We had our windshield replaced at home. The tech had to do a little extra work from a prior windshield replacement. He was friendly and cleaned up his mess. We did have one side piece come loose but were able to get another appointment scheduled for a quick repair. Automated system is painful to use.

Absolutely beyond frustrated. I had an appointment scheduled 10 days ago. Show up for an appointment to only to be told that my car is throwing an error message about lane keep assist and they claimed that it wouldn’t have anything to do with my windshield being cracked. Now mind you, I have been driving around for 10 days with this crack and never once did that error message appear for me. The shop does a code run and guess what… no code appears. So they offer to do the work, but say I have to sign a waiver not holding them liable. Then when I’m hesitantly about to proceed with the work they tell me they still can’t do the work because they don’t have all the parts to do the windshield replacement because they don’t have all the correct parts. Then I’m told to “not hold it against them” for not having the right parts because it’s not their fault. I mean they only knew for 10 days that a 2024 Honda CR-V be coming into the shop, but I guess ensuring you’re prepared for doing a scheduled service is beyond the capabilities of Safelite.

Exceptionally disappointed. Replaced my cracked windshield with two aftermarket windshields that showed distortions, promised an OEM replacement and was told after I dropped off the car there for the third time that no OEM glass had been ordered. Waste of time, do not recommend using them.

I'm extremely frustrated with the service I received from Safelight in Fairview Heights, IL. I scheduled an appointment to have my cracked windshield replaced, only to be told an hour later they couldn't do the job because my VW was throwing a code about the lane departure system. When I consulted a family mechanic, he confirmed that the code wouldn't clear until the windshield was replaced. It's unreasonable for Safelight to expect me to resolve this before they'll do their job.
And it’s not just about the windshield!
Getting this day off was a battle. Our team is already stretched thin, but I fought for it, rearranging my schedule and begging my boss to give me the day off. All so I could get my cracked windshield replaced, as Safelight promised. But after an hour of it being in their possession, they dropped a bombshell: no replacement for me.
Here's the part that really grinds my gears: this could have been avoided. A simple heads up would have saved me all this hassle. "Hey, we might not be able to replace windshields on cars with error codes due to liability reasons." Or better yet, Safelight could invest in their technicians so they can handle these "high-tech" issues. It's not like smart cars are a surprise anymore.
As things stand, Safelight has lost a customer. I'll be finding a replacement service that respects my time and can handle the basics. Safelight's priorities clearly don't include customer needs, so I'm taking my business to a company that gets it.

Their is now a dent from when they replace my glass on my trunk windshield…not to mention I paid 470 and when I open my trunk you here glass. Techs didn’t remove trunk panel to get it out any glass that feel through…(mind you I had a center whole in the windshield) that money spent out of pocket to get a poor replacement…my original appt was cancel by staff to come out saying it had to be in a garage…when I see other reviews showing they came out and the weather had barely any snow like another review image on here … they was a hr behind I didn’t mind the wait but to get poor service like that Trust me Go somewhere else to get your car service paying that much and the window isn’t even a match to my last one please shop around before making a decision

My insurance company scheduled my window replacement at the wring shop. When I got to Safelite in Alton I found out it was supposed to be Fairview. The Alton manager was suoer nice and called Fairview to let them know I was headed their way. They said no and I was told to reschedule. Clearly Safelite Fairview could care less about taking care of customers who have already been inconvenienced.
