever trained and hired such friendly spirit! You guys are such hard workers and are AWESOME!”
“Cindy is awesome. Customer service is top notch, clean building, passport service was quick and easy. Make an appointment online, have your documents ready and go right in. Took about 15 minutes total, with them providing me with the picture as well. Picture cost is same as walgreens; just take it here. Good job!!”

“I had a situation and Donta sent me off. I went to another post office and they told me to go back to Harvey. Raven was a gem and I appreciate her going to the extra effort. I had to come back and edit this review. Because I received a follow up call from the post office and they made sure that I issue was resolved. If I remember the rep. who me was named Darryl. He was professional.”
