This hotel happens to be in an excellent location for Chicago's touristy areas! The staff was friendly and rooms were extremely clean. Breakfast was wonderful! My only complaint would be the windows that seem to let in every sound from the outside in! Almost daily(around 5am), we were woken to a garbage truck emptying the large bins and the typical city sirens throughout the night. If it wasn't for the windows being too thin, I'd give this hotel a 5 star review!

Great location, check in process seemed a bit strained. We asked for a higher room and got a lower.A little confused as to the policy of a cumulative deposit of 59.00 per day.Tried calling the front desk regarding the room and no one answered.Rooms were big, but rather institutional.also air heating unit was very noisy and occasionally spat out drops of fluids.

I had a reservation from 11/26 - 11/28. Upon my arrival, the thermostat was not working. As a result, the room was very cold to the point I had to check out the same day I arrived. I tried calling the front desk several times but no one answered. I went to the front desk to address the issue of an inoperable thermostat, Renee (front desk clerk) stated that she could offer a blanket to keep me warm. When I asked Renee has other guests had the same issue. Renee stated YES. This was unacceptable to remedy this issue. I paid $545.00 (which included the room plus valet parking). When I asked for a manager on-site. Renee stated that she was unavailable because I wanted a refund due to the very cold temperature in the room. In the interim, Renee stated it would take 5 to 10 business days for me to receive a refund reflect back to my bank account. However, it took Hampton Inn 5 to 10 seconds to remove $545.00 from my account when I made a reservation. I would suggest that anyone that comes to Chicago to visit, DO NOT make a reservation for Hampton Inn in Chicago located at 68 E. Wacker Dr. The service along with management is very poor.

Hotel was in a great location near everything. Good variety at breakfast each morning. Only downfall, the bar was never opened while we were there. We were told the bartender called in sick each day but there was no back up plan so we had to go across the street after a long day of walking to have a drink at Morton's Steakhouse.

The location is great. We appreciate having the breakfast included (though it was just ok), and the price was affordable. On the downside, the beds are not comfortable. The windows let in absolutely all noise from outside. We have awoken all night every night to car horns, sirens, and what seems to be garbage trucks emptying dumpsters starting at 4am. There are blackout shades, but you can’t also close the curtains. Another strange thing, the app instructed me to choose my room, which I did, only to have it reassign me to a different room anyway. The room I was reassigned to faces an alley with a bunch of dumpsters. I’m guessing my original room choice wouldn’t have been quite as loud. Definitely bring ear plugs. I’m going to pick some up today for our last night here.Walkability: Close to many things

We called the hotel to ask if they price matched the 3rd party sites. They said no so we booked third party. The room we got originally smelled really bad. Like mildew/moldy, It had a very wet smell. They relocated us to a different floor citing that the room we were placed in was near a "garbage chute". The replacement room we received smelled more or less the same just not as intense (!) and the smell was much more bearable (with an 8 floors difference). Our blanket had a suspicious stain ?. Quite a dingy hotel. Will see what the breakfast entails...

The location is excellent and the older building is really neat. Breakfast is well attended too and the staff are great. We had some issues during our stay, but the management reached out to address those appropriately. While not everything went perfectly, that's a good sign of a well-run hotel and I'm willing to give credit where credit is due!

I've stayed here twice because the location is amazing. Both times my room has smelled weird and felt humid. The first time it was very mild, and I chalked it up to the fact it was a small room in an old building. This second time was worse and we had gnats and a spider in our room. But the workers are phenomenal at the front desk! Maya is super sweet and helpful!Safety: Very safe.Walkability: Super great location.Food & drinks: Free coffee and breakfast.

We had such a lovely time at this hotel. The room was great and the service was incredible. This hotel had the best breakfast of any hotel I’ve ever been at. And the staff during breakfast was so kind and efficient. We will definitely be staying at this hotel again!Just a note if you have a larger vehicle: We were unable to use valet parking because our vehicle was too large (my dad even had trouble getting it parked) but we appreciate that they were honest and didn’t want to take a chance on damaging the vehicle.

The rooms are a bit odd. My particular room was a bit cramped, had an odd shape, and full-length bathroom window was directly facing the main room of an adjacent hotel. That said, the staff was very accommodating and friendly, and the location is spectacular. It's a short walk away from Melenium Park, the Downtown area, at least 2 places to get Deep Dish Pizza, and roughly a block away from a major public transit hub.

Rooms are noisy, messages don't make it to the manager, and they DOUBLE-CHARGE for valet parking (in the rate quoted which includes parking, and then again as a line-item for $69!) Don't get ripped off, just park on your own. Better yet, stay somewhere else.

Modest hotel with great access to Chicago! My wife and I stayed here for a weekend trip to the city. The room (Standard King) was small but sufficient for our needs. It was a bit noisy at night, but it would appear that is an issue for most locations downtown. The breakfast was appreciated and offered hot and cold options. The best part of the experience as the location of the property in the Loop with easy access to Millennium Park and more.

This hotel is a great location and the rooms are spacious and updated. When we stayed in July 2023, the elevators were very slow and during peak times, we waited a long time for an elevator to leave our room. There was also no AC in the hallway or in the elevator so it made those waits really uncomfortable. Parking was also $50/night which we didn’t expect (probably naive on our part).Nearby activities: Tons of great shopping and good food nearby.Walkability: Easily walkable to the river and Navy Pier. A long walk to the Bean and we even walked to Second City for a show.

Hotel Staff is so good and courteous for any needs.Located in the heart of Chicago downtown that brings all top attractions in few mins by walk.Breakfast options are good for day start.Overall wonderful experience while staying with Hampton Inn for 2 nights.Room size might appear bit small as compared to the images, but definitely be compensated with other positives.
