November 2023 by matthew meyer
I come here just about every day to do laundry for a local theatre company. Today at about noon, the business was almost completely empty which isn’t unusual for a Wednesday at noon. The items I brought were in the dryer and a few people had come in to do their laundry. When all of a sudden a voice came from one of the security cameras calling out to me saying, “I have been watching you on the camera’s for the past hour, you do not have any business here, you need to leave before I call security.”I pointed to the machine I was using while looking at the camera that spoke to me, I don’t know if it has a mic, but I said my stuff was in there. I walked to the main office that had a light on and knocked on the door asking if I could explain the situation. The voice came through the camera again saying it was mistaken and to carry on.I have reason to believe that I was being singled out because I currently have a very scraggly beard and a giant puffy jacket. I wouldn’t be shocked if someone thought I was homeless at a glance, but being anonymously called out like that in front of other patrons was humiliating.I’d love to have a conversation with the owner or management of this facility as to how this issue should be addressed, however their phone number that’s listed has been disconnected since they changed the name to Al’s bubble city.

$3.25 for a small load of laundry is insane, not to mention the washing machines will sometimes just not drain and there’s no one working in here that you can talk to.

It has been a whle since I used this laundry mat as it was always crowder, noisy and dirty. Out of necessity I went at the tail end of July. Surprisingly, Clean, quiet and all machines were well maintained and working. Jeremy, the attendant was very polite, courteous and helpful.

This establishment is open until 10pm, but the last wash is at 8:35pm. I went here to do my laundry and the time was 8:30pm. I knew the correct time, because I left my home at 8:24pm. It only takes me 4 to 5 minutes to get to that establishment. Because I live three blocks away.........When I get there the woman basically sitting down with her back to the front door. I remember having a bad visit that this establishment from the same woman. While she was talking on a phone, with her back to the door. After mindlessly turning around, and acknowledged me at the door. She tells me, while still sitting down. That the last wash was at 8:35pm. I didn't argue with her. I simply shook my head, turned around, and went out the door. That's when she started yelling again at the top of her lungs, with the door closed while sitting down still...... That the laundromat will reopen at 6am. I simply left walked to the sidewalk and looked at my phone...... the time was then was 8:32pm.I when home with my basket, and thought to myself..... what a great job to be open for another 1 ½ hours, with NO CUSTOMERS during business hours. Until you lock your doors at 10pm, and get paid for it.......The best part was when I got home it was it was 8:37pm.......remember it only takes me 4 to 5 minutes to walk there.FYI to the new business owners...... I get it. Employees get tired, and they're ready to go home. But if you're open until 8:35pm. I expect you to be open at 8:35pm not closing the door earlier. Also you might want to change your hours online and at your door, from 10pm to 9pm. Seeing that you lock your doors at 8:30. Then stay open for another 1 ½ hours...........

New name, new owner, new management. All changes in the last month are welcome. My only real complaint is the “mildew” stains built up on the seals of the washing machines. Can we please address? Makes me think this isn’t great for what we customers are washing. I assume if the doors are left open to air dry after each wash this would prevent the issue from occurring. Thanks.

I usually don't make reviews, but the staff gives weird threatening energy from my personal experience. At the end of the drying cycle, I noticed my clothes were still completely wet. I informed the owner about the broken dryer and asked for help and if I could be reimbursed. First he questioned if I paid for the cycle in the first place and said he will need to check the security cameras to make sure I paid. He said that people say they spent X amount of money all the time, and when he checks the slot, it is never the amount that they say. Then he informed me that he will need to check the quarter slot since again, he was questioning if I paid. I told him that was not a problem and he will see that I did indeed pay $1.75. But he decided not to do that. Another customer used the same dryer right after me, and she told him that the dryers window did not feel hot, but the owner didn't want hear it. He then told me that he will not give me a refund. He then told me that "I people like you" and continued to mention that he used to work with the police and has police connections. I don't understand why that became a topic of discussion. At the end, he did give me my money back after going back and forth with him. After this discussion, I was shaken and will not be returning. The interaction was very strange because it was my first time ever seeing the owner or even knowing that he existed, but he started making preconceived notions because I simply asked for a refund for my clothes not drying. I was not given the service I paid for, and I had to go through hoops and obstacles with the new owner to get a refund. I even told him he can feel my clothes and he didn't want to check. He had opportunities to check security cameras, to check the slot that he suggested he needs to do to prove that I paid, but he simply didn't want to, he just didn't want to refund me. Totally a weird experience here that I was not expecting. The owner just goes off into being angry for no reason. The interaction with the owner almost felt discriminatory if I am honest, due to the words, like bringing up his police history, saying that he knows people like me. I can't support this establishment. I also just don't feel safe here at this laundromat, the staff they hire is always just off for some reason.

The short little Napoleon dude named Marshall who works here is absolutely psychotic, confrontational, and he's going to hurt someone, if he hasn't already. It's shameful that "management" actually allows this person to work here. As others have mentioned, he walks around with his crappy bluetooth speaker, blasting his Christian music. Apparently he hasn't heard of headphones, but people that do that are just daring you to call them out on it because they are confrontational.Today this guy asked me if I was doing laundry there. I said "Why else would I be here?" Then he proceeds to go off on me, was verbally abusive and threatening, saying things like "You're the reason brothas end up in prison." The whole time I continued to sit on the bench and just laugh at him and inform him I wasn't scared of him and I wasn't leaving. I eventually had to the call the cops on him though, at which point he conveniently left for the time being. To top it off, while I was doing laundry, someone was robbed at the ATM right outside, and I had to be a witness for the person assaulted. Same laundry trip. I beg of you, common sense people, do not give this place your business. It is an absolute crapshow that is not safe

Used Sudz Laundry for the first time today. I was pleasantly supplied when I arrived. There was a bunch of space in-between rows of washers and dryers and a lot of folding space. I really appreciate that they have top loading washers for people who are sensitive to detergent and don't want any left over detergent like the front ones always have, for people who aren't sensitive to detergent, their front loading washers seemed to work great as well. The dryers works great too! As for the bad reviews that people leave, I think most of the people leaving these reviews have some negative bias toward the people working in the laundry mat, which isn't fair and those people should do some self reflection. I enjoyed the music that was played by the attendant. And another thing to note about the bad reviews, if you don't want to be told that the mat is closing and or have a problem with it, do your laundry during the day. It's really unfair to see people leave such bad reviews when the majority of them are user error. Be respectful of business owners!

I've been going here for God knows how long.As laundry mats go the place is decent. The owner has gone through plenty of employees in past, some have kept the place clean, others have slacked. The current attendent, Marshall, is a keeper for sure. The guy keeps the place tip top,and is extremely personable as well. Makes doing laundry go from a chore to a treat as friendly conversation always makes it better.Anytime a machine breaks, you call in with a prepaid phone and leave a message; the owner is usually pretty quick on responding to fixes. The machines currently work on either quarters (with 3 available quarter machines) and the Pay range app. Dollar store next door if you run out of detergent. Prices for machines range from low to single load machines to about $8 for the huge 8-9 load machines. Dryers are 25¢ per 10 minutes with high heat threshold.

I just went there to wash my work clothes. The man there was extremely rude, turning me away. "I'M CLOSED. LAST WASH 7:30 (I DON'T HAVE TIME TO ARGUE ABOUT THIS I GOT SOMEWHERE TO BE"I'll admit I did argue with him a little, mostly out of disbelief. Last wash is normally at 8pm. I was early.I don't know if that guy is the owner or what, but all he had to do was put up a sign. He didn't need to yell at me.All I wanted to do was spend my money there, and I got treated like this.I guess it's time to find a new place to do laundry.

Please Be Aware of doing your laundry here. I usually do not leave reviews. but this place is beyond terrible from the unprofessional owner and worker to the bad condition of the washers. There is a short black guy who works there who appeared out of nowhere around 7:10 p.m. telling me and two other women that were already there that the laundromat was closing at 8:00 p.m. when it says they close a t 10:00 p.m. He was very rude and cussing at this lady in the laundromat with her small children witnessing him disrespecting this woman all because she he kept rushing her about the time he was closing and she was only waiting for one dryer to finish. There is no owner or no one in there to help to assist customers with this very unstable behavior of this man who claims he owns the laundromat. My money also was not refunded to me when two of the washer machines was not working and i picked up the phone that they have you to use to speak with someone and the man who answered the phone did not give me the money back for machine. I will never come here again .Its a dump in there, all the machines are molded looking and their not working properly and it's unclean and they have a very unstable man working there. ONE MORE THING...... PLEASE CHANGE THE HOURS ON THE LAUNDROMAT SINCE YOUR WORKER IS CLOSING IT AT 7:30 p.m.

Their prices are a bit expensive and they need new dryers desperately. The dryers don't always take your quarters and the insides are all welted up causing snags on the towels. For the amount of money they charge (25cents\10 minutes) they should have better quality dryers.

New to neighborhood, came in Sunday June 5th,2022 after 3pm, Brought $15 in quarters, Ran out of quarters, asked attendant on duty, to swap my silver coins for Quarters,I was told I'd have to go next door for Quarters, I'm a patron of the Establishment, where the Washers & Dryers and full of Quarters, WHY am I told to go next door? Am I also supposed to take my wet/damp clothes with me, to prevent theft? While leaving laundromat to go next door? This didnt make sense to me. Highly Un professional. Guess the Attendant was sweeping to hard to stop and Help a Patron? Perhaps the boom box he was bumping Loud . Blocked out his common sense, WHY? Should I have to leave a laundry mat with Wet clothes? Utterly Ridiculous. Signed a 56 yr old woman, with over 20 yrs in Retail sales/ Pos and Professional Licensed Security Officer Experience. It shouldn't be this hard to be a Laundry mat Attendant.
