Loved our weekend treat at this gorgeous hotel in the heart of downtown.
Walkability: We walked everywhere! But the hotel was so gorgeous we also just enjoyed the beautiful setting.
Food & drinks: Lattes of the day :)
Brie appetizer that I ate most of myself as my husband enjoyed the oysters.

Before checking in, we explored Chicago first and discovered that this hotel only offers valet parking at $79 per night. When we arrived around check-in time, we had to join a second line for valet service. I asked the valet about the process and was told we could use our car throughout the night for the same price.
At the reception, the staff were friendly and helpful. We were given a room on the tenth floor with a street view. The room was clean and as described online, but there was a persistent unpleasant smell in the bathroom that we couldn't pinpoint or get rid of. Overall, a great hotel.
Positives:
• Hot shower with good water pressure
• Large towels
• Multiple electronic outlets
• Efficient air conditioning
• Smooth and fast elevator
• Excellent customer service
Negatives:
• Main light bulb out
• Bathroom door creaked and needed lubrication
• Persistent unpleasant odor
• No refrigerator space for leftovers
Disclaimers: The room's location made it noisy, especially on Labor Day weekend, with street sounds like honking and sirens. This was beyond the hotel's control and may not be typical.
Just two doors down, there's a valet parking garage that charges $60 per night. We used it on the second night to save some money

First of all, kudos to the Pendry for doing a beautiful job of saving and adapting this historic building. The public spaces are gorgeous. Unfortunately the rooms aren't up to the same standard. There's basically no in-room coffee (one serving of no-name espresso), no ice of course in such a fancy place, and, if your room overlooks Michigan Ave, no sound proofing. The room itself was just a white box, although the bed was extremely comfortable. Overall, not a good fit for us and we won't be back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The location was wonderful, as we like to walk and many attractions were within a few blocks. The room was very clean. Noise downtown is an issue so next time I would consider a room on a corner and/ or a higher floor.
Rooms: attractive and spacious
Nearby activities: Millennium Park, Riverwalk, the L
Walkability: In the heart of downtown

It was our first time back in Chicago after the pandemic and brought our 2 daughters age 11 and 12 this time to experience all of Chicago! Perry was extremely friendly and helpful and I felt he went above and beyond. He took the time to get to know us and recommended some kid friendly places for the girls since it was their first time in the Chi. We even changed some of our plans based on his recommendations and I’m so happy we did! The building is gorgeous inside and out! Honestly, from the staff at the front desk, to our server at the bar, everyone was extremely attentive, easy going, and made our stay incredibly special and memorable. Can’t wait to be back in the Chi!
Nearby activities: Millennium Park, riverwalk, the art institute, museums and the Sears Tower aka Willis Tower
Walkability: Great location for food, bars, millennium park, shopping. CVS across the street in case you forgot something!
Food & drinks: Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Restaurants in the hotel but we didn’t get to try any.

Beautiful, lovely hotel. Room was great. Bed so comfortable. Service amazing. Gym is fantastic. Restaurant wonderful. Staff just so friendly and accommodating. But… 4 stars because they generously give out water in small bottles and they don’t recycle. It hurts to think of all of these thousands of bottles in the trash. It’s a huge issue and a disservice to our environmental woes. Also, being on the 22nd floor it’s still noisy from the street but nothing can be done about that.

This was one of the nicest hotels I have stayed at in a long time. Everything was great, from the front desk check-in process, to the bar, and rooms. Location was great for walking downtown and proximity to the El Train. Rooms we nicely appointed, clean and comfortable. We definitely would go back.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Pendry.
The Hotel is situated in the heart of The Downtown Loop, super convenient.
The staff are amazing and helpful.
The rooms were super clean.
They made this Tea Infused Lavender drink daily that was addictive and refreshing.
Make sure to ask the concierge what the secret word is in order to get a complimentary liquor drink at the bar in the lobby.
Loved that they had complimentary bicycle rentals.
My only complaint is the rooftop bar was always closed early in the evening.

The hotel is beautiful and the service is great but that does not make up for the fact that the rooms are ridiculously loud. This is the loudest room I have stayed at in my life.
We were moved from the 5th to the 20th floor and the noise level is still absurd. The building must be lacking much needed insulation. If you are looking to sleep while you stay here, I would not recommend staying here. If you do not need to sleep, it’s a great hotel!

I was picking up my friend Jana this afternoon at the hotel and at the corner a the bellboy, made me stop in the middle of the street trying to open an automatic trunk of my car and it take around 4 seconds to open and he knocked hard the back window door. I had to go out from my car telling “it is not going to open if you keep pushing the button and this person said “you do it” and left Jana’s suitcase in the floor in a bad mood. That is my complaint.

Don’t let stupid people book events and then act like your business making money is more important than people sleeping.

I stayed here with 9 coworkers to prep for a big client meeting, and Pendry staff was incredibly hospitable, our catering was delicious and rooms were wonderful. Gully Nassiri particularly went above and beyond to ensure we were comfortable as we worked around the clock. I can't wait to stay at the Pendry again. Thanks for taking such good care of us.

CAPTIAL ONE PREMIUM COLLECTION!
This review is for people who booked the hotel through the Capital One Premium Collection.
When you book the Captial One Premium Collection. You will have a $100 credit, Complementary breakfast for 2, *early check, *late checkout, *room upgrade. The asterisks means when avaliable.
I book this place for a getaway weekend (Saturday & Sunday). This was my very first time ever experience using Capital One Premium Collection. I arrive to the hotel a little later than I would like. I checked in at 2:00pm. Normal check in time was at 3:00pm so I technically did got an early check in. The name of the person that checked me in is Taylor. His customer service was phenomenal. He explained to me all the benefit I have for using the Capital One Premium Collection. He showed me how to use my $100 credits along with the complementary breakfast. Everything was charged to my room and all the credit will be applied during my check out. Taylor also acknowledge that I will have a room upgrade when available with my booking. I originally booked a king size corner room and I was upgraded me to a king size tower room which is on the higher floor. After checking in, Taylor escorted me to the elevator.
I was on the 29th floor which I circled on the picture as you can see. The higher floor definitely made it feel more premium as there was only 3 rooms on that floor. The overall room was phenomenal. The white carpet and floor made the room look bright. The bath room has a big standup shower where you can your significant other can shower together if you want. The window in my room was facing the north side. The room also has alcohols and candies, but you would have to pay an arm and a leg if you used it. I didn't touch that. I'm very happy with the room.
If I can say one negative thing about the room that would be the street noise. Even on the29th floor, I can hear cars going by. This doesn't bother me at all, but to other this might be an issue when you're trying to sleep. Something to keep in mind.
I ate dinner at French restaurant called Venteux to use my $100 credit. My wife an I orderd a meal called "Dinner for 2" which is a 22oz steak. I thought the food was pretty good and I was definitely full at the end. My overall bill for the dinner was around $170 including the tips. I really only had to pay $70 with my $100 credit.
Since I had a complementary breakfast for two which is a $60 credit. My wife and I went to the Venteux Café and ordered a croissant, egg, bacon sandwich along with a coffee and orange juice. My bill came out a little under $60 including tips.
I had a late checkout available for me which means instead of checking out at 11:00am I was able to check out at 1:30pm. You have to talk to the front desk after 7:00am so they can see if late check out was available for youl
The hotel was in a great spot because you can walk to the Chicago river. I give my experience a 5 out of 5. The dinner & breakfast was great. I have to thank Taylor for this because he really provided me with great customer service. He really took his time to explain everything that comes with the Captial One Premium Collection work. He also provide me 2 water on our check out.

Food & drinks: Extremely overpriced food and drink!
Noteworthy details: Rooftop closed although sun was out. Apparently the cushions were damp… Why have cushions in Chicago???
Room service time was unacceptable.

We'll stay again if we ever go back to Chicago.
