Leasing agent was extremely rude and honestly downright mean. This was one of my top three choices Before the tour, but after seeing how the staff treats prospective tenants, I decided to go elsewhere. The cherry on top was when she called to ask why I didn't lease, then proceeded to try to insult me saying I couldn't afford the property. Actually, I signed a lease with a higher rent elsewhere. Lol.

Ken is a standout member of the Coast team in the package receiving room. He deals with a staggering number of packages coming in, but is so skilled at knowing what belong to whom. He’s amazing at problem solving and has always come through when I think I have a misplaced shipment. He’s truly a shining star in the Coast community — and it’s always a pleasure to see him.

I toured the Coast Apartments with my client this week and I was truly amazed by the experience. The building agent who toured us, Priscilla, was courteous, professional, refreshingly disarming and easy to speak with. She made asking the hard questions easy, and we were both beyond impressed by her knowledge and experience. It was one of the best touring experiences I’ve had the pleasure of accompanying a client on in my career. She is looking forward to starting her lease there this year!

I toured the Coast with Priscilla in May. I was trying to find a place quick and had seen 4 buildings in one day, so I immediately got confused and had to call Priscilla back and ask to see the building again. She was so nice, showed me the place again, and I was approved and signed a lease that same week. The amenities here are amazing, including a spa, pool, and public workspaces, and the residents seem so friendly. I'd recommend anyone who wants to live near the water or downtown or have an all inclusive live-in experience. The Amazon lockers in the building and laundry service and it being connected to the pedway, it just makes life simpler to have all that built in to your apartment building. I attached a photo of the view from my balcony so you get an idea of the views too.

I had a great experience living at Coast for 3 years. It’s a very nice building and it is first class. I met some amazing people there that will be friends for life and it will always have fond memories of the experience. I highly recommend this area and building as a permanent residence.

The community here is good, but my experience dealing with the leasing / management office has been frustratingly poor. I recently had an issue with my insurance policy because they didn't give me all the necessary information when I moved in. When I tried to sort it out, they were incredibly unhelpful and rude, making me run around in circles when it was their fault to begin with. There was no ownership or apology for their mistake, no willingness to problem solve together, just a lot of unnecessarily added stress. It's a real shame that this how they treat their residents.

Excellent experience at the Coast! Exceeded our expectations. Our move-in day process was flawless! We’re grateful to Pricilla in the leasing office who helped with the entire journey from the first time we looked at apartments to the day we moved in! Thank you!! She and Sarah are knowledgeable, friendly and professional. They’re willing to answer our questions in a timely manner. The front desk security team made us feel welcome the minute we walked in…very attentive and friendly. The awesome maintenance team really came to our aid and helped us that day. What an exceptional group of people in a place we now call home. Thank you to the staff at the Coast at Lakeshore!

Living at Coast in the heart of downtown Chicago has been an exceptional experience. From the moment you step into the building, the welcoming atmosphere created by the incredibly friendly staff and neighbors is immediately noticeable. The staff here go above and beyond to make residents feel at home, always ready to assist with a smile. The amenities are good, offering everything you need for a comfortable and enjoyable lifestyle.
We live in a spacious two bed room/two bathroom apartment on the north side. The balcony is the best, it’s enormous! I really love that.
Pet owners will be delighted to know that Coast Chicago is very pet-friendly. Our chihuahua is super happy here, enjoying the pet-friendly facilities and the nearby parks.
The area surrounding the building is vibrant and full of life, with plenty of restaurants, shops, and recreational activities just a short walk away. The beautiful lakefront, the famous artwork Cloudgate (The Bean) in Millennium Park, the vibrant river walk, and Navy Pier being just a few minutes walking distance add even more charm to the neighborhood. Additionally, several musea and luxury shopping is also conveniently located within a 10-20 minute walk.
One of the highlights of living here is the stunning view. Whether you’re looking out over the city skyline, the Chicago River, lovely Lake Shore East Park or enjoying the picturesque lakefront, the scenery is absolutely breathtaking.
Coast Chicago also offers a range of great activities that foster a strong sense of community. The Summer and Christmas parties are always a hit, providing fun and festive gatherings for residents. Additionally, the free sports activities, including Zumba, yoga, Pilates, and Aqua Aerobics, are a fantastic way to stay active and meet new people.
Overall, Coast Chicago offers a fantastic living experience with its good amenities (beautiful spa!) and services (the parcel room service is outstanding!), friendly community, and unbeatable location. It’s a place that truly feels like home.

Do not live here!!!!Everything in this building is either being upgraded or need upgrade. First is the hot tub area that was being upgraded and cannot be used for a while. Then the elevators are constantly being fixed and people are lining up in the lobby for the elevator to come. Now they are upgrading individual units and I believe most units have not been upgraded yet so if you lived here there’s high chances that one of the nearby units will be undergoing upgrades during your lease. Which means construction during workdays and also from 7 am on Saturday!!!! The drillings and workers removing carpet and move staff around will be haunting you every morning. And if you are living in a unit that has not been upgraded yet. Congratulations, you will be using the first generation appliances since this building was built! Outdated, making noise while using, and break from time to time. They are charging you $3000+ for a one bed in this condition!

Arrived in September 2023 from London, we feel at home. Great location and a great team. Hard work for the community which we all build together. Events and meetings with all neighbors. Spacious apartment with triple AAA view, large balcony, beautiful amenities and pet friendly. Of course we renewed our lease.

A great building with amazing few (north or south) and an even better building staff. Ken in the package room is the most positive human I have ever met and Jen at the front desk is always a friendly welcome home.

DO NOT LIVE HERE!
I've been living here for nine months now and this place is a nightmare.
First off, the insulation around the windows is almost nonexistent, which means that in the winter when you turn the heat on massive amount of condensation will build up on the inside of the unit and mold will grow everywhere (see photos). Humidity built up so badly that water got under my floorboards and started flooding out when you stepped on it. The only solution management had was to run a commercial dehumidifier 24/7 which caused my electricity bill to spike and was consistently loud throughout the day. Mold grows everywhere and it's disgusting.
The second problem is the security. Multiple cars have been broken into or outright stolen. No response from management besides sending out emails asking to lock up valuables. Issue has persisted for several months.
The third problem is now the constant construction that is taking place on several vacant units. The apartment sounds like a warzone and goes throughout the day and Saturday.
Lakeshore East is an amazing place to live, but do not come to Coast. This apartment complex is awful and there are so many good options elsewhere in the area.
elevators are broken. Wait time to get an elevator is sometimes 10+ minutes... unreal....

Update: Coast continues to be the worst we now have two working elevators for 46 floors full of people. One elevator went down for repairs, with no update from management. The other elevator is rented out as a freight all hours of the day.
Incredibly disappointed in my experience with Coast throughout the almost year I have lived here. The location is amazing and Lakeshore East is a great neighborhood. HOWEVER that does not make up for how bad this building and its management is. The apartments have super dated appliances that are constantly breaking, the window insulation is so bad that your floors are dripping wet in the wintertime and you have no control over when the building turns on the AC so in the Spring, Summer and sometimes Fall the apartments get up to 80+ degrees inside with management saying they "have no idea" when it will turn back on. The leasing office staff is USELESS and unhelpful, there are constantly cars getting broken into in the garage and there are not enough elevators for how many people live in this building. The bright points of the building are the wonderful front desk and maintenance staff and the view but that's it. For how much you pay it is not worth it. AVOID COAST AT ALL COSTS

Priscilla was incredibly helpful in assisting me with renting a unit at Coast. Her friendly demeanor and professional approach made the entire process smooth and enjoyable. She went above and beyond to ensure I found the perfect unit, making me feel valued and supported throughout. I'm grateful for her dedication and expertise!
