While the West Loop is a desirable area for its safety and lifestyle, my experience at Luxe on Madison has been significantly overshadowed by the management's disregard for pet safety concerns.Despite multiple attempts over several months to address potential safety hazards, particularly concerning my older dog, the building management has shown a consistent lack of response. This negligence has unfortunately resulted in my dog suffering an injury, leading to further limping and distress – a situation that could have been avoided with proactive management.Interactions with the building manager, Gabrielle, have only added to the frustration. She has been dismissive of these serious concerns, failing to provide the promised follow-up and I doubt she ever will. She has put her had in my face and told me to calm down as she walked away. This lack of professionalism and empathy is alarming, especially given the community's reputation.Given these experiences, I must advise potential residents, especially those with older or previously injured dogs, to reconsider moving to Luxe on Madison. The current management’s approach does not seem conducive to the comfort and safety of vulnerable pets. While the West Loop area itself is appealing, the management at Luxe on Madison falls short in addressing and prioritizing resident and pet safety concerns. It’s disheartening to feel the need to look for another place to live due to these unresolved issues. For anyone considering this community, I strongly recommend inquiring about the management's track record in handling safety issues, particularly for pet owners, before making a decision.

AVOID THIS PREDATORY LANDLORD AT ALL COSTS!We’re currently in a nearly three-year long dispute with Luxe’s multi-billion dollar parent company over a sum of $165, which our correspondence with building management confirms is baseless.Nearly two years after moving out, they informed us of an “outstanding balance” that contradicts the explicit directions/feedback of their own building managers. The parent org (Greystar) is trying to renege on that agreement and convince us we’re responsible for the decisions/disorganization of their own, local employees.Documentation that supports our position was provided to Greystar/Luxe and they repeatedly refused to acknowledge it, while pushing to only deal with us over the phone — which I think was a strategy to keep all of this out of writing. We even went as far as offering to pay the still-disputed balance after a few months so it wouldn’t affect our credit, but Greystar never sent us a link to submit the payment. We never heard from them again, until they sent the balance to collections about two months ago. Now, it’s a scar on our credit report and we have no choice but to continue contesting it through all available means. That process started with a written dispute to the collections company (Genesis) and we re-submitted our documentation, which we understand will supersede a lease agreement under Illinois law. After “reviewing” our case for 30 days, collections only sent back the lease agreement as “validation of debt” with no further context. Here’s where it gets even more insultingly entertaining. The document they shared is not complete or the most recent agreement we had with the building. On top of that and after looking at the document more closely (because it's the first they've shared any "documentation" for the debt with us), we realized the sum they’re arguing we owe is actually in excess of the notice clause they claim we violated. That’s right, apparently everyone involved from Greystar CAN'T EVEN COUNT TO 3O without a mistake. We’ve notified the collections agency of an inaccuracy, but they have continued with collection efforts anyway and claim it’s “valid” until Greystar deems otherwise — ethics, legalities and misrepresentations be damned. For years, Greystar has been trying to bully us into accepting a balance that is a result of their own internal dysfunction. Now, they’ve brought in hired muscle to help — and this is all over a measly $165.Apparently, we’re also not the only ones they’ve put in this situation! Another former resident on Yelp shared an almost identical issue in their review, and I’m sure shenanigans like this are the basis for Greystar’s “F” rating from the Better Business Bureau. Both of those are easy to find, and I encourage prospective tenants to do their research. Unless you’re open to being extorted, I’d suggest running away from this place as fast as you can.But that’s not all. Our experience at Luxe was more than lackluster. We had urine and excrement from the rooftop “dog run” in our unit on multiple occasions during our tenure, we could clearly hear neighbors/pets through the building’s paper thin walls/floors, and almost all of our appliances — washer, dryer, garbage disposal, air conditioning — broke during the three years we lived there and the building was less than five years old at the time of our move-out.In retrospect and from our experience, it seems Greystar has made the decision to invest in the personnel and partners needed to shake down former residents, more than the construction or maintenance of its building. Management was kind, but turned over multiple times during our tenure — Tara, Alexa, Akeem, Marc and others. They were all similar, and unfortunately that translates to inexperienced, undertrained and overworked.Any other option in this neighborhood would be better than signing a lease with Luxe/Greystar. These are the people that give the real estate industry in big cities like Chicago such a terrible reputation.PROTECT YOURSELF, AND GO LIVE ANYWHERE ELSE.

In my past two years at Luxe on Madison the staff has been nothing but accommodating. The maintenance team is phenomenal from their work to their care! The neighborhood is comforting and overall quite for city living. Don’t want to live anywhere else in Chicago!

I had an extremely disappointing experience during my time at this apartment building. The management's handling of our concerns was beyond frustrating. When our Roomba vacuum was stolen from our unit just before our move-out inspection, the management pointed fingers at us, claiming we left the door unlocked. Despite our requests, they didn't share any video footage or address the issue properly. We even filed a police report, but the management brushed off our pleas for help.To make matters worse, Jason from the leasing office displayed a shocking lack of professionalism. He not only refused to acknowledge our situation but also went so far as to be condescending. It's disheartening that he dismissed the fact that our belongings were stolen, all because of their alleged oversight during the inspection.Leaving behind the vacuum was an honest mistake, with five days still on our lease. The only plausible culprits were residents, management, or maintenance. The fact that the management failed to take any responsibility and ignored our repeated attempts to resolve the situation speaks volumes about their lack of accountability and care for their tenants.I wouldn't recommend this apartment building to anyone, given the negligent management, unprofessional behavior, and complete disregard for tenant concerns. It's important to be aware of these issues before considering this place as your home.

Our experience since moving to Luxe has been wonderful! The apartment was clean, freshly painted, and in great condition on move-in day. We also have so much appreciation for our community manager Jason, who has been an amazing resource since day one. He really cares about the residents here and doesn't hesitate to help when we've needed it. We're excited to be here and love our new home!

Luxe on Madison has been an amazing place to live. My partner and I just moved in last month, and the staff has been incredibly kind, supportive, and timely with any help we have asked for. Jason in the leasing office and Gil with the apartment service team have both been particularly helpful and a pleasure to work with. And, we love our new unit. I would recommend living at Luxe to anyone!

In all my experience as a Realtor working with property leasing agents, I have never had such an amazing experience as I did with Jason Nevelow. He’s one of the best in the business—professional, thorough and very detail-oriented… and fun to boot! He needs to be cloned!

Tee was extremely helpful answering any and all questions I had about the apartment building or amenities. Since I was unable to view the actual unit, he went through the floor plan and photos quite thoroughly, also making sure to update me on any changes that had been made to the unit (walls painted/carpet removed).

This building has a very nice rooftop and the largest dog run I've seen. The residents are all very friendly and you get to know your neighbors, which is nice. The new staff is amazing, Tee and Akemm. The new manager knows what she is doing and is really taking care of the building. The maintenance team is great and always quick and friendly. I recommend this for West Loop living, since it is close to everything.

We've had the pleasure of living at Luxe on Madison for 3 years and have nothing but positive things to say about the unit, building features, and management. This was a great place to call home and as a dog owner we made a ton of awesome friends here. The building is in a prime location with plenty of new developments to keep things exciting, specifically the West Loop Market right downstairs has been life changing. We have toured many apartments in West Loop during our new search and prior search and it is really hard to beat this place in terms of price, location, and amenities. The dog run specifically is probably the biggest for an apartment in the area which we will definitely miss. We loved this location so much we decided to buy our first home one block away. Finally, Tara has been great to work with and is super responsive compared to previous managers. Thanks for an awesome 3 years!
