“I've been to all the dollar general's in my area. The one in Beach Park, Zion, Winthrop harbor, this one is the best stocked with lots of options also it's one of the only stores that doesn't have a lot of boxes in your way.”

“I worked here for nearly a year and recently moved on but I continue to shop here. I loved my coworkers and I had the absolute Best manager ever. Everyone who works there has something to offer and is a good asset!! But too many times actually almost every day we would get terrible, entitled, disrespectful customers that would contribute to making our jobs harder. But aside from that… This store is probably the best Dollar General in Waukegan! I still get greeted when I shop and I’m able to have a good laugh and get what I need.”

“It's good to see this store now has hard working employees who are actually stocking the shelves and cleaning up the store. For a long time they had some pretty terrible employees who would be very rude to customers or just stand there on their phones watching tv. They have a lot of new products now as well too! “ESMERELDA THE STORE MANAGER is a RABID RACIST.She loves to harass and racially profile innocent black people and accuse them of theft.She did that to me today and thank God a another black woman told her that I didn't steal anything!!!! She never apologized and I'm never coming back except for my attorney to drop off the lawsuit papers against her and Family Dollar. Black people don't shop here at all!!! I would have gave 0 stars but people need to SEE this!!!”
“I came to this store this evening because it was on the way back home and I needed to get a few things. First thing I noticed was that this store was much more well-kept and organized than the other one in my area. While I was in there, there was a rude customer that had quite the mouth on her, so much so that my husband actually took my little children to the other end of the store. There were two workers there that I saw, Taylor the cashier and an employee named Jebriea who was on the receiving end of the foul mouthed customer. I wanted to say that I was so impressed by the absolute professionalism of this lady. I would never had been able to handle myself with such control as she did.
We were able to find everything we needed, and when we checked out the employee apologized for the customers behavior! They were amazing. We got to the dollar store at least 2 times a week, but because of this experience with this particular store, we will be coming exclusively to this store from now on. (Did I mention how CLEAN it was compared to the other one???)
All in all, I recommend this store to anyone who cares to read my review. And a shout out to whoever hired the employees..... You picked some good ones.”

“Many items available at $1.25. This is a must stop especially at Christmas time for gift wrapping supplies including gift boxes. Ornaments for the tree or decor, and other harder to find products.
Only drawback is a shortage of help at checkout. Store usually crowded during weekdays. Other handy household items available all year long.”
