Tom is an amazing artist and I am proud to say that I have been in a background bomb shot in one of his paintings! He hosts many private events in his space as well and they all seem to be quite satisfied with his spot. An anchor here in the WOW district of Humboldt Park, he is friendly and courteous and always watching out for his neighbors. A true asset to all of us here on the west side.

A friend of mine hosted a surprise 50th b day party for her husband at this establishment. It was nothing short of a horrible experience. Party was scheduled to end at 1am. The owner pretty much stalked us the entire time. (9pm to 1am) He did not approve of our choice of music. We are African American. The party was classy but the owner was NOT. He insisted that we shut the music off well ahead of our scheduled end time. I would not recommend patronizing this establishment. We ultimately moved the party to a different location.

Interesting art crowd, and even people who enjoy conversation on important issues! The 2011, "Smart Phones, Dumb Laws" event was held here, which included Chris Drew,Street Artist as he battled the Illinois Eavesdropping Law. pro bono attorney, Mark Weinberg, was also a speaker, with others.

There's always something to surprise you at Tom Robinson's Gallery. A whimsical project in progress for Red Moon Theater, a show by women artists, incredibly painstaking mosaic portraits, inventive fashion by students of the School of the Art Institute, articulated flying whales, a life drawing session (these aren't so surprising, they happen every Sunday).

Great little gallery! Current show is Jim MacRoberts - a talented woodworking artist, and a real gentleman (a dying breed nowdays). Great art, really fantastic stuff. Incredible use of wood. There was even a few framed kids drawings, and the little artists were in attendance greeting their public. What a fun show. The opening was lively and fun. Lots of snacks and wine for patrons. Extremely kid friendly. Juice was on offer too!
