This might be one of the worst hertz I've ever been in my entire life and that's a tall order considering I rent cars all the time.For starters there's no such thing as picking up a car quickly at this location. Expect to be here 30 minutes to an hour no matter what.I booked I guaranteed vehicle. It was a long-range Tesla. I planned an entire one month trip with the expectation I would have a vehicle that had 300 plus miles to a charge. I arrive and magically there's no Tesla here for me. They have a standard one.I'm like I paid extra for that one and he's like oh I'll just give you a discount. Then after saying that he's like oh haha just kidding I can't actually give a discount because it's more expensive for the lesser mile one.So after not keeping the car that I booked several days ago in stock and available for me as required they instead want to give me a lesser vehicle and then charge me the same price as the better vehicle, after having told me verbally in person that they were just going to give me a discount to make up for it. And then he tried to justify it and said oh let me explain It's because I'm like it's because you lied to me.I will give credit where credit is due even after I ranted and cursed at the person who said they'd give a discount and then backed out on it They didn't stop us from renting.

Very disappointed by this place we normally rent from Enterprise but said let us give this place a try since is right by the house. Never again will we rent from here ever ever again! We reserved a Tesla Model Y two weeks in advance and when we got there we were told they didn't have it and they offered the Tesla Model 3 now keep in mind one is an SUV and one a sedan so how does that even make sense? They had no explanation as to why they didn’t have the model Y. We left with the model 3 and when we came back to return the vehicle guess what was there the model Y was, the only explanation I have is that they had multiple reservations for it, and is on a first come-serve basis! But don’t take my word for it read prior reviews same complaints sounds to me like this is a case of click and bait scenario where they put stuff that they don’t have up just to get you the door and take whatever they offer you and not what you reserved! Shame on you that’s not customer service. You get 1 star only because there's no option for none!

Amazing staff here. To be very honest, the folks working in the Evanston locations make all the idiosyncrasies of the corporate giant (overbooking etc) they work for, way less problematic. They really try to find solutions and you know they are on your side. To add, I witnessed a local woman and her child bring them homemade Christmas pastry for being great and helpful. So it's not just my impression. I do recommend arriving with extra time because it gets busy etc.

Insane Incompetence.It is astounding that this place is still in business. I was there yesterday to pick up a car that I reserved and already paid for. So were three other people. We all arrived one after another, and we were all told the same thing. None of our cars were there waiting for us, even though all of us had prepaid! Instead all of us were offered a Tesla. None of us wanted a Tesla. They had no other cars available, just a parking lot full of 11 Teslas.The first person was told he could have a car, but it was on it's was from another location. I was told that another car was due to be there within 30 minutes, it just had to have a windshield wiper replaced. The older gentleman behind me was told they had nothing for him and the regional manager, Eric or Ken. There were two men working there I don't remember who was Eric or Ken. But the regional manager told the gentleman all he could do was call their 1 800 number and try to get another car at another site. The regional manager dialed the number for the ma then refused, REFUSED to talk to the person on the 1 800 call to help the man. The man ended up leaving for another location with no guarantee the car he needed would be there.As I waited for my car to come in with its new wiper, a young college student came in and was told the same thing. That even though her family reserved and paid for her rental, it wasn't there. The regional manager did the same with her. He dialed the 1 800 number and left the office.The first person's car showed up but there were issues with it and he couldn't leave. I was told that my car was now having its tires replaced and would be at least 2 more hours. The college student was still talking over her options with the 1 800 office, offering her no real solutions.At this point, I canceled my reservations, got a full refund and left.After posting this, I look forward to the obligatory form letter the owner of this location posts that will begin with. "Hi, Ronald. We’re extremely sorry to read about your experience at our Green Bay HLE Hertz Car Rental location..."This owner obviously doesn't care or something other than platitudes would be done about it.

If I could give less than half a star I would, non existent service and rude customer rep.Had a reservation and got asked to sit because there were people ahead of me, didn’t even allow me to state a had an insurance company reservation.Building was hot and there was no bathroom.Save your time and spend your money else where. Cancelling my Hertz Gold Status and signing up for Enterprise rewards.

I made a reservation for a pickup truck at the Evanston location on October 24th with a pick up date on November 17th. More than 3 weeks in advance. At first I had difficulty getting information through the app and online. I tried calling but couldn’t get through to a person. So one day I stopped into the Hertz office and got the card of Andrew the branch manager. He initially seemed helpful. However, I later wanted to make a change on the reservation timing. He said to call the morning of the reservation and see if I could pick up the vehicle earlier. So I called at about 8:30 on the day of my reservation. They said not only could I not pick up the vehicle, but that they didn’t have a truck for me at all. I asked what they could do. They offered me a Tesla which was not helpful at all given that I needed a truck to transport some cargo. Then I asked if they could provide a SUV or van that might work. The answer was no. They couldn’t help me at all. They couldn’t arrange a pick up from another Hertz location. The offered no apology, no explanation, and generally no customer service. I didn’t know what to say. I have never experienced such a lack of service or even the illusion that they cared. I canceled the reservation. Zero out of Five stars. I do not recommend counting on Hertz or this location for any of your travel needs.

Worst rental car experience of my life. Had a 10am reservation and car wasn’t ready until 2pm. This four hour delay caused my son and me to miss a hockey game for which I had paid $150. Hertz would not refund anything. I highly recommend avoiding this location at all costs.

Booked a car rental a month in advance, arrived on-time for the pick-up, and they had no cars available. They attempted to contact me while I was in-route to pick up the car to let me know that there were no cars. Despite having had a reservation well in advance, they had no cars available for anyone at all. Go to Enterprise on Maple in Evanston.

Ask for Andrew!!! Super friendly and helpful guys at this location and Andrew managed to squeeze a Tesla in as a rental last minute when all other hertz locations said it’d take a week. Prepped and had the Tesla ready the same day!! Life saver while my car was in the shop getting fixed.

It Hertz me to think about ever having to step foot in this place. Avoid at all costs! I would rather poke my eyeballs out with a hot poker than go here again. The employees literally look like they haven't showered in weeks and are rude and slow. They don't bother washing your car until you are there to pick it up-That's only if the guy washing cars has finished his 10th cigarette. Expect to wait at least an hour to do anything here! Literally just dropping off your car takes an hour and there will be a long line of pissed off people in front of you. This location should be shut down. I can guarantee Hertz corporate has never set foot in this location or they would have shut it down. Believe the reviews, do not go here unless you want to have a horrible day.

Waited 2 hours for help. The guy was nice but 2 hours is a long time, and they only had the 1 guy working. Felt bad for him, but he did a good job.I edited this because the car they gave us was terrible. The key fob was faulty and we were stranded out of state without a way to start the car. When we called Hertz, they were extremely unhelpful and refused to help. I’d have expected better.

Avoid this place at all costs. Rented a car a month in advance and they didn't have the car nor offer an apology or a replacement. I rarely write reviews but recommend anyone to choose another place to rent from or be prepared to be disappointed.

AVOID AVOID AVOID! If I could give this place zero stars I would. And this is coming from a completely factual and unbiased experience. Hear me out, we had booked a car reservation for 12PM, we get there and the car isn’t ready. Little did we know that this is only the beginning of our problems. The manager makes us wait 30 minutes and says the vehicle we want, a Tesla has to be cleaned so it’s not available. My husband points towards a Tesla that he preferred and asked if that that one can be taken. The manager mentions that it’ll take 40 minutes to clean. So we head out to bide the time. Mind you we had a reservation for 12. Fast forward we come back an hour later and he makes us wait another hour. Then he proceeds to give the WRONG car. My husband tried turning it on but it doesn’t. We mention that this isn’t the correct and he argues that it is. Ends up making us wait another 40 minutes and realizes he gave us the wrong key once my husband points it out on the contract. Nearly 4 hours down the drain dealing with an incompetent manager and understaffed facility. Please for god sakes avoid this place.

To succeed, a rental car business must do two things: It must (1) have cars, and (2) have those cars available at specific times for people who have made reservations. Failure on both criteria.I made the reservation for a Saturday morning, eleven days in advance. I chose this spot because it was walking distance from my AirBnB, and was the only rental dealership in town that would allow me up drop off the car at a different location. Two hours before my scheduled pickup time I got a call letting me know that they had no cars, thought maybe they could expect cars sometime that day but didn't know when, could not say how long after receiving the cars they would be ready for pickup, and that if and when any cars showed up I would be eighth in line to receive one.I don't usually give 1-star reviews. But I can't emphasize enough that this is a rental car dealership. If it does not (1) have cars (2) to rent, then what is the justification for its existence? Glad I hadn't paid yet - Hertz gets its 1 star out of 5 for making the cancellation process extremely quick and easy. I paid for an Uber to the airport and rented a car from Enterprise. Worked out fine and it was $40 cheaper.
