Bad in every aspect. Don’t waste your time, energy, or money here and go somewhere else, for you and your pet’s sake. The front desk rarely correctly submits insurance claims despite saying they will do so after every visit, the techs manhandled my dog in another room then lied to me about it, and the vets don’t even attempt to act like they care about my dog’s wellbeing and would rather try to upsell me on countless tests and vaccines every time I walk in the door.Went to Family Pet for our first visit and the vet there spent more time actually examining my dog than all of the vets we saw at Oz in over a year, combined. If you value the health of your pet, your time, or your money, I highly recommend not stepping foot in this place.

This review is only relevant to the booking process. I cannot comment on the quality of medical care provided as I never got the chance to bring my dog in. I tried to book an initial new patient appointment nearly three months out. As I am struggling financially, I did not have the $100.00 required deposit to hold the appointment. So I got a message that the appointment was canceled the appointment. I don't see why they could not have held the appointment until at least closer to the March date before demanding money that I did not have. I love my dog but if I have to chose between feeding my family and a vet visit its obvious.

Rogers Park location: My dogs have had good care here but it's either a matter of them being too busy or too unorganized because they seem to have the utmost difficulty filling a simple prescription. Every.Single.Time. and my dog kinda needs his insulin.

Do not reccomend. Forces vaccines on you. Won't give care unless vaccinated even if your dog has had deadly reactions to them in the past. Titers way over priced. Small exam rooms.

This place is great. We actually followed our vet (Dr. Katz) from another office because we liked her so much. We've got a senior dog who's starting to run into health issues and they've been wonderful. Calling to check on him, explaining test results and treatment options, researching new treatments...can't say enough good things about Oz and Dr. Katz.

The staff here are really nice but they are terrible at communicating. When I moved back to Chicago, I took my dog to Oz so they I could get him up to date on everything he needed. Not only was the process not clear, but I've been back 3-4 times to catch up on vaccines because it was never clear what was needed and when. It took them two weeks to decline my dog's heartworm medication request because he was due for a heartworm test in January. Well.. why didn't they mention that the last 3-4x I went?I will not be returning. VCA has always been more communicative, organized and prompt.

Lovely people. Outstanding care and attention. We were new patients and our old vet couldn't see us when our cat needed urgent care, but we were able to get an appointment right away with these folks. Definitely our new vets from now on!

Not a big fan of this vet. I’ve been going for a year and have spent thousands of dollars. One time I got my prescription for my dog refilled and they gave me the wrong meds. When I called two months later, they said they had nothing in their system that says they gave me the wrong meds but they were for a completely different organ. So I didn’t get refunded or even apologized to. They don’t seem super knowledgeable and are a bit all over the place. The people are very nice though.

We were very well received, and the doctor who attended my Lion was very attentive, I can only thank her for her care and attention.

Update: After leaving a negative review, management immediately followed up with me to help make it right and knew all the details of my visit already. I am impressed by their dedication to creating a positive experience for all their clients. The issues I had were validated, supported and documented. I also have no doubt that there will be action taken/some policies already in place to address this. Combined with the uber friendly front desk folks and passionate/kind vet techs, I believe this place will do everything they can to take care of your pet despite my initial experience.

Been taking my dog there for 8 years, and he has been a pretty happy and healthy pup. However recently he had a non preventative medical issue and I have to say I was very underwhelmed with the quality of care. From misdiagnosis, to broken machinery it was a comedy of errors. If you just want to get your pet their shots they are very nice and friendly, but if you need real medical attention go somewhere else.

Have been taking our dog here a couple of years, but for routine issues. She has an infected paw and after 6 months it is still not well. When we tried to see the Dr. last week she said she has exhausted her efforts and would recommend we see a specialist, but had no referral. We ended up seeing another vet Monday and by today they have diagnosed the problem and have a plan to finally address. Oz is very disorganized and overwhelmed and have junior doctors. I would not recommend for even basic services as they are not equipped to handle anything serious.I have to update my review as this place truly is horrible. First, an update on our dog. The new vet found cancer cells in her foot and they had to remove her toe. This should have been diagnosed at Oz months ago, but they didn't do the test and are too junior to handle or too lazy to ask a senior vet to examine our dog. Dr. Pinhasi had no clue how to treat her paw and wasted a lot of important time and money with solutions that had nothing to do to solve the issue. The fact that it was cancer is infuriating as I even suggested she look at that and remove the toe if needed. To top it off, I received a call from the "mgr". Kyle after my review was posted. I went through the issues that I have had for 6 months and he looked at our file and even said that we saw one of the "visiting" vets a couple of time and they had complaints about her, so she would not be coming back.He asked what they could do to make it up to me and asked if I would consider taking down my review. I said to start they should refund me for all of the money I wasted without any results for my dog's issue. He said he agreed and that he would speak to the owners and "fight" to get my fees (over $2000) refunded. Said he would call me back that afternoon. It's been 2 weeks now and I've not heard a word from Kyle. Shows the type of place they are running. I guess the owners care more about their bottom line than addressing a serious issue with a customer who's pet was misdiagnosed for months. The fact that my pet has had to suffer for 6 months due to the inexperience of Oz's staff should be a warning to everyone!

I’ve been so happy with my experience at Oz after having a really awful experience at another vet. I’ve been taking my cat there for a couple of years now. I love that I can email or text them if I have a question about my cat’s health, and they will have a member of their medical staff review my question and make recommendations before having to bring her into the office. My cat gets very upset going into the vet and they take such care to make sure her experience results in the lowest amount of stress possible. Dr. Katz in particular was especially helpful in providing advice when I had to bring my cat to the emergency vet. I will definitely continue to bring my pets to Oz Animal Hospital.
