I am a board member for a condo association in Lakeview, Chicago that is now self managed (no longer uses a property management company). Our building used Connected from 2018-2022. All of the awful reviews are true: They are unprofessional, unresponsive, unhelpful. But also they are secretive and sketchy too! They would not let current board members have access to our HOA bank account. For months, the only signers on our bank account were Paul Houlihan of Connected Management, and a former owner/board member who had sold and left. Connected ignored repeated requests from current board members to get access to our bank account over the course of about five months. Then, when we finally got access to our bank accounts and were reviewing statements to file taxes, we saw all kinds of charges going in and out of our account to Connected’s account. Definitely looks like some kind of money laundering or embezzlement activities. Next, they were completely unhelpful with any maintenance request. Anytime we asked for guidance or help we were always either 1) ignored or 2) told it was the board’s responsibility to do everything. You would think that they would at least: 1) make sure that proper procedures were being followed, or 2) have helpful recommendations of vetted contractors… But they did none of that. They did a very bare minimum of paperwork, mostly involving collecting money. The only thing these people do is collect assessments and charge fees. A bunch of lazy, lousy, middleman, money-grubbing leeches.

I am thinking of taking them to court if I don't hear from them soon. I have been without electricity for the last wo weeks by now and they are refusing to give the electrician permit to come and take a look. They are saying they are waiting for the board to respond and what I don't understand why can't they just give the board a call. The building is in bad shape. The bricks on the wall by my back door are falling apart and they never check. They never inspect to see if the building needs any repairs. They send someone to clean every two weeks but that person only vacum the front stairs and never check or clean the back of the building which is very fility. Everyone in the building have pets and sometimes the pets pee on the carpet but they never bother to have it cleaned. No matter what I request from them they never respond or help. They are not very helpful and very rude. As long as they get their money from our assocaiton they could care less. In the past I have asked them for invoices regarding a fire in the building becuae they board refused to produce them and the managment didn't help. Like I said they just don't care.

They are irresponsible, hard to reach, and unable to help board of directors make informed decisions. They allowed unlicensed plumbers to do some work in our condo building and this weekend I have no hot water and we have leaks in the basement.I checked with a lawyer and Connected Property Management bears some responsibility by allowing this to happen.

THEY ARE THE WORST EVER!!! DO NOT RENT ANYTHING THAT HAS TO DO WITH THEM. ESPECIALLY IF YOU NEED ANSWERS. THEY DO NOT EVEN TRY TO HELP THE OWNERS. THEY HAVE NO PURPOSE AT ALL. I AM WONDERING HOW THEY STAY IN BUSINESS

As a first time homeowner with an MBA, as well as an engineer, my relationship with CPM has been turbulent. I understand that I am not an real estate or condomnium expert. When I purchased my unit in 2016, CPM was the existing property management company and continues to manage the building my condo unit is located in.There was poor communication when purchasing the unit, regarding the nature of the relationship between the individual unit owner and board association. Perhaps it's because my particular building was not being managed properly when I bought, I discovered a lot of operational, financial, legal, and maintenance issues with the building. As I began to review these items, it was apparent there was A LONG way to go with bringing our building's operations up to speed. CPM has been a hapzard partner in these areas. In leveraging my MBA, I was able to put our building/association on a better legal, financial, and maintenance path. CPM does assist the association by providing accounting and IT services, albeit the IT services are antiquated while I write this review. Our association now utilizes Google Drive, Facebook Groups, and Slack outside of CPM's tools such as discussion boards, email, and NAS file storage. In several of my communications with our CPM account managers, I've received poor communications that were misleading, including legal matters and scheduling contractor appointments. I do like their accounting and financial statements, along with their basic budgeting tools, and the ability to manage HOA online payments.CPM has handles contractual agreements when buying/selling units as well as the rental process, which has been an asset. In my interactions with a CPM VP, it's apparent that there are gaps in service and operational excellence internally. I've suggested to my current board, who are somewhat naive and laid me off several months ago because I've been coherent in my ability to manage, that we were exploring other property management companies. In all, I am continuing to do my homework to determine if there is a better property management company out there for the building.

Connected just collects assessments and pay the bills. That’s it. The agreement says they help with maintenance, ensure the board runs properly and follow our bylaws. They do not help individual owners when you call in them with issues. One of law firms they recommended to us botch both lawsuits trying to collect funds from owners.

Please everyone stay away from Connected. This is a money draining machine. Disorganized, impossible to reach by phone, increase fees annually but poor services remain the same. That’s their business model. We went from them to outsourcing the bookkeeping and other condo activities to a software. Couldn’t be happier.Waste of your reserves. Period.

TERRIBLE management company. If I could give zero stars I would. Team Delta has not done a single thing to work with the condo association and therefore because of their failure to act, the condo association has had multiple violations under the Illinois Condominium Property Act. To list a few:- The unit owners filed a petition, in accordance with the Illinois Condominium Property Act, to have a special meeting. The petition was sent to the management company to notify the board, to which the management company never took any additional steps. Lawyers will be in touch. Violation #1- The management company failed to secure a lawn company for the summer season, which resulted in the grass growing to 2 feet tall. Lawn companies add additional fees for unkept lawns and the city fines buildings who have unkept lawns. Violation #2.- The management company allowed the condo association to implement a special assessment, which under Illinois law, if the special assessment takes the current year’s total above the 15% threshold, the owners should have the opportunity to veto the decision at a board meeting. This should be common knowledge to the management company and it is even stated on their website. Violation #3.- The management company ignored the requests of multiple unit owners to inform the board that 4 meetings per year need to take place according the associations bylaws. No meeting has taken place all year. The management company only cares to get paid for doing absolutely NOTHING. Violation #4.The list goes on of the incompetency that this management company has displayed. If you choose to hire this management company, you might as well just throw your money in the trash. That would be a lot easier.

This organization seems poorly organized not responsive and not detail oriented. Because of their lack of communication, their slow processing time, and inaccuracy in sending vital information, buyers for my property were not comfortable completing the sale knowing they'd have to work with Connected.

Listen if you want a company to pay your bills and oversee the financials then this is great, but to expect anything additional beyond that will be a let down. They are great at getting the bills paid. (PERIOD). They are also really great at doing the bare minimum in any other instance. Depending on who you have on your team, expect occasionally snippy responses and a "could care less" attitude. They sell themselves as much more, and again as I've said, having a company take care of the condo financials is a true value in itself... but thats the only value in Connected Management. Maybe they need better agents, maybe they need better training...I'm not sure what it is, as often times they'd pick and choose how involved they wanted to be. Be prepared to do a lot of hand holding. Personally, I'm glad to be away from it.

Connected management is the worst management company our condo association has ever used. If I could give them zero stars I would. They collect money well but will treat you like garbage in the meantime. These people rarely answer phone calls or even return them. They use every excuse not to answer questions you might have about the way they do things around your property. We rarely have repairs done and if they are done its half way right. Team Charlie and Chris Dewulf are the worst at what they do and not helpful at all, they actually go out of their way to be unprofessional and rude without cause. Don't waste your time with this company if you don't have to.

If I could provide zero stars, I would. This company nickel and dimes their clients over the smallest requests. I was helping my mother with a simple cash out refinance and they charged us $350 for a simple form to be filled out. Shame on Connected Property Management, It is company's like you that give management companies a bad name!

*update*We are now paying late fees on our bills because the month we cancelled, they stopped paying our bills. When you cancel with them make sure to not pay them for the final month. They won't do the work anyway.Terrible company taking your money and offering nothing but chaos. This is my final message to the team at connected:“it has been such a disappointment to work with you and your team this whole year. Every response has left us with unkempt frustration. Your company’s lack of attentiveness, care and friendly business tactics has made it necessary to leave. The rising cost on top of the lack follow through in your offered services was an extra thorn in our daily life. And your choice to end services this way is deserving of a refund and an apology to all involved. I am sorry that I have nothing kind to say about you or your services at Connected Management. I doubt I can say anything to convince you to serve our new team but I would wish that you would try your best to finish right.”

If I could give negative reviews to this I’d do it.You can apply any synonyms of unprofessional, worst, and tardy to this firm. They charge hefty fees but lack in fast communication, replying to emails, helping residents. They took 3 weeks to return 4 page documents which would otherwise take one day to return. They don’t want to work.If you want good care of your property with peace of mind, DON’T HIRE them, FIRE them if you did.I suspect all positive reviews are either bought or influenced..
