1800 W Irving Park Rd, Schaumburg“Volunteering at AHF has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I love the flexibility of when to volunteer, the community of volunteers, and of course, the chance to help the dogs and cats in their time of need. Our country needs to do better to ensure no animal (or human) experiences neglect or abuse, and volunteering here is one step in the right direction to create a better world for us all.”

4100 IL-53, Lisle“Forest Park is located about an hour from Chicago. There's really nothing but trees. However, it's probably a good place for people who are tired of living in the city.A long time ago, a lawyer friend of mine told me that the city of Chicago was tiring. From my perspective, Chicago is a beautiful city for a large city, and I think it's quiet except when there are events going on.Well, I walked here for over 2 hours.Since there is nothing, it becomes nothing.Suddenly, a loud sound rang out.As I walked, wondering what it was,A woman was looking at a fallen tree and said that the tree had just been blown over by the wind.Nature is amazing.”
“For a minimal effort and a fun event, you can help starving people around the globe. This is a very worthwhile charity- I try to do it every time the opportunity arises.”
“Thank you so much for the box I received from your organization. The thought and care that went in to each item was wonderful and so thoughtful. Thank you for all you do for everyone.”
“My experience here was amazing. Everyone is very supportive and informative in what resources there are. They really care, are compassionate, and check in on you during your journey and after. I can say I don't know where I would've been without their support and am thankful for everything they helped me through. This is a wonderful place.”
“LOVE this garden center! Supports a beautiful mission and also has a great selection of plants for all seasons and for good prices. They have garden plants and some succulents and houseplants as well.In the winter you can walk into the greenhouses and the warmth, humidity and of course the plants, are sure to uplift your mood ??☀️I bought many veggie starts for our summer garden which were good quality and produced well for us. I loved that there was such a good variety of tomatoes and peppers as well as other vegetables. Also they had a great selection of fall mums and other fall plants which I purchased to add to our front porch planters. They were great quality and great prices - you really can’t beat that!”

“I love, love, love, LOOOOOOOOVE this place and even more, the fact that the WINGS program even exists! The ONLIEST reason I rate 4 stars instead of 5 is because they close so darn early, and I can't always get there on the weekends to shop. They used to be open until 6pm during the week, and IDK what happened to that. :(”
“This organization is doing an amazing part of keeping our wildlife in balance. They always have kittens for adoption and make sure the ferals are taken care of so they don’t make more. Adopt don’t shop!”
“Hello,The people that volunteer are so kind and NEVER make you feel bad for requesting help..I barely have any teeth left, do certain items are hard for me to eatCan I suggest something like that be added to the list you fill out when you arrive?I was given Italian bread and some sort of bread in a ball shape, lol. They turned hard in one day, do I wasn't able to eat it.There's might be others in the same position as me that are too embarrassed to mention it.I'm not complaining ar all. You are a life savor.”

“We went on Raptor Day, so parking was $20/car (usually free). It was money well spent, and also knowing the funds are going to help with conservation. The staff/volunteers were so knowledgeable and friendly, and spent time answering all our questions. It is also a beautiful area to hike around, with some great spots for photos.”
“Since 1988, I've experienced profound generosity and wrap-around social services with resources to meet every need of my family! I've never met better stewards of goodness.”
“I have been working with Amrit and Faith for roughly a month or two now and have only positive things to say about both! I worked with a therapist years ago and it was such a terrible experience that I never thought I would try it again. After getting to my lowest mental health point, I knew it was time to reach out for help and so I did but was very nervous due to my previous experience. Both Amrit and Faith have made me feel hopeful, heard, and treated me with nothing but kindness, respect, and care. I finally feel I am on track to my best self and I owe them so much credit. They are giving me the tools I need to get through this and to continue on a good path. The clinic was also understanding of my recent back surgery and was able to accommodate me with having tele visits with both! I would HIGHLY recommend them.”
“Excellent staff, awesome nurses and social workers. I’ve visited many nursing homes/ therapy places, Oaks by far is the best. They really care and treated my mom wonderfully.”
“The Buddy Foundation is so wonderful! I volunteer there and everyone who is there is a volunteer. The only people that get paid are the veterinarians. They put all their resources into saving dogs and cats from all over they spare no expense to save an animal’s life. The people there are so dedicated.”

“Waltz, fox trot, cha cha. rumba and swing music is played at every monthly dance party. A variety of other dance music is played as well for the more advanced dancers. When not dancing, it’s easy to meet and chat with friendly people who share your interest in dancing. Water and snacks are provided at no extra charge. The dance floor is huge. There’s plenty of space in the center of the room for couples who prefer not to progress around the outer part of the room in waltz and fox trot.”
