With their prices, calling this place a low-cost animal clinic is an exaggeration, more like a lie. And i don’t know what hell they are doing back there with people’s pets. but when I came back for my dog the next day, she was shaking as if she was freezing. The bed I gave to them was wet all over and she had poop stuck under tail. ? ?. Luckily I had a blanket and was able to warm her up, but I took a long while to get her comfortable. Don’t recommend.

I took my dog there Tuesday. I was in and out less time than when I get there at 0730. They provide great care. You have to be willing to wait if you are just having shots a d office visit.

Why do shelters like this make it so hard to adopt a dog?!?! I was interested in a dog that has supposedly been in this shelter for over a year. I called to see if the dog was still available, and they told me I couldn’t even apply because I’m “in a different state”. I’m from Indiana and only an 1 hr away, but since this shelter is in Illinois they deny me immediately. Absolutely ridiculous!!!

My dog had something stuck in her paw. We arrived here at 8:05am on a Saturday. We stood in line for about an hour to check in/register. We were called to see the "doctor" at 10:50am. Pet owners cannot wait inside, so I dropped my dog off and waited in the car. I received a phone call two hours later saying "please come in for payment." I asked the lady what was done to my dog and what was I paying for, and she said it varies. My total was $99.50. After paying, she "discovered" what I was paying for. It was prescriptions along with a $35 office visit fee. The vet tech then told me that there was no thorn in my dog's paw and the medicine I was forced to purchase was for "just in case." My dog dog not need the medicine and this is how they squeeze you for money, very unethical. If there's an emergency, this is a good option, otherwise, I wouldn't recommend. The employees are dismissive, and don't have any customer service training.

EXTREMELY inappropriate people for how they spoke to my sister over a situation. My sister tried to help a dog from the shelter find a safe & wonderful home (which she did, an amazing woman who took great care of him). They called my sister back demanding the dog to be returned to the shelter (which is under poor conditions). They reported to my sister that they are not giving the dog back to anyone (the dog will be staying in the shelter). They called my sister “embarrassing” & other inappropriate remarks. The staff are horrible but the poor dogs still need good homes. If you get a dog from here please be prepared to deal with unprofessional women. I’m so disappointed with how this establishment is ran. 0/10.

I adopted my first cat ever on 8/1/24. The adoption process was easy and affordable. My cat is 10 months old and has been at the shelter since she was a kitten. She is vaccinated, spayed and chipped and cost $90 to adopt her. She’s been a wonderful cat! Highly recommend for adoptions!

I visited the Animal Welfare organization in Chicago Ridge on Thursday, September 19, 2025, at 1:10 PM (during my lunch break), intending to ask about volunteering my time and making a donation on behalf of my company, as well as to look at the dogs.
Upon entering the lobby, I was startled by the way I was addressed. The two employees behind the desk were both on the phone. As I began to look around the lobby—since I hadn’t visited in over 20 years (both of my previous dogs were adopted from this location)—I noticed a cage against the wall with clothes nearby. As I walked over to it, a woman’s voice abruptly called out, “Get away from the cages.” I was startled and turned to see one of the employees staring at me while still on the phone, looking annoyed. She repeated, “You’re not allowed near the small animal cages.” There were no signs or barriers to indicate this, and I had only glanced inside to see a sleeping ferret.
When I asked if I could see the dogs, the woman gruffly responded, “We don’t do that anymore.” When I clarified, she mimicked me, saying, “Noooo, we don’t.” I left feeling disrespected and frustrated. I came to support the organization and instead was met with rudeness. This is not the experience anyone should have, especially when looking to help.
I hope the organization reconsiders the staffing at the front desk. Professionalism and kindness are essential when interacting with the public, especially in a setting that relies on donations and community support.

I called to the AWL to follow up on my adoption application. Walter’s customer service skills was rude and ill mannered. Walter threatened to deny my application because I ask him questions regarding the adoption process. Walter obviously lacks customer service training and skill. Thirty minutes later I received a call from Linda stating my application for adoption has been denied. Linda stated the application was denied due to having a non neutered pet residing at my home. I have Never heard of such a biased Policy to deny a Loving animal a Loving home…..Walter also stated the telephone greeting is outdated
