I worked with the manager Mike to sell them a high end rower machine. The price offered was fair and all the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. I highly recommend this location!

I love that we have someplace local to bring sports equipment that has been collecting dust. If they can’t take something, you can walk it over to Goodwill.

I don't know what the deal is with this place but this place provided no customer service at all. I called ahead of time to check if there were roller skates and was reassured that they had some on stock so I drove 20 minutes only to get there and find none on the shelf. I went to the front desk and the guy wouldn't look up from what he was doing when I asked for help. They had a teenage kid working there that ultimately answered me and went to get the owner who brought me a pair from the back. No one asked how I was doing, if I needed help or anything. When i went to return the box the guy who ignored me suddenly looks up and asks " all good?" as if I was going to buy. So you can't look up to answer my question but you will to take my money? I just walked away from this place. Someone else mentioned below potential racial bias (I'm a young black woman) so maybe that's it and if so that's really shameful. Won't be setting foot in this place.

Spent 40 minutes driving here just for it to be closed 2 and a half hours early with no sign on their website or door saying they are closed. Whenever gonna bother coming here again or recommend people.

Only my second time at this store and both times I have left VERY impressed!!! To start, the employees are high school-ish age and are so polite, which unfortunately is not always the case, but has been consistent on both of our trips here. Once meeting the owner it is not hard to understand why- he sets such a great example for his employees! On both of our trips he went above and beyond to make sure we got what we needed, which today included putting my 3 and 5 year olds to work pumping up balls to keep them entertained while he adjusted skis and having an employee help load things in the car. I definitely took a risk bringing a 5 year old, 3 year old, and 3 month old to a sporting goods store for skis (which is my husband's sport, not mine!) on my own, but the awesome staff made it a successful trip! We will definitely be back!

My son’s hockey team ordered a embroidered tracksuits from Play It again in Evanston. My son’s name was spelled wrong so Mike said they’ll fix it but before that he made sure that it wasn’t my mistake on the order.My response was “no problem, it happens”. A week after I picked up the tracksuit with the fixed name and paid the full price of $155 for it. When I got home I noticed that there’s a small hole in the back and called Mike to let him know.I brought it back and after I didn’t agree on $10 or $20off, he started yelling at me. We agreed on 50%off for the jacket if he can fix it.Today he calls me and tells me that 3 different places don’t want to sew it because it’s going to be visible and suggests that I buy a patch to sew over the hole.When I asked for my money back so I can buy a new jacket and bring it for embroidery myself, he accused me that I’m a scammer and suggested I’ve done the hole myself! I got a refund and was told to never come back.No need to say that I was treated rude, unfair and unprofessional by the owner Mike even though none of this was my fault. Instead of taking responsibility for their mistakes and make the things right for a customer, he preferred to lose a client.I’ve bought almost all of my two sons, my husband and my hockey gear from this store and the young people who work there have always been helpful and polite.

I really appreciate how friendly and helpful the workers are here. They're alway willing to look for equipment and sizes and even offer advice. So many talk about "teens these days" but the ones who work here are really polite and friendly.

I walked all the way to Play It Again to look for a bicycle. I had bought one from the location on the south side a few years ago. All of the used bikes were the same price as a bike I can purchase brand new at other businesses. Customer service was lacking as well. I walked all around the store and was not greeted nor asked if I wanted some assistance. Will not be back. I'm not saying I'm not going to ANY Play It Again store, but it won't be this one!

I love this place!! Mike helped my handicapped husband get on and off exercised bike's so he could get the right one for him and offered to bring it to us!! What a guy!! People like this have special hearts!!! Thank you for everything,

Purchase a bike and was not what we expected. Spoke to owner Mike and let him know that sale boys on staff that day where not so experience and left some information out was told. That we need another part and would be 30-45.00 dollars and was actually 98 dollars purchased it through Amazon after going back and forth within the course of 4 days. Due to no answers on text messages which that was good Mike was like text me personal. But was told to bring part in by Matt the repair guy on Thursday would be there and work on the bike. Dropped off and was waiting to here back that bike was down and ready to go. However nothing again for 2 days. After told would be done by Friday. Called in on Saturday 1- bike was no where to be found. I assume he sold it. Once I asked for money for the part I ordered she actually gave me box back and they never opened it so he never intended to fix the bike. It was a chain ring so my son could change gears on bike. Terrible service. They do need more attendants that know what they are doing and no don't leave bike unattended also. I felt bad for my son as he really liked the bike and owner also very very rude. I first called him to inform in of all that happened. I ask for a refund but I wanted to give them the chance to get it corrected and we did get part. He yelled at me and said I sell 300 hundred of theses bike and if I don't antes refund he yelled on phone tell me now so I can do but he said he doesn't do this. But like I said I gave them the chance to get done. But they never intended to do anything since day 1. Even me paying out of pockets for the part.
