I don't know why I ever shop here. Basically it's out of convenience since it is the closest grocery store to me I usually go elsewhere for my weekly shopping since I almost always have a bad experience here. Out-dated dairy, canned goods and terrible produce are not uncommon to be found here. When I do shop here, I will always check expiration dates and have several times gone to the service desk to inform them of out-of-date items. Today I purchased a red pepper and when I cut it open at home it was black inside with mold. So, of course, I had to go back out to another grocery to re-purchase. The people who work here are very nice, but their quality control is terrible. In the future, I will only shop here when necessary and only for canned goods where I can check the expiration date before purchasing. This is unfortunate because this store is closer to my home, but I will never buy dairy, produce, or meats here again.

I’ve had very bad experiences with this BG pharmacy. The staff is very rude (pharmacist too) and doesn’t know how to do their jobs. Also doesn’t want to do anything for customers. If I didn’t transfer to another location of Mariano pharmacy (2323 Capital Dr.Northbrook) I would pay a lot more copayments. I asked them to check and correct about issues but they ignore me and gave me wrong information with bad attitudes. Mariano in Northbrook staff fixed problems even though he is busy as much as BG staff but tried his best to help me. They used same Mariano computer system, why BG staff and pharmacist couldn’t do it?? And why they were rude to customers??Such a horrible customer service!!!If anyone have problems with this BG pharmacy , I highly recommend Mariano in Northbrook. You will experience high quality of customer service.I don’t know how they keep their positions for doing such a bad job!

I really enjoyed the customer service provided to me by the deli guy I think his name was Kristuff or something, I forgot his name but vividly remember the name tag. He was very nice to me and knowledgable on all hams. He was quick with my service and was cute, too.. I had one more item to grab but was running late to work, so I said why not, and asked him where the twinkies were. To my surprise, he knew exactly which aisle and placement. I hurried up to the aisle to grab my item and headed out with a smile on my mug. Unfortunately, when I got home and cracked it open, I saw the date. It was expired. I was very sad because my great experience turned into a sour one. I was disappointed but ate it anyway.

This is the mostly poorly run store grocery store Ive ever been to. There are always lots of "associates" standing around self check out (bc no actual lanes are open) but they're usually just arguing and gossiping with each other while customers stand there waiting for help which is always "on the way" per the recorded message on self checkout, but clearly is not true. The 5-8 employees always hanging around customer service. Half the carts are broken, shelves filled with expired products, & a shift supervisor who apparently decided the best place for a display of chocolate covered strawberries was in the middle of the self checkout area - which completely trapped anyone behind the very first self checkout machine. If it really seemed like staffing was an issue, id never write this, but that store consistently has more employees than customers and you can still never find anyone who can help.

Service dogs are not welcome at this location. We were cornered by three employees, one of which grabbed our cart and blocked us from moving. We were asked if he was a service animal by a female with short grey hair and when we said "yes he is" she rolled her eyes and shook her head as she walked away. Two other employees, a white haired manager and an older man named "Robert" in a chefs coat, who grabbed our shopping cart, approached us and said we had to provide paperwork about our dog and that he would not be allowed to get "close to the fresh food." We gently reminded these employees about the Americans with Disabilities Act and were basically told that they do not have to allow our service animal into the store. This is NOT our regular Mariano's, where we buy all of our groceries and have never had a single issue with our dog, who is incredibly well behaved at all times. We were absolutely appalled by this behavior of three, older adults probably 50-70 years old. The manager followed us outside when we peacefully decided to take our business to our normal Mariano's. The manager proceeded to smoke a cigarette 10 feet away from the front doors and watch us pack up and leave. Again, we're shocked at the level of unprofessionalism and discrimination.

Dropped off a prescription to be refilled and because the pharmacist Marina said there are 2 different handwritings on the script she doesn't like it and needs to call to verify the script.I have dropped off numerous prescriptions from this doctor with no questions asked until now. She continued to argue with me saying she needs to call the doctor to verify the prescription.I feel that she is making me look like I'm trying to get a prescription illegally when I've had this prescription written by my doctor numerous times.

An employee accused me of stealing as I was walking out of the store with something I had paid for. I did not have a bag as I try to save plastic, and several of the employees had seen me pay for the item (which they then confirmed after I walked back into the store). Finally I gave them the donuts and walked away without taking my money back.

When this store first opened it was a wonderful place to shop. Upscale, clean, well stocked and well staffed. Now, none of that is true. So many out of stocks on things that they theoretically had planned to have; for example, things in their flyer. If you put it on sale, demand goes up and one would think they would have a plan for that. But no. Their carts are clunky and they seem to be getting rid of the smaller carts which were much easier to maneuver. Not unique to this store, but Kroger's self-checkout system is the worst I've ever experienced too. All-in-all, shopping here is a frustration.

I've never seen such a clean grocery store as this one. The floors were so clean they were super bright. Staff and services are top notch. Fresh flowers and customized bouquets available on-site. Pricing is reasonable. Excellent customer service at the seafood counter and the cashier was so sweet and pleasant, with the anxiety I now get going to places I honestly felt very at ease. The deli service was excellent too. They have signs for every aisle, and the layout itself makes it easy to get whatever you need from there. Overall just a great experience. The staff was always asking if I needed help looking for any particular products.

One of the best Mariano's I've been to. Spacious and well maintained grocery store. Shelves are well stocked and there is a large selection of items. Store is clean, the meat department is top notch. A wide selection of fresh fruit and vegetables. The flower department and bakery are my favorite places to stop by. checkout counters are well staffed. The Management is amazing and seems to care for their patrons as well. Overall great place to get groceries and household items. Thank you for making the chore of shopping friendly and convenient for all my household needs. Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I only come here often because it's on my way to work and I only come here for a smoothie. I always wait over 20 minutes (no one is ever there and I have to ask customer service to call someone over) for a $7 smoothie and they will just send anyone to come do it so my smoothie is either good or really gross and they always forget the protein powder I ask for in it. Sometimes I wait over 20 minutes for someone to make my smoothie and then (if they can't check me out themself(?)) I have to go to vero and ask someone to page someone else to come to that station and wait even longer. It's quite ridiculous. There are workers everywhere telling me someone is going to come and they don't come until way later. If this were my job, I'd get in so much trouble for poor customer service. Just close the smoothie bar if you don't have someone to work it instead of sending someone to make a bad smoothie for you after waiting for ever!
