I recently visited Open Books in Logan Square, and it was a surprisingly enjoyable experience! Even though I’m not an avid reader, I found the atmosphere of the store to be warm and inviting. The space is filled with a diverse selection of books, from popular bestsellers to unique finds, which made browsing quite enjoyable.
The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, ready to assist with recommendations if needed. I appreciated how they seemed genuinely passionate about books, which added to the overall positive vibe of the store.
I found it interesting to explore the different genres and see what caught my eye. There were plenty of intriguing titles that piqued my curiosity, and my friend left with a couple of books that he's excited to read.
I also admire Open Books for its commitment to promoting literacy and supporting the community. Knowing that my purchases contribute to such a worthwhile cause made the visit even more rewarding.
Overall, if you’re in the Logan Square area, I recommend checking out Open Books. Whether you’re a book lover or just looking for something interesting to explore, it’s a charming spot worth visiting!

Open Books is a treasure! I could have spent hours browsing. There’s a great selection of used and new books. I got a new to me copy of short stories. Fun way to spend an afternoon.

A fantastic bookstore with a very broad selection. I found books here that I haven’t seen in any other used bookstore, and I found plenty of them too! Their second floor has some great sections that I was impressed by. My one complaint was the lack of A/C. It was a hot day, and it felt 10 degrees warmer inside than outside. Regardless, I plan to become a regular!

LOVE THIS PLACE. Of their locations, this is the only one I’ve been to so far, but it’s definitely one of my favorite bookstores in the city. I love stopping into Open Books and killing an hour browsing every nook and cranny. Their fiction section is extensive, but I am personally always floored by their art books — so often do I walk out with new essay collections and art theory books. Their prices are great as is, but I also think their yearly membership is an absolute steal.

What a space! So much larger than you’d expect at first glance. Can sometimes get a bit overwhelming to navigate due to the scale, but the staff is always happy to help. Really great selection on the shelves and wonderful displays on the tables near the front.

I love Open Books! I usually frequent the west loop location but I’m so glad I trekked up to the Logan Square location! The selection definitely varied and the atmosphere of the store was more spacious. I think the pricing is always fair so it’s a great way to buy books in a more sustainable way!
