Such a great gem of a daycare in our area. Our son loves this place! He comes home so excited to tell us about his day in school.It is clear that the teachers care a lot about the kids, their development in learning, good manners and positive reinforcement of discipline.The facility is clean and well-run and the prices are fair. Overall, this place is a terrific value. My spouse and I strongly recommend it.

Kalina preschool is run by people who truly know the quality of childcare. The teachers love kids, and it reflects on how they run their classrooms. Every time I’ve stopped in I’ve seen the kids doing awesome activities and learning something new. I highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking for quality childcare.

my daughter and I love Kalina! The staff is very caring to the children, my daughter comes back trying to teach me the things she’s learned and she’s only 2! They are very educational and also teach them the proper discipline which I love. I recommend Kalina to any and everyone looking. My little sister went to Kalina, she’s 8 now and loves that I put my daughter in Kalina because she remembers how great they treated her. My sister went into 1st grade exceeding, she knew a lot of the things they were teaching her already. If I could give more than 5 starts I would!

Kalina Preschool is a true gem. Both my daughters have spent their preschool years here and we love it. The teachers are warm and friendly. The environment is clean, safe, and loving. The activities the children do are educational and fun. We feel so lucky to have found this preschool, it is such a special part of my children's lives.

I called to inquire information and a lady on the phone who refused to identify her self immediately hangs the phone on me after asking me "what do you want?" Not even allowing me to speak. I would NEVER RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION to anyone.If your staff has this much attitude and temperament over the phone i wonder how they treat our kids?! No STAR REVIEWS.

You know you found the right place for your child when she’s sad during the weekend because there is no school. What I personally like about Kalina is the personal attention to the children and their development. Their day is very balanced and includes a lot of different activities which helped my preschooler learn so much - new words, new songs and games. When I drop her off I know she’s in good hands!

Our family loves Kalina. All three of our children (2 boys and a girl) attended over the last 6 years. It's a warm, vibrant pre-school with two classrooms for younger and older kids. The class sizes are just right -- not too big, not too small -- and for developmental reasons I like that the older and younger classes mix together throughout the day. The director works hard to have the best school possible; she keeps it clean, organized and safe for the kids. She lives in close proximity and is intimately involved in all that goes on in the school. The best thing about Kalina is the teaching staff. The teachers who are there now are the same as when our oldest son started there 6 years ago. As parents, we value that consistency and it's so important for young kids and their sense of security. The teachers are warm, caring and sincere. They emphasize music, movement, crafts and play throughout the day -- our kids always came home singing awesome songs and toting creative projects. They also learned a lot and were more than ready for Kindergarten. The price is right, too. No other comparable places on the North side, price-wise, especially given the quality of care at Kalina. We recently had to move our youngest kid to a different school due to my new work/school commute. It was a sad day for the whole family. While I really like my daughter's new school, we all miss Kalina!

My daughter started here back in 2009 from the age of 2-6 years old. She loved all her teachers. She was always active and they taught her a lot of things so by the time she went to CPS I would never forget what she said to me "Mom, I don't think they appreciate me. They make me do things I already know how to do". That's because Kalina went above and beyond! Now 10 years later, I have a 2yr old who goes to Kalina! They absolutely adore him and he loves being there! He loves pasta Monday! My son is learning so much it's not even funny. I get surprised everyday.
