Highly suggest reading this review before signing with Open Path: I am not someone who leaves reviews, but I felt the need to leave one about Open Path Realty. Working with OPR, specifically Hector has been the worst experience, to keep it blunt. We had countless issues within our unit: - Drier burning clothing and items - Water heater leaking - Water damage on ceiling - Keys to mailbox not working MOST OF WHICH ARE EXTREME SAFETY HAZARDS. We had to send countless emails, texts and calls. Most of which were not even answered. When I personally tried to address concerns with Hector I was talked down to, it was only when my boyfriend called that things happened. I felt a huge sense of misogyny when speaking with him. Always trust your intuition, like I should have trusted my own when looking through the reviews before moving into a unit that was under OPR. Our drier caused our clothes to burn the first week of moving in, while also setting off the fire alarm and carbon monoxide alarm. This issue came back a few months later. Instead of replacing the drier, which is a fire hazard, they would not. Finally after 7 months of living there it was replaced, but continued to burn our clothes up until we moved out. I had to call the fire department at some point because our carbon monoxide alarm was set off for the second time. As previous reviews have stated Hector does not hire in trained professionals to do the job correctly. Therefore, you will be left having to report the same issues over and over again. Hector and his maintenance people told me I was not drying the correct things... LOL are you kidding me? They also left the new drier in the middle of our unit for a week after continually changing the date of when it would be put in. We also had water damage on our ceiling and were told it would be looked at, but hadn't heard any updates about it after asking multiple times. Another large concern is that we were not notified some of the times OPR would be coming to our unit. I was once working from home and heard a knock on the door, while making my way to the door (which takes less than 10 seconds) Hector was already unlocking it! As a female, or anyone for that matter that is frightening and ILLEGAL! Hector is a liar, he lied countless times to us. So ALWAYS make sure to document conversations with him because he will come back and try telling you that "he never said that". We ended up having to break our lease early because we felt unsafe living in our unit. I won't go on, so I can save you some time, but if you take anything away from this let it be DO NOT SIGN WITH OPEN PATH REALTY. I also feel awfully terrible for the women working at the front desk.. she was great and made sure to always talk to us respectfully and address our concerns. And we also had great encounters with some of the other employees, so I won't speak down on those who were helpful to our situations.

Just got a great apartment with Open Path. Our agent Agustin was attentive and communicative, always keeping in mind our preferences and needs. He spoke up on our behalf and was friendly.

Open Path Realty has been great help for my clients. Very resourceful company that can help you with most of your Real Estate needs. From purchasing, leasing, renovations and property management, they do it all. Beyond happy with their level of support. Ask for Augie. Lastly, Mario is the office pet. Having a friendly office dog like Mario creates such a warm and inviting atmosphere. It's always nice to have furry friends around in the workplace.

Today is move-in day! We were a little nervous about the turn around time because it was less than 24 hours, but we are extremely impressed!! Agustín took the time to repaint the unit and payed so much attention to detail while cleaning. The place feels so fresh and clean like it’s brand new! This attention to detail took a lot of stress out of move in day for us.

Stayed at one of Hectors Airbnbs in Bucktown. Free and close parking was available, which in the city is amazing. Conveniently located to restaurants and stores within walking distance. The place was clean, clutter free, and private. The only complaint I would say, is there was only 1 towel and 2 of us. Other than that the place was perfect for the two of us since we live over a hour away and it's hard to have fun with our friends when you have to drive so far away. Catching a Uber was super easy as well. Hector made the instructions very simple and easy to follow. We will definitely be using this place again and again. Thank you Hector for being such a great host and look forward to staying in this spot and are hoping to stay at any other properties you have available.

Do not sign a lease with this "company." They are unethical, unsafe, and unprofessional. I wish I had read these reviews before I signed a lease; everything mentioned in the poor reviews happened to me. 1. No snow removal EVER. The only access to my apartment was on metal stairs which was completely unsafe after it snowed. (I never received a working key for the front entrance to the building). 2. No lighting for the outdoor area of the building one had to walk though to get to their car. It was a hard no to install any security cameras, so I installed my own. 3. Heat/Central Air broke numerous times. Maintenance repeatedly canceled scheduled appointments due to "an emergency at another building." They don't have enough maintenance employees and the ones they have are incompetent and disrespectful. 4. Woke up in the middle of the night to my smoke detector downstairs going off. After realizing there was no fire in the entire building, I find my dishwasher had backed up, flooded the kitchen, somehow went through to the second level through the fire alarm, and flooded the lower level. My personal carpets were ruined. I was told after two different visits from maintenance that it was fixed, and it continued to flood and mold was growing downstairs. 5. Washing machine wasn't working properly; running, but not cleaning. After multiple visits I was told it was fine. Finally, they brought in an actual appliance repair person and it was was in fact broken. Appliance company delivers my new washer/dryer; Hector was too cheap to pay them to install it, so I had to wait even longer for his staff to connect it. Best part...we find out they ordered the wrong washer/dryer!! It wasn't compatible with the apartment. So have to schedule more appointments to get it out, get new one in, and wait again for Hector's staff to install it. Walls were damaged with bringing the appliances in and out. Mind you, I had to be home (I took multiple days off work and was greatly inconvenienced) to let employees in the building for all of these visits. 6. Stove didn't work for months. Again, they assume I don't know what I'm talking about and think I don't know how to work it. It was finally replaced 2 months before I was moving out. 7. Not once did they take care of the outdoor property. There were weeds as tall as the building growing and the building looked abandoned. Piles and piles of trash and leaves were under the metal stairs, up against the lower floor windows so that they couldn't be opened, and up against the air conditioners causing malfunctions. 8. When maintenance did come they left garbage all over the property; their own personal drinks and food wrappers, and even nails, splintered wood etc. Not safe. 9. Blinds on the first floor were literally falling out one by one. The ones remaining were filthy no matter how hard I tried to clean them. I was told I'd have to replace them myself. 10. Shower/bath tub backed up continuously. 11. Communication with Hector was AWFUL. He treated me with the utmost disrespect and unprofessionalism. 12. With all of this, they tried to charge me $100 more for rent for my last 2 months (I was going month to month while trying to find a new place to live. They weren't renewing my lease). For my last month, they didn't accept my regular monthly rent of $1,650. Instead, they're now trying to charge me THOUSANDS of dollars for not paying $1,750. (I never signed a lease for the 2 extra months I was there; didn't agree to paying $1,750). I will be fighting this in court. I have evidence to back all of this up. Luckily, I have lawyers in my family. AVOID ALL OF THIS BY NEVER RENTING FROM THEM!

Open Path has been a great partner for over 10 years. They helped us buy and sell properties as well as manage our investment properties. They handle it all! Would definitely reccomend them if you want to start investing in real estate.

I have been renting with them for the past three-ish months -The apartment itself has had issues just like any of Chicago's older buildings... but they are *very* responsive with my requests. I have put in 4 maintenance request and all have been resolved before the end of the next day. It means a lot that they do what they can to make sure I have a comfortable apartment. I really appreciate that.

I worked with them to host a very special girls weekend party for my best friends. We had a private rooftop pool party at stunning home in West Town on a beautiful Sunday summer afternoon and it was amazing! The list of amenities goes on and on: pool, hot tub, outdoor kitchen with grill and large fridge (for mimosas), lounge furniture, sound system, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, and an impressive view of the downtown skyline. They even had a massage table available onsite so we booked a professional masseuse to give us massages throughout the party. (Inquire about this service.) We all felt super fancy and spoiled. All my friends were raving about how awesome the party was. Highly recommend working with this company for your special events- even for a small group.

I use open path reality for event planning, they are extremely accommodating. The price was perfect for us and I plan on recommending hector and his service. I plan on using them again.
